“Your existence isn’t all that unknown any longer, is it?”  While the voice was a silent amused whisper in his head, the owner wasn’t immediately visible.  At least not until one looked up to see the dragon reclining on a low roof with all the ease of a contented cat.

“I’m glad that your blade was able to be returned to you.”

Death Is Just A Step Away

Fate may have downsized its operations but it wasn’t out of the picture.  And when a disruption regarding animals generally meant one agent was recommend.   Today was no different when reports of something going on in the Bronx Zoo, something that was more than the police could handle. 

Strange reports of something resembling what should have been lion roaming the zoo caused the place to be evacuated and Eneko assigned to scout out the situation. 

Flames flickered in fitful corners through the reptile enclosure, the animals within dead silent as only they could be when a predator was about.  And there, in the furthest end lay a creature of legend.    Yes, it was a lion, but there was a second head lying on those massive paws, curved horns curling above its head.    A snake hissed as it rose from the other end, tongue flickering out. 

All six eyes, goat, lion and serpent turned to stare right at the young man.

Her visit with Carol hadn’t gone quite as she had expected.  All signs of the investigation had been pointing to Sephiroth as the villain here but the victim herself has protested that fact. 

“Hey, Suit?  I’ve got some good news and some bad news.  Which would you like to hear first?”

True to her word, Fenrir found her way to Loki’s home as soon as she was released from the task she had been busy with.  Regardless of her relief she was still responsible enough not to simply drop all work in the middle of it. 

She hesitated outside the door, wondering if she’d even be welcome at the time.  Well, there was no way to find out other than to knock on the door.  Stepping up she did just that.  

Now all she could do was wait.
