73: “Yes, I’m jealous and I hate it.”
100: “I’m so in love with the person I’m looking at right now.”
“Are you sure he’s going to like this?” I asked worriedly. I tapped my fingers on the counter anxiously as I stared at the food in front.
“Y/N stop worrying! He’s going to love it.” Mingyu laughed, placing the chopsticks beside the plate.
Wonwoo has been overworking these past days and I’ve noticed how he rarely ate normal dishes. So I’ve came up with the idea of surprising him with his favorite food since he promised that tonight will be the last day of his work and he’ll have free time the next day. Mingyu, who was closest to me besides Wonwoo, found out about my plan so he volunteered on helping. We’ve already finished cooking the dishes and we’re only waiting for Wonwoo to come home.
I glanced at the clock of the microwave. “He should be here anytime soon.” I breathed out, running my fingers through my hair to fix the mess.
“Yeah. I should get going. Tell me how it goes, Y/N!” Mingyu smiled at me. He came to give me a quick hug before walking out of the apartment.
I looked at myself in the mirror and saw a very sweaty human being. I quickly grabbed some tissue and dabbed it on my face. The sound of the door closing a bit loudly made me jump and threw the box of tissue.
The familiar footsteps gave me the idea that it was Wonwoo, so I went to see him and gave him a smile.
“Hi, baby. How was work?” I asked, wrapping my arms around his waist.
“Good.” He replied bluntly, pulling away from my grip.
“You don’t seem well.” I said softly. “How are you feeling? Are you tired?”
“How do you think I would feel when I just saw Mingyu walking out of your apartment?” He looked at me a bit harshly.
I straightened my position before speaking. “Wonwoo, it’s not what it looks like...” I trailed off, reaching for his hand but he moved it away.
“Why are you sweaty? Why was he rushing?”
“Wonwoo, he just came to help me cook for you! What do you think we were doing?” I raised my voice, furrowing my eyebrows.
“He what?” Wonwoo stuttered.
I sighed. “You told me that tomorrow is your day off and I’ve seen how you rarely ate so I decided to cook something for you. Mingyu just came to help me cook.” I explained briefly.
He looked at me with apology in his eyes. “Y/N, I’m sorry. I was overthinking. I was just a bit tired so I jumped into conclusions easily.” He said, pulling me closer and resting his head on the top of mine.
“I understand. You’re forgiven, love.” I sighed. “Now, let’s eat before the food gets cold.”
The dinner we shared was full of our conversations about his day went, the new song they just finished working, and how unlucky Jeonghan’s day was because Seungcheol didn’t let him rest. I also shared to him about some new things I learned about cooking from Mingyu. But he didn’t seem to like it when he heard the name.
“Why do you look like you just saw you childhood enemy?” I chuckled, poking the other side of my chopsticks to his forehead.
“I see, you had a good time with Mingyu.” He said, looking down at his empty plate.
“Are you jealous?”
“Yes, I’m jealous and I hate it.” He replied immediately, looking directly at my eyes this time.
I grinned at him before asking, “Do you wanna hear another thing then?”
He cocked his head on the side, waiting for me to speak.
“I’m so in love with the person I’m staring at right now.” I stated sincerely. “So don’t be jealous. I know that Mingyu has a handsome face but he’s not you so you have nothing to worry about.” I reached for his hand and squeezed it reassuringly. “I only love you. Just you. Only you.”
He smiled at me before pulling my hands and placing a soft kiss on my knuckles. “That’s what I want to hear more from you.”
