An Unusual Family

Happy January Jubilation, @commander-sarahs-art! Here is my gift for @masseffectholidaycheer! I can't believe I managed to finish this for Day 1, but here it is! Part of it is a found family fic with the SR-1 crew and part is some flirty pre-romance stuff with Miranda and Kaidan. I really hope you love it! <3

The Normandy SR-1’s mess was busy: the humans and aliens of the ship seeking out sustenance after a difficult mission, the geth incursions finally put behind them for the time being. Miranda Shepard was perched in a chair at the end of one table, her feet kicked up and arms crossed over her chest as she watched her crew. On the ground, they worked well together, accustomed to how the others fought in the thick of battle. 

But here, sitting in the relative quiet of the Normandy, the mood was different. 

There was no chatter, no comradery, no attempts at getting to know each other past the battlefield, past the violence and bloodshed. 

Violence built deep bonds, it was true, but Miranda wanted something more for her crew. An understanding that went beyond the mission, beyond duty. She wanted them to be friends.

Clearing her throat, she was greeted by multiple pairs of eyes: blood red, bright blue, a brown that reminded her of a fresh glass of whiskey-

Refusing to go down that particular path, Shepard decided a distraction was in order. For all of them.

“We should choose a hobby to do in our downtime. Something we can all do together. Something fun.” Miranda glanced in the direction of her gunnery chief who was watching intently, the corners of her lips turned up in a grin. “Got a suggestion, chief?”

“Depends on what sort of idea you’re looking for, Commander.” Ashley leaned against the table, head tilted slightly to the side as she tapped a finger against her chin. Thinking. “We could do rock climbing-”

“You want me to break every bone in my body?” Joker was sitting at one of the other tables in the mess, moving whatever was being considered tonight’s dinner around his tray. It was something brown and lumpy. Miranda thought it might be gravy of some sort, maybe with mushrooms, but she wasn’t willing to subject her taste buds to it. “Because that’s how you break every bone in my body.”

Ashley rolled her eyes, continuing her list as if the pilot had never even spoken. “There is also something more subdued like starting a book club. Or hell, even knitting.”

“Whatever happened to bonding like warriors.” Wrex muttered, the chair he’d taken creaking beneath his enormous weight. Shepard waited to see if it’d hold him, wondering how much of a disaster it would be when it finally did break beneath his mass. 

“Doesn’t that involve killing each other?” Garrus asked, his mandibles twitching in what counted as a turian smirk. At least, Shepard was pretty sure that’s what it meant. “I’ll pass, thanks.”

Wrex chuckled, a sound that only worried her. Too many species on one ship with differing opinions was a powder keg about to blow at any moment. “Turians were always soft.”

“Our carapaces would say otherwise.”

Shepard glanced at Ashley to find the soldier was amused more than anything. “Knitting can be relaxing. It’s why I suggested it. I used to do it a lot while on Eden Prime. Since nothing ever really happened there. Well, until…”

She trailed off, but no elaboration was needed. 

“It’s a wonderful idea.” Liara offered, stirring her tea with a spoon, a rhythmic clinking following her words. Her voice was calming, like so many other parts of her. “Perhaps it’ll bring some peace after our stressful missions.”

“It sounds boring.” Joker interjected, taking a bite of the food before gagging. He quickly followed it up with a drink of his coffee, drowning the taste beneath the bitter liquid. Why he thought that’d help, Miranda was at a loss. At least it shut him up for five seconds.

Ashley glared at him, taking offense at effectively being called boring. “I’m so sorry that it can’t be as exciting as tentacle porn.”

Joker snorted, inhaling his drink, only to be left choking as he tried to clear his airway.

Wrex snorted from where he sat, watching Joker struggle to not die. Kaidan, who’d been quietly cooking his own dinner, finally joined the conversation, the only voice of reason on the ship. “If knitting is boring to you, Joker, try embroidery. At the very least, you can stab something.”

Shepard glanced across the mess at Kaidan, who only shrugged with a not so apologetic grin. “You aren’t helping, Alenko.”

“Don’t interrupt him, Shepard. I think he’s onto something. Human, tell me more about this hobby of yours.” Wrex demanded, interest obviously piqued. He leaned an arm against the table, red eyes focused directly on the biotic across the room. “How often do I get to stab while doing it? Will it draw blood?”

Ashley slapped her forehead with a hand, trying not to laugh if the way her mouth twitched was any indication.

“Many times. And no.” Miranda glanced at Kaidan with a look, one that screamed for him to save her from this conversation. He smiled at her with a fond expression that would’ve sent her heart thudding in any other situation. But now wasn’t the time to address her inappropriate feelings for her LT. 

There might never be time for that.

“I’m sorry, Commander. You’re on your own.” Kaidan replied, turning back to his food with renewed interest. “I have more important things to worry about than the mess you got yourself into.”

“Traitor.” She muttered, only to get a chuckle in response. “Remember who you report to, LT.”

“Aye aye.” His eyes sparkled with laughter when he glanced at her, his expression softening when she raised an eyebrow in question. Something about the look on his face nearly made her blush, as if he read the depths of her soul in her eyes. “I could never forget that, ma’am.”

“Pulling rank, Shepard?” Tali asked, digging through the rations for something to eat as well. When Shepard shifted her gaze away from Kaidan to the quarian, attempting to ignore the strange feeling that curled in her stomach at Kaidan’s glances, she found Tali was staring in her direction. Shepard couldn’t read her expression because of the mask covering her face, but by her tone, she also found humor in Shepard’s pain. “What are you? A turian?”

Garrus glanced over the back of his chair, his eyes on Tali as she pretended to not notice he was sitting there. “I expected something like that from Wrex, but you too, Tali? I’m shocked. And maybe a little hurt.”

“It’s always the quiet ones.” Joker warned him, pushing his tray away with disgust. Apparently meal time was over. “Watch your back around those three.” He waved at the kitchenette where Kaidan, Tali, and Liara stood.

“That’s a ridiculous thought, Joker.” Ashley stretched her legs beneath the table, leaning back into her chair and glaring at the pilot. “If anyone has to watch their back, it’s the rest of us since we’re subjected to your terrible puns and innuendos.”

“Hey! You appreciate those innuendos more than you want to admit.”

With a tired sigh, Miranda rolled her eyes. She thought all of them were being ridiculous.

Liara sat down beside Joker, steam curling into the air above her teacup. She glanced at him with big blue eyes, a sweet smile on her lips. "Joker, you have nothing to worry about from me.” She sipped her tea slowly, gaze laser focused on him the entire time. Shepard noticed how Joker shifted uncomfortably, Liara’s eyes burning a hole through him. A warning. She set the cup gently back on the table before speaking again, her voice a sweet honeyed sound that sent shivers through Shepard’s spine. “You don’t have to be concerned that I can flay someone alive with my mind.”

Joker visibly swallowed at her words, reaching for his crutches without a smart comment. “Yeah, well, I better get up to the helm. Chase needs a break, you know.”

“Didn’t Chase relieve you an hour ago?” Miranda questioned, but Joker ignored her, slinking off to the elevator that would take him to the CIC, leaving his coffee mug and a half eaten plate of slop behind. 

Liara laughed quietly, picking up her own mug before disappearing into the medbay, waving a goodbye and wishing them fun in their bonding activity endeavors. Tali took the abandoned seat and began to offer her own suggestions, most of them involving technical things that only quarians would understand.

Or turians, apparently.

As Ashley tried to get the conversation back on track with a suggestion of laser tag of all things, Miranda took the chance to sneak away, swiping Joker’s mug and heading to where Kaidan stood alone, cleaning the dishes he’d dirtied while cooking. Placing the mug by the sink, she leaned against the counter, trying to ignore the chatter from the tables. Kaidan side eyed her quickly, a smile curling his lips as he went back to his chore.

“I can’t believe you abandoned me.”

Kaidan huffed a laugh, taking the mug from the counter before rinsing it out. “You did it to yourself, Commander.”

“I resent that, Alenko. Leaving your Commander to the enemy. Is that the sort of marine you are?” Miranda caught a glimpse of his grin turning into something more mischievous. It took all of her senses to refocus on what she was saying… why was it suddenly so hard to take a full breath?

“There are many layers to the man I am, Shepard.” Kaidan finished cleaning the mess before turning to meet her gaze directly, an emotion in his eyes that hadn’t been there earlier. “Maybe one day you’ll see more of them.”

The promise hung in the air between them, more enticing than anything had ever been before.

And Miranda wanted it, as much a surprise to her as the existence of the Reapers had been. Because this feeling that sat in her chest, the one that left her breathless and giddy and a little flushed whenever Kaidan glanced at her, or when he dressed a wound on the battlefield, or whenever they had a quiet moment to chat, just the two of them, her imagination ran wild with the possibilities of them.

It was dizzying, electrifying, and downright terrifying.

Miranda laughed, a breathless sound that did little to ease her nerves, or prove her unflappable in the face of the very thing she was unequipped to handle: affection for a man whom she shouldn’t feel this deeply for.

But Miranda Shepard was a risk taker, always was, and instead of pulling away, she rested a hand atop his, squeezing gently, briefly, before pulling away, the touch scalding her skin as if he was the very fire burning in her chest. “I’d like that, Kaidan.”

His responding smile was bright, a star gone supernova in its intensity. The beauty of his dark eyes ringed in long lashes had been lost on her for so long, but now as she gazed at him in full view, his lips quirked in a smirk, a pink flush spread across his cheeks, Miranda knew there wasn’t a chance she could look at him differently now. 

The galaxy was in danger, the possibility of all civilization being wiped from existence a very real threat, but for a brief moment in the peace of the mess, with the chatter of the people who were her friends in the background, Kaidan’s mesmerizing eyes studying her with a fondness that only left her heart pounding and her palms sweating, Miranda Shepard was content. 

“So would I.” Kaidan shifted closer, fingers brushing across her wrist before disappearing completely, as if she’d dreamed the touch. But the softness on his face, the dimples in his cheeks, the playful raise of a singular eyebrow, all of those were real and she committed each one to memory, unsure of when they’d actually get to talk before they arrived on the Citadel again.

“Miranda.” He spoke her name softly, as if a whispered and reverent prayer, and with a final lingering glance, took his leave to finish the mission reports for Udina and Anderson. She watched as he disappeared down the hall, his mood a little lighter, his brow a little less furrowed.

Laughter erupted from the table where the others still sat, each suggestion for the mandated team building exercise getting more and more outrageous, if only to draw giggles from Tali or raucous booming laughs from Wrex. This was home, as much as anywhere else had been. More so, even. Because here, she was happy. She was more than her military designation, more than the damned cipher in her head.

Miranda glanced at the pile of clean dishes, a smile curling her mouth. At least in the chaos, for however long it lasted, the Normandy was a family. One she was damned proud of.

“Hey, skipper!” Ashley called out, breaking her from her thoughts with a sudden jolt. “Get your ass over here and help me out! This was all your idea.”

With a quiet laugh, Miranda ran a hand through her hair, before heading back to the head of the table, ready to argue with a krogan about why a non-violent activity was better for bonding.

Something Simple

Art trade fic from a few months back for @commander-sarah I found it in my google docs today and realized I hadn’t posted it yet. It’s post-trilogy Shenko fluff, so that just had to be rectified.

Today had been hard. Good, but hard.

“Hey, K?” Miranda began, not even bothering to open her eyes as she slouched down on the sofa until she could rest her feet on the coffee table.

“Yeah?” The sofa shifted as Kaidan sat next to her.

“Next time I suggest having friends over the same day I have PT, please slap me.” She wiggled her toes, feeling the sparks of lingering pain in her bad leg. “I love Ash and Garrus, but that was... pushing it a little.”

Kaidan chuckled. “They wear you out, Shepard?”

“Nah, Trish wore me out in fuckin’ PT,” Miranda corrected around a yawn. “They just sealed the deal.”

“Losing that much at Skyllian Five would be exhausting,” he said teasingly.

She opened one eye to glare at him, but it lacked heat. “You didn’t make out much better than I did, Alenko. You don’t really have room to talk.”

“But I did make out better,” Kaidan smirked in amusement. “So there is a little room to talk.” He reached over and tucked Miranda’s hair behind her ear before it could slide in her eyes. “But I will remind you next time.”

“Thanks. I think it’s partially this place,” she mused. “It’s a great apartment, but it feels kinda... small when we have company. So then I worry about being in the way with having my leg up and that’s tiring after a while.”

“So what’s your ideal place, then?” Kaidan asked idly, slipping his hand into hers and interlacing their fingers.

“Bigger than this, smaller than your parents’ orchard,” Miranda said after a moment’s thought. “We don’t need that much space. I don’t know what I’d do with it, honestly,” she admitted, free hand playing with her necklace. “I grew up  a military brat, I’m used to small quarters. But something with enough space for me to leave out my guns when I’m working on them”--a meaningful look toward the footlockers wedged in the corner behind the Christmas tree--”multiple bedrooms in case of company. A nice kitchen, so you can make me more of your Canadian delicacies,” she teased.

“Wow, so, you want the whole deal, M?” he deadpanned. “House, dog...” he briefly lifted heir joined hands. “Ring.”

“If it’s you offering, then, yeah,” Miranda nodded. “I do.”

“And if I was, what kind would you want?” he probed, sitting back on the couch and absently rubbing his thumb over her knuckles.

“Which one?” she asked, amused.

“You just did house, so.. both of the others, I guess.”

“Lots of dogs, all kinds of dogs,” Miranda smiled. “We could just go clear out some shelter, adopt every dog they have, and I’d be happy. As for ring... nothing fancy, that’s for sure. Stones are too likely to snag on shit, so just a band of some sort.” She fought the urge to smirk at his expression; focused and earnest, clearly making mental notes. “Something simple.”

“Simple, right.” Kaidan nodded. “Makes sense.” He yawned. “Damn, you got me doing it too.”

“Maybe it’s time for bed,” Miranda said glibly, making no move to get off the couch.

“Maybe it is,” Kaidan agreed easily. He kissed the back of her hand before letting go and pushed to his feet. “C’mon. It’ll be more comfortable than the couch.”

Miranda just grunted at him. He was right and she knew it, but right now she was plenty comfortable where she was.

“Oh, it’s snowing,” Kaidan commented, glancing toward the window.

Miranda swiveled to look, but her angle was wrong from the couch. “K, if you’re lying to get me up off the couch, I’m making you sleep on the floor.”

“Swear to God, Shepard,” he promised.

Miranda let out a sigh and levered herself upright, almost toppling as she tried to balance on just her good leg. She very deliberately ignored the crutches leaning against the wall and hobble-hopped until she could see out the window. It was indeed snowing. “Hope that sticks around til Tuesday.”

“Pretty sure it will,” Kaidan said, watching the fluffy white flakes drifting from the sky. “This is the kind that sticks around once it builds up, and the weather’s supposed to stay chilly between now and then.” He shot her an amused look. “You want a white Christmas, M?”

“Hell yeah, I do,” she laughed, watching the snow. “It’s my first one, I wanna hit all the fuckin’ cliches from Earth vids we can.”

“Duly noted,” Kaidan grinned. “Now, I believe you said something about bed?”

“I did,” Miranda laughed, and followed him down the hall.

Kaidan’s prediction proved correct; the snow did stick around for Christmas. Enough so, in fact,  to make their neighborhood picturesque as a greeting card. Miranda was thrilled, which Kaidan promptly teased her for. She was too excited to care, curled up on the sofa in a snuggly warm sweater and mismatched Christmasy socks, her one concession to ‘holiday spirit’ wardrobe-wise.

“You can tease me later, Alenko,” she laughed, whacking the couch cushion next to her. “Sit your ass down and let’s do presents.”

Kaidan chuckled as he complied. “Impatient, are we, M?”

“Abso-fucking-lutely.” Miranda grinned. “I got you the best present ever and I wanna see you open it.”

“Oh, well, we’ll see about that,” he ribbed, something serious yet mischievous in his eyes.

She almost called him on it, but the opted to instead reach over and snag the small box with his present from under the Christmas tree. “Merry Christmas, K,” she said, grinning like a kid in a candy store as she handed it over.

Kaidan was half-smiling even before he had the clumsily-done wrapping stripped off. It turned into a full smile of flat-out astonishment when he saw the small metallic case. “Alright, Shepard, who did you threaten or blackmail or whatever to get this?”

“That’s hurtful,” Miranda said with a laugh, miming a hand over her heart as she watched him pull the slim black omnitool band from its resting place. “I just reminded a couple of Saronis Applications board members of the part we both played in saving the Citadel a few years back and the damn galaxy far more recently, pointed out it would probably boost sales even more to say one of the Spectres used their latest tech, and there ya go.”

“You were diplomatic for me?” Kaidan smirked. “I’m touched.” He secured the omnitool to his wrist and tapped it to life, glancing admiringly over the readouts before closing it down. “It looks great, M. Now.” He reached down next to his side of the couch and pulled up a box, both larger and better wrapped than her gift had been. “Your turn.”

“Already trying to outdo me?” she teased, tucking back her hair before tugging on the vibrant red ribbon tied around the box. “This is almost a work of art, K. You get to wrap all the birthday present from here on out.”

“Only if you buy all the birthday presents from here on out,” he countered with a smile that belied his nervously fidgeting hands.

“Deal,” Miranda agreed promptly, tugging away the wrapping paper. She could handle brightly lit and noisy stores so he wouldn’t have to if he would handle the wrapping so she didn’t have to. She carefully opened the box-

And found another box, just as neatly wrapped as the first one. She narrowed her eyes at Kaidan. “You bastard.”

“That would sound a lot more intimidating if you weren’t laughing,” Kaidan said, grin plastered across his face. “Keep going.”

Inside that box, there was another box. Miranda balled up the paper and threw it at him before opening that box. To find another box. “Kaidan-!”

“Just one more, I promise,” he cut her off.

Miranda gave a long-suffering sigh and very dramatically opened the last box. Inside was another box. Only this one was small, velvet, and instantly recognizable. Miranda’s head snapped up and she raised an eyebrow at Kaidan. “Really?”

He nodded, grinning wide. “Really.”

“You wanna shackle yourself to this hot mess forever?” she joked, gesturing at herself and wiggling the toes of her bad foot for emphasis.

“Longer,” Kaidan said, still grinning as he reached over at took the box from her. He flicked it open to reveal--as requested--a simple platinum band, gleaming against its red velvet cushion. “Miranda, will you-”

“Yes.”

“Dammit, will you let me finish the question, Shepard?” he laughed.

“Sorry.” Miranda’s voice lacked any hint of an apology. She folded her hands in her lap and shot him a mischievously expectant look. “Ask away, Major.”

“Miranda, will you marry me?”

“Oh, hell yes!” she said fervently, pulling him into a fierce and passionate kiss before even giving him a chance to slide the ring on her finger, a fact he rectified when they broke apart for air. “‘Bout damn time,” Miranda teased softly.

“Oh, hush, you,” Kaidan laughed, and kissed her again.

“So,” Miranda began, after several more minutes of making out that almost landed them on the floor at least twice. “For Ash’s party tonight... do we tell people, or just wait from them to notice on their own?” She held out her hand, looking at the ring again.

“Oh, definitely option B,” Kaidan said, capturing her hand to press a kiss against her palm. “It’ll be more fun that way. And we have observant friends; the cat’ll be out of the bag pretty quick.”

“I like the way you think,” she chuckled, tracing his jawline with her fingers. “I might kiss you for that.”

“Hang on, I have to check with my fiancée,” Kaidan deadpanned, barely holding back another grin. “Should make sure it’s alright with her before I kiss a war hero.”

“I think it’s okay,” Miranda whispered, moving in for the promised kiss. “Very okay.” She linked her hands against the back of his neck, the cool metal of her ring making both of them grin.

Kaidan had very clearly won this Christmas, Miranda conceded to herself as she kissed her fiance breathless, but that was alright. There was always next year.

And all the years after it.

Apples in Space

I wrote this fic as part of a trade with @hashtag-no-lyfe! She is an incredible artist and it was absolutely wonderful to work with her and to learn about her Miranda Shepard :)

The doors to the starboard cabin hissed open, the only sound on the otherwise silent crew deck.

Kaidan sat in a lounge chair, a book in his hands. He looked up and saw Miranda standing in the doorway, exhaustion clear on her face.

"Can't sleep?" He said, sitting upright in the chair.

"As usual. I stared at my ceiling for about an hour counting the number of upgrades available for each individual assault rifle in our armory, and then I started feeling pathetic so I figured I should get out of my cabin for a while before I completely lose my mind."

Kaidan laughed. He looked her over, his heartbeat rising steadily the longer she stood before him.

"Also, I hit my damn head getting out of the elevator again. That thing is meant for tiny people, I swear." She said, rubbing the back of her head.

"Have I ever mentioned I'm really into tall women?" Kaidan replied, his voice smooth.

Miranda laughed.

"Only a hundred times."

Miranda approached Kaidan as he stood up, planting a firm kiss on his lips which almost knocked him back down into the chair.

“I'm sorry you can't sleep, but I'm glad you're here. Want to watch a vid or something?” Kaidan asked.

Miranda thought about it. Whenever she was doing something just for leisure, she felt guilty and unproductive. But it was late, and she knew there wasn’t much to do until the morning anyway.

“Which one?” She asked.

“Oh man, this one so bad that we have to watch it. It's called Apples in Space. It’s about a salarian farmer on Sur’Kesh who gets his farm taken over by the salarian mob and ends up creating an army of hyper-intelligent varren to take his farm back. It is spectacular.”

“Oh my god, that sounds so unbelievably awful. We have to watch it right now.” Miranda replied, smiling.

Kaidan pushed a button to close the shutters over the room's massive window and placed a small device on the ground in front of the couches. A holographic screen was projected out from the top of the device and the movie began to play.

Miranda plopped down on the couch and arranged it so her feet were up on an ottoman, and Kaidan sat down beside her.

“Ugh, I can’t believe in the 22nd century vids still have previews. Can we skip over them?” Miranda said.

She felt her face grow warmer as Kaidan leaned in close to her, moving to where he was not even an inch away from her lips.

“Or we could find a way to pass the time during the previews.” Kaidan said, almost in a whisper.

Their lips met and Miranda wrapped her arms around the back of Kaidan’s neck, gently pulling him in closer to her. Kaidan immediately puts his fingers through her dark hair, caressing her cheek in the process.

The previews droned on and their lips didn’t part for a single moment throughout them. Both of them felt a familiar pleasurable ache in their jaws as they discovered each other’s tongues for what seemed like hours.

Kaidan heard the sound of the actual movie starting and a wave of sadness flooded through him. He’d kiss her forever if he could.

Their lips parted gently and Miranda put her hand on Kaidan’s cheek, rubbing it gently with her thumb.

“I’ve decided I like the stubble. It’s really sexy on you. Well, everything is, but that's especially so. Also, we should definitely make out like teenagers like that more often.”

“I would be more than happy to oblige, Commander.” Kaidan replied.

“Alright, let’s watch this train wreck of a vid. I’m stoked.” Miranda said, leaning into Kaidan’s shoulder. He put his arm around her and hugged her tightly to him.

It had been about an hour into the vid, and Miranda’s eyes were glued to the screen. She was sitting up, leaning forward with her hands covering her mouth. She turned back to look at Kaidan, a horrified expression on her face.

“This vid is…it’s just all wrong Kaidan! Everything is wrong! They’re holding their weapons the wrong way, someone just called that pistol an SMG and I don’t think there is even such a thing as the salarian mob! Oh my god, this vid is so bad I may just die right here and now. All our work wasted, because Apples in Space is what killed me.”

“Do you love it?” Kaidan replied with a laugh, a satisfied grin on his face.

Miranda turned her gaze back towards the vid.

“I love it.” She said softly.

They spent the next hour alternating between laughing incredulously at the ridiculousness of what they were watching and pausing the vid every once in a while to get lost in each other’s lips yet again. Finally the vid ended and the credits rolled down the screen.

They both paused a moment and looked at each other.

“That movie changed my life, Kaidan. I am a changed woman.” Miranda said, her tone dead serious but a smile on her face.

“I figured as much.” Kaidan replied, smiling. He stretched his arms out behind him and let out a big yawn.

“Oh man, what time is it?” Miranda asked.

Kaidan glanced down at his watch.

“About 3 am.”

“Damn, that movie went by so fast I lost track of time.” Miranda said.

Miranda laid her head down on Kaidan’s lap, curling herself up on the couch. He reached down and kissed the top of her head. She let out a small yawn and closed her eyes for a moment, exhaling deeply.

“Was that a yawn I heard? Think maybe you can get some rest now?”

Before she could answer, Kaidan heard a soft snore coming from his lap. He smiled, grateful to see her resting. Before he knew it, he himself had also dozed off.

They both slept on the couch for a little while, until a noise woke Miranda up. She lifted up her head from Kaidan’s lap, slightly disoriented. Kaidan was woken up by her movement.

“You okay?” He said, still half-asleep.

“Yeah, I’m just surprised I fell asleep is all. That vid sucked the life out of both of us I guess.”

Kaidan let out a soft chuckle and they both sat upright on the couch, shoulders slumped forward.

“Come to bed with me? We still have a few hours before we need to be up again.” Miranda asked, rubbing her eyes.

“Of course.” Kaidan said, sleepy smiles on both their face.

I did a galaxy and an N7 background...but both didnt look right to me so I went with this blue one. maybe ill upload them someday idk...but I am pretty happy with this overall!
