Decided to draw all of the Batgirls so here’s the three official Batgirls, the Batgirl who isn’t official but should be, and two who were Batgirls for about ten minutes, but I like them so I count them. I think this is all of them?

I drew Cass as Black Bat because I thought that all of them should be present in a non-Batgirl context and Cass doesn’t really have one? But I like the Black Bat costume better than Orphan.

I’ve had some Charlie thoughts and how a lot of the way that Barbara initially treats her is wrapped up in the fact that Cass has gone off the grid post looking for Shiva and might’ve been going through her brainwashing arc plus the fact this is all after Babs slipped up and asked if Cass was stupid because she didn’t know her letters yet.

And then here comes this plucky teenage redhead with a homemade costume because she was inspired by a hero who wore a bat on their chest and a cape, wow, I wonder how that feels?

And this girl wants to be Batgirl. Wants to be mentored. Wants Barbara to teach her. But Barbara turns her away, is harsh, shows the bullet that crippled her, shows Stephanie’s autopsy pictures.

Barbara thinks it’s safer. But she’s not just that, she also is haunted by how she messed up with Cass. She doesn’t want to do it again.
