Second discussion point: Considering that the quarians a) have their own (well, shared) ark and presumably their own pathfinder, and b) hate AI due to the geth, is it possible that the quarians that made the journey are not only geth sympathisers, but that some geth made the journey with them? A Geth pathfinder maybe?
Let’s look at what we know
From the wiki:
Keelah Si'yah - The quarian ark, also designed to carry drell, hanar, elcor and volus. The varied biological needs of this ark's population created technical complications, so its launch was delayed until after the first wave's departure. It is not expected to arrive in Andromeda for some time. It is later discovered that the Keelah Si'yah did indeed make it to Heleus, after Ryder hears a distress call from the ark. The location of the quarian ark was not broadcasted, as it is currently unsafe and presumably under hostile attack from the kett.
The launch was delayed - it doesn’t tell us when but the timeline says it’s still in 2185. That’s before ME3 begins. The quarians retreated to prepare for a full war against the geth.
I would say it’s unlikely that there would be geth inside the ark but considering they were okay leaving the flotilla and okay with SAM, I wouldn’t say it’s impossible.
@miss-arcadia Oh okay. Well I made Anora Queen, so Loghain got what he wanted anyway lol. Maybe one day I’ll grow to like him, who knows! I used to find Jowan super annoying and just recently started to like him. Though Jowan didn’t cause Duncan’s death. :( Poor Duncan.
@sabriel :D
Yo Tavs, are you up to Elaaden yet? I have feels and things that I want to talk about!
I haven’t been there yet! I think I just unlocked the location this morning! I learned that there’s a krogan who thinks the krogan should be in control of Andromeda. Considering that the Nexus used them for their brute strength, then patted them on the back for it & failed to integrate them into society on the same footing as everybody else, repeating the history of the Rachni wars ABSOLUTELY ELEGANTLY, I’m. Very not prepared to repeat the history of the genophage somehow, and I think the krogan have every reason to be upset and suspicious. And I don’t get how this jump between “krogan feel it’s unfair to be mistreated” and “krogan want to rule the galaxy with an iron fist” is realistic, when Mass Effect 3 spent so much time explaining that they “deserve to live” because being warlike is an unfair stereotype of them, they’re more complex! Or was that story arc more a pretense for putting a hello kitty band aid on Mordin’s sins, than a vehicle for revealing information about krogan that the series was prepared to be consistent with or authentically compassionate about? Anyways, it would be absolutely unquestionably wrong for the krogan to try to conquer the Angara, but I feel like the writers are presenting it as scary to think of krogan in charge of the Milky Way factions in Andromeda, instead of humans and turians and salarians. Which suggests that we should think that humans and turians and salarians are intrinsically BETTER than krogan? And I take issue with that.
I’m concerned that this business about a warlord caricature – sorry, character! – might be building up to trying to place doubt in the player’s mind that krogan are indeed on the same level as humans and turians and salarians, to pave the way for some more fake gray morality. I hope I’m proven wrong but \(._. )/ BioWare made the game, and they do love to add throwbacks to Mass Effect 2
almost there & that’s the storm that’s brewing lol
If the emotional palette thing is still going: Sparks (The Matrix), hungover palette 29 :D
“Hey, Captain? Could ya - y’know - keep it down a bit over the line? Some of us are trying to recover from a slightly self inflicted headache...”
... i need to draw this dude more often oh my gosh...
I have two discussions points for you, so there's another ask coming. First off: Remember how the Ancient AI on Voeld is supposed to be angaran, yet it says the angara aren't their people? Could the AI be a Jaarden AI or a Jaarden themselves? If so, is it possible that the Jaarden could be a benelovent reaper analogue for Andromeda? Creating the angara as literal offspring?
Wow, so many interesting things to discuss. 1. The angara: I think they're their own people. I would basically ask the question: are you not your own if a God has created you? I think you are.The only way you wouldn't be is if you lack freedom: freedom to do good, freedom to do bad. The angara might have been created by the Jaardan but as far as we know, they're free. The only times we see them possibly lacking freedom is when they're connected to past memories. It has a profound change on how they act and think. 2. The AI: I can't know for sure if it's truly a creation made by the Angara or the Jaardan, but your question begs another: can the angara accomplish things on their own? I think the answer is definitely yes. We know they are quite advanced technologically. It could be the Jaardan's influence but some things might have been created long after the Jaardan disappeared. It's a bit like the Reapers: all the species in the Milky Way used their technology to "advance" but they still had their own accomplishments. 3. The Jaardan compared to the Reapers: I think the danger with having the angara created by the Jaardan is that the comparison would be: Jaardan=Leviathan Angara=ReapersWhat is interesting is that the Reapers turned against their creators. 4. Jaardan as benevolent: I don't know yet. We've seen their creations can do good or bad, so it's hard to tell right now.
It's still early so I don't feel like I quite understand MEA lore like I do the trilogy lore, so I would love for people to comment on this. Multiple opinions would really help!
Don't worry, I didn't realise that I could scan a system either! I only found out when trying to do a side quest...days later...
I was so done like “WHERE IS THE ANOMALY!!!!! WHERE IS IT SUVI!!!!!!”
and that’s when I noticed I could scan the system....
Like “oops, that explains a lot”
