i voted for the mitras reader but now i'm rethinking it😭😭 tbh i would read anything you write but we already got a taste of emperor levi. also, it will be quite interesting to see levi navigate around a mute reader.

To be honest? I can't decide what I want to write about haha. Hence why I did the polls. I probably write about all of them and just make the fanfiction a little shorter (like 5 chapters each).

Mitras reader has been certainly around my head for quite some time now, but I desperately want to discover the mute topic because I had selective mutism so... idk what to choose 😭😅

What am I wearing: right now i am in the comforts of my home so i am wearing a grey t-shirt dress which has a small heart on the side with nothing else. But i was wearing a white shirt with embroidered flowers this morning with slim fit jeans and shoes so yeah

Mithras, Heroic god of light

The god worshiped by the Roman cult of the Mithraic mysteries, a mystery religion that was practiced in the Roman Empire from about the 1st to the 4th century CE. To the Romans, the mysteries were regarded as having originated from Persian or Zoroastrian sources and then brought to Rome as some sort of exotic religion, and in fact, a god/being named Mithras does exist in both Zoroastrian and Vedic mythologies as bringers of light and order, but they bear little resemblance to the Roman god in many aspects including depictions, stories, rituals and so on. Mithras is characterized mainly by sculptures and structures dedicated to the god found by archeologists, but without any written record detailing the mysteries having been found to this day, almost nothing is known for sure about any of it, and lots of speculation, educated guesses and misinformation runs rampant about the god even among scholars. Among the sculptures found, three of them are pretty well known, the first one, depicting the god slaying a bull as a sacrifice under the watch of the gods Sol and Luna, the second one depicting him having a celebratory banquet with Sol over the bull's hide, and the last one depicting his birth, emerging as a fully grown adult completely naked from a chunk of rock. His temples, little private underground chambers called "Mithraeum" were rich with symbols of the sun, moon, star and zodiacal signs, leading many to believe that the religion had strong astrological connotations. Mithra himself was portrayed as a young man dressed in typical Anatolian clothing, with a Phrygian cap, usually holding a knife or a torch, and with a cape emblazoned with the stars on the inside. To join the cult you had to be initiated in it through some connections and by passing some tests. Only men were allowed to join, with the cult being especially popular among the Roman military. It's early secretive origins were also very similar to the early days of Christianity in the Roman Empire at the same time, with both religions, along with many others, competing to claim December 25th as a day of celebration to their own gods. This and some other facts has lead some scholars to claim the two religions were actually early rivals, although many dismiss this as too big of a stretch to make.

One more thing from the same anon who asked about RBA and the Fritz—I was on the aot wikia and got confused. What is Mitras? Is it a capital city within Wall Sina, or is a term that refers to all of the land within Wall Sina? Also, is there any clue as to how large the Underground beneath Mitras is? In Chapter 51, it seems as if all/most/? of Wall Rose's inhabitants were able to take shelter there.

Mitras is the capital city, located within Wall Sina. It’s the location of royal residences and governmental buildings. 

The Underground is something we discussed quite a bit about three years ago but I’m not sure we came to any conclusions. 

In ACWNR “the underground” is a “vast city” directly below the capital (Mitras) (where all the palaces and royals are).In the manga, it is first presented as an abandoned development of a city below Stohess, a much more modest town, 200+ kilometer from the capital.The place the refugees of Wall Rose are taken to in chapter 51 is called the “underground city inside of Wall Sheena” and no specific location is given.

In Ch65, Kenny’s sister is working at a brothel in “the underground city”. Again, making it sound like an active community with people and businesses.

So you see it’s a bit of a worldbuilding mess. I think in the end we decided there might be multiple undergrounds, one below Mitras and another below Stohess.There may be others. Given how extensive the Reiss Cavern was, I wouldn’t be surprised at all.

Also, while you are researching for your fic, this map is super old but I still use it as reference for the action that takes place. The question mark on the map we now know is “Orvud District”, the one marked “Nedley” might actually be “Utopia”. Also not on the map, the Reiss chapel is in the territory of Wall Rose to the north of Orvud.  I’m sure the snk wiki has an update somewhere, but as far as where things happen, it’s a solid map. The timeline on the snk wiki is also fantastic!
