Okay so…correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t it make more sense for Chat Noir to have the power to cleanse akumas? Ladybug’s power is creation and Chat Noir’s is destruction, so why isn’t Chat Noir the one destroying the evil in the akuma? What does creation have to do with cleansing?
Also, wouldn’t it make the power levels between Ladybug and Chat Noir more even if Chat Noir was given the power to cleanse the akumas? Ladybug and Chat Noir are supposed to be equals, but right now Ladybug has Lucky Charm, purifying the akuma, and Miraculous Ladybug, while Chat Noir only has Cataclysm. To fight the akumas it is necessary to have Ladybug because of this, but you could always substitute Chat Noir. Idk but it kind of rubs me the wrong way. The power imbalance paired with the glorification of Ladybug and humiliation of Chat Noir is another issue the writers created that further deepens the power difference, but that’s another problem I won’t get into now.
All that I want is a series that actually paints Chat Noir as an equal partner for Ladybug, instead of it feeling like he’s just a sidekick there for comedic relief. God knows that that probably won’t happen though with all of the shit Astruc says
