The asks about flaws and strengths etc got me wondering about one of my favorite blorbo/chewtoys in that context.

With Chloé/Queen Bee are you aiming to show something like:

Strength- bloodyminded efficiency/presence/queenliness

Flaw-ignoring any and all costs of the above/dehumanizing anyone not a part of her circle

Or am I very off base?

Yeah, I'd say that's accurate! She's very pumped about being a hero, but it's her way (and/or, well, Ladybug's way if applicable) or the highway! Casualties be damned. This recklessness could even be taken as a recontextualization of her stunt with the train in canon, y'know.

She's also very clique-y with how she thinks, I suppose. Her and the other heroes are the Somebodies, and everyone else is the Nobodies. While this informs her disregard for civilians in service of ass-kicking, it also means she tries hard to banter with them and considers them all her friends—even if they, knowing who she is without the mask, do not feel the same. This comes up directly in the second half (quarter?) of the issue we're currently publishing.

Her more aggressive, overconfident nature is fun, and we're thinking of giving RenaBee more of a spotlight soon as they play off of each other quite well.

Was there ever a Multimouse incident in TWEOS?

Also, I think I remember you mentioning Queen Bee happened but it wasn’t the focus, and Chloe didn’t reveal her identity. Idk if that’s still canon (if it ever was), but did Chloe’s costume design change at all?

Chloé is, in my conception of TWEoS, Queen Bee for an incredibly short amount of time! She quits after a week because she finds it boring—This is the funniest thing I could think of to excuse her being "replaced" by Luka in the Main 5.

I'll probably say it again if/when I post another lineup of everyone's designs, but it's intentional that most of the heroes don't look like their animals whatsoever. I'm sure if you wanted to try and connect it back to what I said about Apollonian/Dionysian extremes, they're all very Apollonian on account of them doing their jobs & playing their roles as intended!

Queen Bee is meant to be inspired mainly by 2000s-era fashion standards, hence the tight pants and exposed midriff. Likewise, I thought it was fun to make her outfit an homage to The Bride's jumpsuit in Kill Bill.

As for Multimouse, I don't think Marinette would ever agree to use a miraculous other than the Ladybug outside of unifications. In her mind, being Ladybug is part of the deal she made, so using any other "lesser" miraculous would be like if someone tried to convince her to swap out her Vespa for a tricycle. Nuh-uh. No way. ...But also, she doesn't want to bother handing out the other zodiac miraculouses, so no Polymouse either. I've drawn Multimouse anyways just for fun, but keep in mind her existence is only hypothetical.

OG5 Headcanon: The kids all have their own fighting style.

Ladybug: Half improvise, half overthink.

She doesn't know any specific martial art, but common sense gets you far. Firm feet to maintain balance, "I wouldn't want to get hit there, so I'll hit there", "If their attack doesn't connect, they won't hurt me", etc. She's VERY aware of the tools at her disposal, what she can do with them, and the environment, which is why she makes such good use of the yo-yo.

Chat Noir: He knows enough to be efficient while being unorthodox.

Adrien is free as Chat Noir, and he brings that freedom to his more chaotic and unconventional fighting style. He has a solid foundation in martial arts to build his own style while also making it functional—an improvisation with a more practical approach, so to speak. We also see him constantly making the most of his fencing skills.

Rena Rouge: She's going to kick your ass.

Alya is the sister of a professional kickboxer, so she's learned a thing or two from Nora, whether directly or indirectly. She's also a superhero nerd, so you're definitely going to get hit by a Superman Punch or a Raider Kick. As a bonus, she has three sisters and actively looks after two of them, both of whom are quite mischievous. She knows how to handle multiple opponents at once and how to protect her team.

Queen Bee: Elegance above all else.

Her eight years of ballet training are evident, kicks and pirouettes are the main menu. She's also very good at talking trash to provoke villains, whether to distract them, make them lose their composure, or simply because the blonde was having a bad day. As Ladybug's number one fan, she's obviously going to emulate her heroine's tricks, especially with having similar weapons.

Carapace: Smooth moves.

Yes, I know, the DJ knows how to breakdance, very cliche, I know! But I don't have anything else to work with. Literally his debut was against a boxing spider, and Ladybug was the one who fought, not him! Also his power literally makes him more defensive and support, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to do the Captain America's trick or how to move when necessary. Also a spinning kick to the leg WILL hurt.

Seeing Ladybug reach her hand to Chloe as she pours her heart out, then later noticing Chloe wasn't keeping her promise to fix her messes, I'm reminded of how easy a toxic relationship can start from just a simple touch the moment you hear that sad story from another person.
