I imagined in season 4 that Chloe would flip between deep seated regret she doesn’t want to admit, and a burning passion for petty vengeance.

It would influence Queen Banana, with Chloe’s movie overtly being about getting back into the hero’s good graces while leaving out the perquisite mistake she made.

An “Anti-bug Returns” could even focus on these feelings being contradictory by splitting her fight into Anti-bug, her desire for vengeance, and a sentimonster of Queen Banana, a manifest feeling of her deeper regrets. We get to reuse TWO akumas and have a justified reason for doing so! Anti-bug would be updated to have a reverse coloration of the lucky charm suit of the time and would also have her sunglasses which would represent… Well, I think you can tell what it could represent.

Ladybug and Anti-bug would have a rematch, unleashing their pent up rage, and that consoling neither about their deeper troubles. Chat would fight Queen Banana (I would write this sentimonster with a drastically different temperament from Chloe. More solemn, and almost fighting out of self loathing). Anti-bug would hide the akumatized and amokized object in her room, but Queen Banana would uncover it for Chat who appealed to her that there is a way to make amends.

Marinette would get a lucky charm pointing to Chloe’s room but wouldn’t realize it in the moment. Anti-bug would get a anti-charm pointing to Queen Banana in the most overt way possible, but she would interpret it as her needing Queen Banana by her side instead of Queen Banana being the weak link.

It’s a strong episode that writes itself tbh.

There are so many options for how things could have gone that would have led to better messages in a kids show.

What are your thoughts on season 4 ladynoir conflict?

I don't mind the idea. Adrien has a bad habit of underestimating how important he is to other people, ditching them and letting them handle everything on their own when they really need his help, or waiting for them to hit him over the head to get him to help. He needs to realize that Ladybug isn't anyone's perfect savior; his help is just as valuable to her as hers is to him, and if he wants to be an equal partner, he needs to actually participate and to see himself as an equal partner who doesn't need Ladybug's prompting. Conversely, Marinette doesn't like inconveniencing other people, so she puts it on herself to be responsible for everything. She needs to realize that inconvenience is ultimately just a fact of life, and that trying to avoid it entirely is just no way to live. Issues will always come up, regardless of how prepared people think they are. At some point she needs to just hunker down and face problems instead of endlessly running away from them.

Problem is, this is not what happened. Instead, Ladybug and Cat Noir just kept waffling for an entire season (actually, three seasons, seeds of this arc were planted all the way back in S2), until Kuro Neko came in swinging to say that no, you guys, the actual problem here is that Cat Noir is in love with Ladybug, and that he simply cannot function when she's ignoring him like this. You know, despite the fact that this was never a factor in previous seasons and the fights he and Ladybug kept having were always about her keeping him in the dark and how all the extra heroes were making him feel like he wasn't contributing anything anymore. Basically, the writers resolved this conflict by inventing a new one out of whole cloth.

so i was having autism time with @yaboieif when we started talking about felix graham de vanily and i came to an excellent realization

so you know at the end of season 5, where they show all the heroes together and felix is part of them? yeah that always irked me. for several reasons actually-

1. argos is publicly felix graham de vanily. everyone (or at least everyone at the diamonds dance) saw him transform. they know it’s felix (or even adrien agreste) but even if devices weren’t allowed at the event like the secret meeting at the agreste mansion, then word of mouth certainly would’ve done it. also, i think most people probably figured out his little stunt with redmoon wasn’t an akumatization, via interviews or other reporting

2. felix has always had an angle, no matter whose side he was on. this is more clearly seen in the later seasons, firstly in season 4 when he betrays ladybug in order to get the peacock to have control over his (and adrien’s, and kagami’s) safety. secondly, he works with kagami in season 5 to take gabriel down, NOT TO HELP LADYBUG NECESSARILY, but the key motive is taking gabriel down. it’s always been his agenda, even if he ends up helping ladybug in the process.

therefore, when i saw him in the finale standing with the other heroes, with a stupid protagonist goody-goody smile on his face, something didn’t sit right. where was the angle?

i’ll FREAKING TELL YOU the angle, gents. who do we see prominently featured as a villain in the new trailers for s6, other than cerise?
