Oh we are SO BACK!!!

Have some Porter and Treasure Summit outfits!

I know that we didn’t actually get to see Treasure at the Summit, but I think it’s fun to put them in fancy vampire ball clothes!!

So, the inspiration for all of the Solaire’s outfits is predator and prey. Each member of the Clan is one or the other, and they are often (but not always) paired. In this case, Porter is the predator and Treasure is the prey.

Treasure’s gown was intentionally styled, at least in it’s cut, after Morticia Adams. Game recognizes game, and Treasure knows that nobody has ever done it like Mrs. Adams. Their hair is styled in intentional, careful spirals, which actually matches with Angel’s hairstyle, albeit unintentionally. The handprints, both on Treasure’s hips and their throat, are Porter’s hands. The lily white of their gown is double lined so that the red that lines the sleeves doesn’t show through. If they hold their arms correctly, their red of their sleeves and their razor sharp nails can be completely hidden. That’s the appeal of Treasure’s outfit as the ‘prey’ in their pair. If you look hard enough, they could be the predator too.

Porter’s outfit is all about restraint. He’s not part of William’s court. He’s not a prince. He shouldn’t dress like one. Porter’s outfit is inspired by the toned down, hide in the background look of security guards. He’s identifiable as a Solaire, since they all have this same white and blood-splattered look, but his is by far the most toned down. The splash of blood over his face and down his front is real blood, and Treasure’s at that. The stain on his gloves/sleeves and pant legs is just that-stain. He’s wearing Solaire ruby earrings. The blood on his hands and face adds a security measure for himself as well; if he needs to, he can kill someone without worrying too much about the aftermath or announcing it to the entire party.

The lovely @zozo-01 and I have been scheming away in our DMs to bring you the lovers to enemies masquerade slow dance of your dreams! and by dreams, I maybe mean nightmares?

We're all very excited for whatever the Monarchal Summit is, so until it's actually here it's time to fantasize about the Quinn + Darlin' slow dance at a masquerade ball - because there's nothing quite as intense for a plot than a slow dance with your enemy.

No-masks version and maybe some rambles under the cut!

Not gonna lie to y'all, pretty much the only reason there's a no-masks version is that my Darlin's defining feature is definitely the scar over the bridge of their nose, and their mask covers it up.

Some rambles, because I can:

I originally thought about putting Darlin' in blue -- I normally associate Darlin with red as a character, but I associate the Shaw pack with blues, mostly navy and steel blue. Our lovely Zo proposed purple as the perfect compromise.

Y'all know I'm a slut for symbolism, and this art is no exception. Let's talk about the feature point of a masquerade: the masks.

Darlin wears a relatively simple but elegant mask that, when combined with their bangs, covers a decent portion of their face, including the aforementioned scar. It's not easy to tell from the angle, but the mask is wider than most and travels further down the nose than most. Despite covering more of the face, this mask displays what Darlin' is - a wolf shifter, in a room full of vampires. While Darlin' might hide behind being the Big Bad Wolf, my Darlin', in particular, considers their wolf to be a deep, intrinsic part of themselves, more so than any other trait they can be assigned. They're all wolf, all the way down, and being a wolf is when they feel truly free to be themselves. Here, with so much bare skin and scars bared, out of their comfort zone, Darlin' finds comfort in knowing who and what they are.

Quinn, on the other hand, is wearing thornless gold roses. Gold roses mean, technically, true friendship and joy. Things Quinn might have been to Darlin', at one point, but for the most part things that can be ascribed to his manipulation of others. He's dressed opulently, he draws attention. And he might look pretty, but he definitely isn't thornless, and he certainly doesn't bring true friendship and joy to anyone other than himself. Perfectly put together, Quinn here is the picture of an antagonist obsessed with himself. He hides in the image he wants others to see, not noticing the irony in what he's showing to those who already know who he really is. He's overconfident, enough to ask Darlin' to dance at a Solaire event, and everyone knows overconfidence breeds mistakes.

Anyway if you got this far, thanks for reading! You know there was almost an expertly positioned moon in this drawing. I took it out though, because it didn't fit the setting, but it looked cool for a hot sec while it was there. Just a fun fact for reading this far. Also, they're totally dancing to Danse Macabre, William would absolutely have it played, it's French and he seems like the type to find it amusing.

Well, this one is about lovely and Vincent, BUT, featuring also @readyandnot 's Lovely because our lovely's are dating together, dating Vincent.

I know it sounds crazy but I promise is not. So Calvin and Aline (my lovely and Sky's lovely, respectively) canonically are both turned, but this is an AU where only Aline is turned, and Calvin is not, which leads to a lot of... problems, I suppose, thanks to miscommunication.

This takes place in the Monarchal Summit, I hope you like it<3

The Monarchal summit was a big party where all the old bloods and vampires from different countries reunited; it was a beautiful event full of elegance and professionalism. William as not only the Clan's king; but as the host this year, wanted to make sure that everybody felt welcomed that night, specially the people of his own clan, his family. And everybody seemed to feel welcomed and happy to be there in said party, except for one person.

Calvin, who was spending the worst night of his life just by existing.

He understood that he and Aline would be popular between the old bloods, they're Vincent's partners, and Vincent is popular being William's second progeny. He gets that, he does.

But he doesn't like the comments they make, not at all.

"I suppose you feel unlucky that she was turned first, aren't you?"

One; that's not polite.

"It has to feel like such a weight to be now the only human of the relationship, right?"

Two; that was really mean.

"Oh if I was the boy I'd distant myself to let them spend their immortal life together in peace! If he's not sure about being turned, then why is he making them suffer?"

Three; he's fucking done.

"Hey. I'm really tired— you know, being human, I still need sleep." Aline turned to face him, and she greeted him with her fangs. Calvin smiled slightly, tired-looking. "I'll go upstairs to one of the bedrooms, okay?"

"Sounds great, love. I'll tell Vincent, we will wake you up for the dance if that's alright?"

"Yeah of course, g'night baby." Aline chuckled, and Calvin smiled one last time before walking to the stairs. He kept hearing comments in the distance between the tables and the stairs, and everytime he heard his name slipping off of someone's mouth he flinched, feeling the weight on his chest growing up.

Milo, David, Asher, and Babe's Summit outfits are in!

Finally finishing up my series on the pack's Summit outfits!! I'm very pleased with how these all turned out and how they look together! Let's break down the last four outfits in the series!

Milo's outfit is paired perfectly with Sweetheart's. His suit was made with the same dreamy, iridescent fabric and it flows in a similar, loose style. His lapels are lined with small pearls and he has a pearl choker that sits tight on his throat. Milo utilized his own jewelry for the outfit, matching his sets of silver rings and Marie's silver and mother of pearl rosary perfectly to the outfit. Milo came to the designer with exact measurements and references for the cut of his suit, and it turned out runway ready!

In contrast to Milo's sleek, dramatic design, David's suit is simple. Based off of the one black suit that he owns for special occasions, David stressed how important it was that he felt natural in it. He didn't want anything too stiff, too fitted, too stuffy or fancy. He wanted to project confidence and that meant he had to be comfortable. He also wasn't interested In wearing anything groundbreaking or fashion forward. A simple suit would have done for him. With Angel's suit design in mind, the designer added in a bow blouse with a dramatic, flowing tie to give him a bit of a wow factor. The ribbons ended up being tossed over his shoulders like a scarf so they wouldn't get in the way.

Asher's only instruction for the designer was "make it slutty." They took it to the extreme. The corset is lined with the same ribbon that Angel and David utilize in their outfits and culminate in a pronounced bow on his back. The pants are loose and slitted, and he can show off the majority of his legs and thighs high boots in them with just a swish. The pearls on his chest were actually last minute additions. He was ecstatic when he saw the outfit, but he realized how prominent his scars were when he put it on for the first time. He very nearly put a shirt on under the corset, but Milo suggested that Asher dot his scars with the extra pearls meant for Sweetheart's hair. Asher loved the idea, and it saved the outfit for him.

Babe's only requirements were that they would match Asher and that their outfit wouldn't be as revealing as Asher's was bound to be. The fitted, traditional tux they were given fits them like a glove. Highlighted by a matching corset and pearl details, Babe ends up being the most traditionally dressed of the group. Babe has never been one to wear white, worried that they'd stain it, but the suit was so beautiful they didn't mind. When they get home from the Summit, they realize that there is a smudge of vampire ash on their right sleeve.

And finally, the whole pack is together!! The over arching details (ribbons, pearls, and sheer or exposed sections) are intentionally delicate and pretty. Their color scheme leans into the themes, pastel with harsher pops, the only color breaking their scheme being blood red. David and Angel, the Alpha and his mate, are dressed in the harshest color while their pack, the strength behind the leader, is left soft. The Shaw's designs set off a few decades of lighter colors and details in the Summit, finally diverging from the grungy, sexy emo vibes from Vincent's first appearance. It's the first that a group of non-vampires attended the Summit, and its impact was felt for decades after.
