I’m gonna be honest
I don’t see how adding diversity makes something political?
I don’t see how adding more diversity in body figure, gender, sexuality and race is political.
Like last time I checked none of those catergories came along with tax rates or about universal health care or any ecological policies.
Ideologies are political, identities are not.
And even if things do get political (such as racial bias and laws against LGBT+) I don’t see why it’s such a bad thing to have a conversation on it to induce more education on these topics-people are just cowards and feel icky about it cos they’re to lazy to help with anything.
No one says anything about ‘A Christmas Carol’ and that shits political, it literally talks about poverty and how people should have a more socialist mindset.
“Oh but that’s a classic”
No Brian, you only accept it because it was written by a white dude.
But yes in conclusion, even though these topics CAN get political it doesn’t mean it inherently has to and 9 out of 10 times it doesn’t. Especially in children’s media, it is not political.
Another thing is “pandering”, I don’t give a shit if something is pandering towards minorities, and it’s especially confusing when people complain about pandering. If you are confused about what I’m going on about here’s a scenario:
Rational sane person: “Oh man I wish there was more racial diversity”
Totally not white cishet dude: “Go and make your own show, we don’t want any Mary Sues in MY show”
*person makes their own show*
Totally not white cishet dude: “Why do people need to pander to these people ugh the real world is not like this... this is so forced”
Oh like Shia LeBouf getting Meagan fox in Transformers is not pandering? Just because the target demographic is not cishet white dudes does not mean it is forced diversity neither does it mean it’s bad media. And if it is pandering, fuck off , this is for me not for you and I think it’s pretty neat, if your gonna complain do it in that box that you obviously keep your mind in.
In summary is that I’m just really tired of the stardard A4 white canvas and I just want a little range in size and a painting filled with colour.
I KNOW IT'S TOO MUCH TO ASK, BUT I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SEE MORE OF INDIGENOUS/ETHNIC ASIAN PRINCESSESS IN ANIMATION ON THE BIG SCREEN 😭
Diversity in MY fiction?
It's less likely than it should be.
I made Mary a POC and Asexual because I saw a lack of them. Apparently people love that- which is great! If you have a POC oc which is Asexual, do tell me! I would love to see more <3

Just thinking that Chris Pine is not only incredibly good looking, but he also delivers beautiful deep speeches about how important females and diversity are for movies and how they need to be more present in Hollywood film industry.
you were next to me but we couldn’t be more distant
