Any Muscat fans here? Today I am going to talk about this variety but in a slightly different way then the dry still white usually you can get from Alsace and other regions. Moscato d'Asti is an underrated treasure of Piedmont, Italy. A sweet sparkling wine which has seen only one fermentation and has a very low alcohol content. We have gone through the whole winemaking process in the IG Live with Vinchio Vaglio @vinchiovaglio ,check it out for more information! Now I would like to share the tasting notes. It has a pale lemon color and a medium viscosity with slight effervescence in the glass. The nose is very floral with orange blossom flower, acacia, elderflower, honeysuckle complimented with citrus fruits, grpaes and some apricots. It is a pleasantly sweet wine with medium plus acidity, low alcohol and a medium plus body. The palate show flavours of elderflower, honey, lemon, grapes with a long finish. A very good quality which best to drink while it's young and chilled to 6-8°C. Have it as an aperitif, next to creamy pasta dishes and creamy cheeses. It is the perfect choice for a wide range of sweets thanks to its bubbles and sweetness, specially with heavily creamy desserts. Which type of Muscat or Moscato is your favourite?
