Connections.
How can you connect with someone you can't understand? Ask questions. Observe. Get to the root. Instead of dissecting their actions, dissect their motives. When you sympathize with one's reasoning, whether you agree with their choices or not, you can love them through it. Occasionally people are just broken and choose to inflict that brokenness on others. But most are just faulty humans, bumbling through life, trying to find their direction like the rest of us.
