Was entranced by this photo set and uhhh made it SecUnit flavored. I think. they are neat. I like drawing their uniforms.

Someone write me a Murderathin fic where Murderbot is looking after a security fauna for someone and has to stay with Gurathin, who obviously has a pet fauna…

The two clearly show initial mutual antagonism (growling, hissing and spitting) but later happily team up and cuddle together when no one is looking…

And the cat and dog get along too…

Genuine question for ships related to Murderbot. I just noticed mb/Gurathin is more popular on ao3 than mb/mensah. This surprises me a little, would mb/gura shippers mind telling me what makes the ship so appealing?

I have read the books and watched the show (I can understand ship stuff w the show) but it never occurred me to ship them from the books🤔 to me mensah/MB felt more natural but that is me.

Also it has been a while since I last heard the latest audiobooks, so my mind is not fresh on their interactions

By shipping I mean to using the “Murderbot/gurathin” ao3 tag for defining their relationship (sexual, romantic or queer platonic) rather than “murderbot & Gurathin” tag if it makes sense?

I know mb shipping comes in many shapes and flavors but I am still curious :>

Alternate Exit Strategy by Anonymous

PresAux were unable to buy Murderbot and it has no idea they tried. A few months later, on a new assignment, it hears news that Preservation Aux's planet admin had been kidnapped! That's its favorite human! Murderbot escapes and travels to save her. (Maybe on the way it meets a self-piloting transport bot named Perihelion who agrees to help it?) How does it, or they, save her? (Any rating and any relationship between Mensah and Murderbot, with optional ART)

Murderbot canonically pays close attention to Mensah's physical appearance. But as they become more comfortable around each other, Murderbot starts to reflexively unfold its energy weapon in reaction to seeing pleasing aspects of Mensah, a behavior that looks quite threatening to Preservation residents. To train Murderbot out of this new quirk, Mensah ties something delicate and personal around Murderbot and challenges it to keep it intact while it goes to work with her.

Mensah, tano and farai are all conveniently too busy to pickup one of their kids from school, so its upto mb to pick up the little one in their stead. Has mensah listed mb on school forms as an emergency contact? How awkward is the hand-off when the mini-mensah's teachers realise that a rogue secunit has come to pick them up? Bonus: How have the events of PD affected the kid? Just a cute and utterly mundane way mb offers itself as a reliable and supportive (if awkward) presence to mensah when she's overwhelmed with too many plates to juggle, that isnt a life-or-death situation. A look into how mb has become a part of the mensah family. Any interpretation of their relationship welcome <3

Wells has said that if SecUnit had stayed and gone to Preservation after ASR, it and Mensah wouldve had something much more toxic. i dont care if its SFW, NSFW, whatever type of relationship you want to give them. i just want them even more toxic and co-dependant. maybe something with it preventing GrayCris from kidnapping Mensah and / or the fallout of it being over protective. her accidentally pressuring it into choices.

A couple of bits from later on in "New Subprocess Initiated" for #WIPWednesday

Background AU info: After running off at the end of ASR, Murderbot learned that it was an omega but that part of the company cubicle maintenance was suppressing its body's ability to present as such. By the time Network Effect rolls around, it has mostly made peace with this, only to then find out its body had decided to start growing all the parts necessary to be an actually fertile omega, and just in time to create a new life with ART's help... Basically, this is a '2.0 lives' AU, in which MB's omega nature provided the body for their little killware to fall back into just like MB fell back into its own body after the gunship fight in Exit Strategy.

These clips are after 2.0 has been born and is a fast-growing baby/toddler, and is proving itself to be a lot like MB in preferences & favorite humans, but without the trauma and other hangups :3

«Dr. Mensah!!!!» 2.0 shouted in the feed, and it was immediately reaching for her with its pudgy little arms, hands opening and closing rapidly in its excitement.  I was about to shut down from embarrassment, but Mensah just laughed gently and held out her hands towards 2.0. “May I?” she asked, and I almost didn't realize she was asking me, since 2.0 was attempting to launch itself out of my arms and into hers.  “Yeah, sure,” I muttered, and we completed the handoff safely despite 2.0’s best efforts.

Amena gasped. “Don't swear in front of the baby!” She hugged 2.0 close and actually tried to cover its ears with her free hand. Or just one ear, singular, I guess, since her other arm was supporting 2.0’s weight, which made the attempt extra pointless. “The baby swears as much as I do,” I said dryly. «Damn right,» 2.0 said into the household feed, while it just made a sort of emphatic “Ah!” sound from its mouth. Amena blinked, then gave a small snort of laughter. “Of course you do,” she sighed at 2.0, but she was smiling so it wasn't a bad sigh, “considering who your parents are.”
