So I recently became a Critter almost by accident! Someone on Tumblr compared a character I like in a very different kind of show to Scanlan in the Legend of Vox Machina. So I looked that up and thought it seemed awesome so I gave it a watch!
Hey and Scanlan was voiced by the guy who voiced 2003 Donatello, who was my favourite version of Donatello to date and the only version where I loved him more than Raphael instead of close second. Great stuff!
I then found out that the show was based on an online D&D campaign and it just seemed such a strange and unlikely but brilliant origin so I had to check that out. I'm not really a D&D player myself but I did try to get into it in early lockdown but my DM got sick and the campaign was abandoned early on.
I started to watch the Critical Role videos out of curiosity and just fell in love with the entire cast and all their characters. Obviously I am not up to date as that will take years! I've approached it in a chaotic fashion from every direction so far but may go back and try to get fully versed on C3 at least.
Added bonus is that I mentioned this in the secret nerd chat we set up at work in lockdown and found two other Critters and a whole bunch who want to play D&D and one of them is a DM herself. Now we're just trying to find a date we can all get together to play. So thank you, Critical Role!
