uhhh i dont know if this needs a trigger warning or not.

love seeing a problematic fictionkin support blog thingy. 👍 I'm a jimmy fictionkin (mouthwashing) and the shame and guilt i have as having memories of what he did to the crew is literally so overwhelming and stressful. especially with the amount of hate there is for him (ofc its justified im not saying it isnt)

if i could choose between choosing him as a fictionkin or not i would've not chosen him. but i cant control my kins 🤷

i even tried to convince myself that my kin was actually an introject, not a kin because of how bad i felt. but like ive kinda come to terms with it.

^our identities are not voluntary, save for voluntary identity labels of course. This is one of the things that infuriates us the most about the hatred for problematic fiction folk; we do not CHOOSE who we are. We just are. If we chose our kintypes our identity host wouldn't have been as utterly caught off guard by his as he was. One of our fictives is also fictionkin/double-sourced from a horrific situation, though I don't feel comfortable saying where without his permission and he's not easy to get ahold of. He wouldn't have chosen that trauma, he's already traumatized enough.

Alright rant over, I just felt particularly strongly about this.

It takes Pete a long time to wake up, his brain still full of the dregs of his dream, confusing thoughts and images floating across his mind. He wakes with no clue as to where he is, what he is or why he exists, the telltale signs of the deepest sleep of his life. Prying his eyelids open, the room was dark, faint light peeking in through the bottom of the curtains. The realisation that there was something solid in front of him is what wakes him fully, his muscles tense, the sight of the back of Vegas’s head being the first thing he registers.

All the memories from the night before flood into his mind, and Pete does not know how to proceed.
