Metamorphosis

Wrapped inside the cocoon of comfort.

Letting the soft cushions protect me from the outside world.

It’s the outside that is frightening. Not knowing what the world has enstore.

But, cracks are beginning to open. The day is coming to leave this cocoon.

Am I ready to fly? That is the question.

Has the time come to let my wings finally unfurl and soar the big blue sky?

The world is at my hands. Yet, the fear and dread keep pushing my hands down by my side.

Looming over me like a big dark cloud.

I must transform.

If I do not change, how will I ever see the colors of my wings?

It gets lonely in this cocoon of comfort. Never seeking … but wishing.

Each crack are getting deeper. The light is creeping in.

Birds are singing.

I Voted and I’m Proud

I’m back from voting today. I liked the way how the people was really there, with their mask all the time and people and from the election service was there  with free masks and rubbing alcohol for people who need it. I had the opportunity to vote "outdoors" because the voting is done in schools and classrooms except for the elderly, pregnant women and people with reduced mobility like this grandma ass. They had polling stations in the outdoor schoolyard area and I was able to sit quietly for my turn to vote. I am happy to have done my part for this change. This renewal of the Constitution of a Chile marked by a deadly military dictatorship that to this day keeps Chileans completely divided. What I hope is that if the approval wins, the people who have to do the work of changing what has to be changed will do so and not fight because while those who govern us are divided, more division will create among the people. Good luck, Chilito. There has to be a change.
