Which goblin looks cooler?
The Interrogation
The location was a sub-level maintenance tunnel beneath the financial district—a dark, claustrophobic expanse of sweating pipes and buzzing conduits. Elektra Natchios had been lured there by intentionally flawed intelligence regarding a key member of the Hand's operation.
She realized it was a trap the moment the ventilation stopped circulating and the heavy steel door slammed shut behind her, plunging the narrow corridor into near-total darkness.
Before she could fully engage her heightened senses, a sound like a high-velocity air blast preceded a swift, crushing impact. A powerful, armored figure slammed her against the concrete wall. The blow momentarily stunned her.
A second later, a cold, sharpened edge pressed against the fragile skin of her neck, just below the angle of her jaw. A voice, tight with adrenaline and manic obsession, hissed directly into her ear.
"Don't move, darling. You're very quick, but I'm faster when I don't have to worry about hitting something valuable."
It was the New Goblin. Harry Osborn, strapped into the upgraded Stark-Tech-inspired armor and glider, fueled by the conviction that Spider-Man was responsible for his father's death. He wasn't relying on theatrical bombs and cackling; he was driven by cold, personalized fury.
The blade was a wicked, silver-plated knife, custom-made to cut through high-density webbing. Its pressure was precise and paralyzing. Elektra’s training screamed at her to react, to strike, to evade, but the angle and placement of the knife negated any sudden movement. She felt the subtle shift of the Goblin's weight behind her, controlling her center of gravity.
He wasn't finished.
The Goblin used his free hand, encased in a reinforced gauntlet, to seize her right arm. With a practiced, vicious twist, he pulled her arm up and behind her midsection, locking the joint painfully high up her back.
Elektra was restrained. The pain was immediate, a searing agony in her shoulder and elbow. The combination of the knife at her throat and the extreme, vulnerable positioning of her arm made any struggle impossible without risking severe injury or death.
She forced her breathing to remain shallow and even, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a gasp or a cry.
"I know you," the Goblin whispered, his breath warm and frantic against her ear. "You're the one they call the 'silent whisper.' The killer in red. You've been circling the edges of things, cleaning up messes. But you've been talking to him, haven't you?"
"I don't know who you're talking about," Elektra managed, her voice flat, barely a breath.
The Goblin laughed, a short, humorless sound of bitter resentment. "Don't play coy! The black suit. The webs. The spider! The one who pretends to be a hero, but who destroyed my life! I know he uses people like you. Expendable parts."
He applied more pressure to her arm, twisting it fractionally higher, eliciting a sharp intake of breath from Elektra. The pain was blinding, radiating from her shoulder socket down to her fingertips.
"You're asking the wrong person," she gritted out. "I kill targets for a price. I don't have allies."
The Goblin pressed the knife further, a thin line of warm blood trickling down her neck.
"Wrong answer! He’s been seen protecting witnesses who were meant to disappear, people who worked for the same people you hunt. He’s trying to dismantle my father’s legacy, and anyone who gets close to him is a threat! Now, tell me how to find the spider! Where is his weakness? His home? His people?"
Elektra used the pain, the absolute vulnerability of the position, not to break, but to focus. Her psychic senses, usually used for combat prediction, now focused intensely on the man holding her. She pushed past the rage and the armor, searching for the truth beneath the surface.
She saw flashes: Norman Osborn, the glider, the mask, and the endless, corrosive grief. But beneath the madness, beneath the vengeful quest, she saw a flicker of fear. Harry Osborn wasn't just seeking vengeance; he was desperate, alone, and terrified of being forgotten or replaced.
"You don't want to find him," Elektra said, the unexpected statement momentarily silencing him. "You want someone to blame for your life falling apart."
The Goblin flinched, his grip momentarily tightening on the arm, not from deliberate force, but from shock.
"Shut up!" he snarled. "I want justice!”
"Justice is a lie," Elektra countered, her voice dangerously calm despite the excruciating pain. "The only person you see when you look at the Spider is the man you couldn't save. And your father... he wouldn't want this mess."
The deliberate mention of his father struck Harry like a physical blow. His concentration wavered. The precise pressure of the knife, the secure lock on her arm—the focus required to maintain both was momentarily disrupted by the psychological attack.
This was her chance.
With a desperate surge of adrenaline, Elektra didn't try to pull her arm free; that was impossible. Instead, she used the momentum of her twisted arm, snapping her elbow down hard against the inside of his gauntlet, aiming for the sensitive wiring of the wrist joint. Simultaneously, she pivoted her hips and drove her left heel back with all her force, aiming for the Goblin's shin armor.
The combination of the impact on his gauntlet and the unexpected maneuver shattered the Goblin's grip. The knife scraped harmlessly away from her neck as he staggered back, his focus broken.
Elektra was free.
She spun instantly, retrieving a sai she kept concealed in her boot. The Goblin raised his knife, his eyes blazing behind the mask.
"You'll die for that!"
But Elektra wasn't fighting to win the duel; she was fighting to survive the interrogation. She knew he wouldn't stop until he got his answer.
Instead of engaging, she plunged the sai not at him, but into a cluster of high-voltage cables running along the wall beside them.
A blinding flash of blue-white light and a loud, catastrophic short-circuit filled the tunnel. Sparks rained down, and the air immediately filled with the acrid smell of burning insulation.
The Goblin recoiled, blinded and temporarily deafened by the electrical discharge.
Elektra didn't wait. Using the cover of the sparks and the darkness, she executed a rapid roll under a low pipe, leaving the tunnel through a small, forgotten access hatch.
Harry screamed in frustration, clutching his visor as the static cleared. He found only the lingering heat of the sparks and the cold, empty air where the killer in red had been.
He had failed. But he knew one thing: she had seen the Spider. And she would tell him, eventually. He just needed to find her again.
I'm not the biggest fan of Harry's "New Goblin" and suit mask -it's a cool suit as it is, just not goblin-y enough for my taste- but what I came to appreciate is how Harry's helmet mirrors Peter's mask in some ways.
Obviously the there is the classic Green v.s Red contrast but both also have something of a texture to it. Peter's got the webs obviously and Harry's has got some scaly texture to it, which is a nice nod the goblin suit in the comics. They both got big lenses that hides their eyes, Peter's being angular and dynamic and Harry's being bulkier.
They kind of break the similarities with Harry barring his forehead which is a weird thing for an helmet to do but I guess this Harry's one of the few versions with good hair so he might want to show off.
You get the impression there is the same philosophy behind these two masks : it's a mask with a slight theme attached to it.
Going in too deep but this illustrates Harry's situation very well, whether it was intentional or not : he's wearing his dad's colors but his mask is similar to Peter's, the friend he has to kill. He's in the middle of it all, as ever.
improving how I draw Dane’s face because my last try was terrible
only the head took me 3h and I still need to finish the body AND draw James’ Harry Osborn next to him💔 I’m done
