Student 2020 New Year's Resolutions
I'm noticing a lot of studyblrs with resolutions and would like to share mine for next term (I tend to goal set per term rather than per year bc my brain works best in those increments now lol thanks quarter system).
Go to office hours or study group 1-2 times a week.
Dedicate a study block each week strictly for reading the textbook.
Go to the gym 2-3 times a week.
My goals from last term and how they ended up (feel free to use as inspiration and please share your own!!)
Make Saturdays a no-study day.
Self-care Saturdays were so good to me! The only thing that required any real effort was filing my weekly reports for work but other than that, no studying was done. I took this time to take baths, plan my week, watch movies, hang out with friends. Basically everything that I hadn't prioritized earlier finally had a time for itself. The only thing I hated was the first couple hours of Saturday where I would feel pretty guilty and stressed for not using that time to study but my mental health definitely thanked me for it afterwards.
Organize a weekly study session for my friend group.
On the weeks we would actually study, this plan worked out perfectly. But a good chunk of the time we ended up either working on post labs or talking instead of actively studying what we had learned so I think these ended up not fulfilling their original purpose but rather the actual purpose that we needed.
Minimize time using technology (especially social media).
I actually spent less time on Hulu and Instagram BUT balanced it out with more time on Snapchat. Oops. 😂 But in general I spent a little less time worrying about what other people were up to, and I've been treating myself with Hulu all break to make up for it!
