needing to use nonverbal communication sometimes/a lot like a digital AAC, text to speech, sign language, communication cards, etc
me: *nonvebral for a time*
me: *says a sentence to my mom*
my brain: i can speak :0
This is a post saying to don't be afraid to use your AACs.
I had times of being semiverbal, and I know how helpful the use of AACs have been in our system.
We have complete nonverbal/ no verbility alters, semiverbal/ low verbility alters and alters that go non/semi verbal. The use of AACs have been very very helpful.
Even before we "knew" what AACs were we still used them, not knowing what it was called.
This is one of my newer paras/OCs, Moon. They're a fully nonverbal autitsic being. They're an alien monster creature. They are nonbinary and uses they/it pronouns.
As a primary protector, I am feeling glad to know of AACs our alters can use, including me. I've had fears in the past of using them, along with stimming but feel much better about it now. Use your AACs, they're helpful and needed with people with verbility issues.
