I wonder if Longarm used his friendship with Wasp to rise ranks until he became a prime and/or ask for favors that might discreetly slow the elite guard like "can you try to convince Sentinel to not go to earth? I doubt he likes the organics there"
Early on? yeah pretty much. By the time Sentinel and crew go to earth, Longarm's worked up to being a prime while Wasp's stayed firmly a commander, mostly by choice. That's all he wanted after all. Wasp and Longarm keep in touch even after all this time, finding they can at least confide in eachother. This is a bond that gets tested when both wasp and longarm go to earth though.
