day 3 - paleo reset diet, college, & another day in the life of chlo
last night i made myself go to bed (at a decent time) even though i was not done studying. i always get up early (around 6:00am) so i decided that i could study then, right? my test isn't until later today anyways.
i always put a lot of pressure on myself when it comes to school. when i got sober, i made the decision to take time off school- for i needed all of my attention to be on myself & my recovery. that being said, i'm now 2 quarters behind. paying for school has always been difficult, & these next 2 quarters are going to be so hard... i didn't think that i was going to be able to get my degree until last week, after talking to my advisor. (i've been trying to make this work since last fall quarter)
so the good news is that i think that i can make it work! i'm really hoping that i can get my degree! but on the other hand there's a lot more pressure that comes with it. (just going to note here that i am SO grateful that i am privledged enough to get a secondary education & to be worrying about these things) in order to graduate i have to overload these next 2 quarters... which is intimidating for me. i have only overloaded once & took 17 credits. i know that i can do it, but i will have to stay focused, grounded, & make sure to keep my diet & exercising up because they really help my mental health.
as for my reset diet, today is day 3 for me! every day is a huge success for me, & gotta say i'm really proud of myself for getting back onto this way of living. i also decided that i am going to do the reset diet for 40 days rather than 30... i don't have a compelling reason as to why i made that decision- it just felt right... & once i make a decision that choice is final. so there we go! as for my meals today:
lunch: salad with no dressing (chopped up kale, spinach, iceburg lettuce, raisins, almonds, & carrots... call me weird but i LOVE my veggies raw, hence no salad dressing), chopped up carrots
dinner: ground turkey with homemade tomato sauce (if you want the recipe hit the message tab above & i will post it on here later), huge salad, whatever veggies i want on the side
snacks: fruit, homemade fruit bar, snack bar, veggies lol, green tea (2 glasses), lotsa water, cup of coffee
let me note here that my breakfasts aren't really that small- i just ate it right when i wake up. i eat snacks in between breakfast & lunch. there is a chance that i will have salmon/steak/chicken in my salad as well... i'm just not sure yet lol
updated note here- i am eating more than what i included, so i added what i've eaten throughout the day. i'll take better note about this next time because i don't want people to think that they shouldn't intake enough calories. the reset diet is great because i eat whenever i'm hungry, i snack a lot, & always have something to eat on hand. the reset diet isn't about starving yourself, at all! you need to make sure that you are filling your body with the nutrients it needs!
