Are there any JB fics you are dying to write?

Ooo, what a delicious question, thank you for submitting it to me! The short answer is “Yes, an AU for every single movie I watch”. I already had several WIPs and more recently have just been besieged by a veritable storm of plot bunnies. Sadly I won’t be able to actually publish anything for a little while, as I have unavoidable commitments for a couple months, but hopefully the time will pass quickly.

There are some ideas that have little snippets (or big snippets) written, but several of them just have a feverishly-composed list of bullet points hashing out details. A non-comprehensive list is:

*A canonverse Anastasia AU

*My promised ‘lovespoons’ fic (I have not forgotten youuuu eryiscrye!)

*A canon-divergent one in which Tywin becomes Suspicious about all the Jaime-adjacent stuff happening in KL at the end of ASOS

*Die Hard AU

*Something I’ve posted a couple bits from and simply tagged as ‘unnamed historical AU’, which is technically based on a movie but has gone to Interesting Places

*North & South AU

*Not one but TWO Jurassic Park AUs

If anyone wants to know more I would be happy to share.

There's also a sequel and 1-2 prequels to ‘At Least Out Loud, I Won’t Say I’m In’, and a possible sequel to ‘A Little Less Conversation’. But most pressing of all is my current WIP that has lain fallow since March, that I’m itching to get back to as soon as possible.

I was tagged by @eryiscrye for this (thank you so much, it looked like a lot of fun, and it was! Lol I will happily take any excuse to blab the day away). I didn’t have trouble on the technical end, but I did have to record five times because everybody is stuck in the house due to the rona and I was too lazy to go somewhere other than the main living areas, lol. WIP Wednesday

Haven’t been in much of a writing headspace the past few days because of health ish (feeling much better now!), so I’m loath to give up another precious bit of the same work lest I eventually publish the whole thing on here and never on ao3. But! I do have a lot of material from other things, so here is another snippet from something that I excerpted a couple of weeks ago.

Her fingers crept inside and grasped a sort of paper, folded in on itself. It was stiff, and covered with some bumpy uneven tackiness. Strange. She registered a high, faint, melody in the distance, but was too preoccupied with the contents of the box to take much notice. Fishing around for more, she found a string of... beads, she supposed, with a plaque or charm attached. She tried to discern the design on the pendant but it wasn’t raised enough for her to make out. Frustrated, she dropped it and heard the whisper of metal as it slithered further into the box. She sifted through a book and other papers, wondering what else she could find.

The noise she had heard was growing louder, and she could just make out some bawdy tune that the men sang while in their cups. Suddenly she realized that Mr. Dayne must be just outside and about to catch her snooping. She scrambled to put everything back in the box just as she had found it — had the necklace been on top of or underneath this stack over here? — had she dropped one of the papers on the floor? — was that the scuff of his boots on the mat outside? — and finally, pulse racing, she slammed the lid shut and stumbled back towards the doorway, where a good person would have stopped in the first place.

The other door swung open and a jaunty whistle died in his throat as he froze at the sight of her. He paused — always a pause — and then came into his house. “Miss Tarth.”
