[𑣲] Can't Help But Fall In Love

summary: a simple mall hangout turns warm and confusing when you and O.de end up playing with a toy keyboard, sharing shy moments neither of you know how to label.
— 🍋: finally the second imagine of Seungmin is out, was trying to find a nice plot for him and I think I did??? but I really hope you guys like this one!!!!!! (again, another picture of him not throwing a fit or a pose, love him so much >~<) here we goooo~~~
You hadn’t meant for the hangout to feel like a date.
It was supposed to be simple — you and Seungmin grabbing snacks at the mall after schedules. Nothing fancy. Nothing deep. Just two as coworkers who happened to get along really, really well.
Except he showed up wearing a soft hoodie, hair slightly messy, hands tucked into his pockets, quietly waiting for you at the entrance…
And your heart immediately malfunctioned.
"Did you wait long?" you asked.
He shook his head quickly.
"No. I just got here."
(He had not. He’d been there ten minutes, silently panicking and pretending he wasn’t.)
You started walking side by side, the mall lights reflecting off the floor, conversation effortless and warm. Something about him always made every silence comfortable.
And then—
You both stopped at the exact same moment.
Because right in front of you was a giant, colorful toy store.
And at the entrance…
A tiny rainbow-colored toy keyboard, half-broken, stickers peeling off, playing a demo tune on loop.
You turned to him.
He turned to you.
"Wanna go in?" you both said, perfectly in sync.
You laughed first.
He smiled after — small, soft, devastatingly gentle.
𖹭
Inside, kids ran everywhere. Plushies towered like mountains. Bubble machines filled the air with floating circles.
But Seungmin?
He walked straight toward the tiny keyboard like it was magnetic.
He crouched in front of it, elbows resting on his knees, eyes warm with nostalgia.
"This is nostalgic," he murmured. "I had one like this when I was a kid."
You laughed.
"You? Playing on a tiny plastic keyboard?"
He pressed a random key
It made the ugliest, crunchiest electronic noise known to mankind.
You burst into laughter.
He pressed another key.
Then another.
Somehow—miraculously—he made the cheap plastic thing sound almost melodic.
A soft pattern. Cute, simple. A little magical even.
You crouched next to him.
"Why does that actually sound good?" you asked.
He shrugged lightly.
"I can play music on anything."
"You're ridiculous," you said, smiling without noticing.
He didn’t look at you.
But he smiled too — small, shy, proud.
Then he turned the keyboard toward you.
"Here," he said. "Try."
"What? Me? I can’t play."
"Just hit something. Make a sound."
You hesitated.
He nudged it closer, eyes encouraging, almost playful.
So you pressed a key.
It squeaked. Horribly.
You froze.
He stared.
Then he started laughing — soft, breathy, sweet.
"You're not very good," he teased.
"Ouch. Rude."
He scooted a little closer — too close — your knees brushing lightly.
He placed his hand gently over yours.
"Try like this," he murmured.
Your breath caught.
He guided your finger to a different key.
Then another.
Your hands nearly overlapping.
The keyboard produced a weird three-note melody.
"See?" he said softly. "You're not hopeless."
You rolled your eyes, trying to hide how flustered you were.
𖹭
While you were focused on the keyboard, a little girl passed behind you with her mom and loudly shouted:
"Mommy, look! They're a pretty couple!"
You and your dearest coworker instantly.
"We’re not—" you both started, but the girl was already gone.
O.de stared down at the keyboard.
"Kids say random things," he mumbled.
"Totally random," you answered too quickly. "Super random."
"Yeah…" he whispered.
His ears were pink.
"Give me your phone," he said suddenly.
You blinked.
"What? Why?"
"Because I want you to remember this."
You handed it over, confused but curious.
O.de pointed the camera at the toy keyboard.
Then at your hands.
Then—very subtly—at you, pretending it was an accident.
Click.
"You took a picture of me?" you asked, cheeks heating.
"Of the moment," he corrected gently.
Then added under his breath, "You’re just… part of it."
Your heartbeat basically died.
He looked away quickly, pretending to examine a giant plush dragon.
But he was smiling.
Way too much for someone who thought you were “just friends.”
He held your bag for you as you walked.
He stayed close.
His hand brushed yours — once, twice — each time making your stomach flip.
When you reached the escalator, he glanced at you quietly.
"Next time," he said, voice soft, "we should check the music store too."
"Next time?"
He nodded, looking away.
"Yeah. I… like spending time with you."
You swallowed hard.
He looked down, cheeks tinting pink.
And you knew —
just knew —
even if he didn’t realize it yet…
He felt something.
𖹭
Back at the dorm later that night, O.de set his phone on the table and went to grab water.
a.note ! my small birthday gift for @xhfics happy birthday bestie! 🫶🏼 hope you enjoy your special day, thank you for being a great friend! 🫂
( masterlist )
“Hold still,” you murmur, concentrated on leaning in slowly as the clippers glide over the side of his head, steady and smooth.
You’ve cut your boyfriend's hair plenty of times before but never like this. A buzzcut is a new territory for both of you - he’s never worn his hair this short in his life.
It all started with your unintentional teasing comments, telling him he’d look ridiculously good with a buzzcut. You didn’t expect him one day to actually agree, though. Until this morning, on your birthday, when he walked into the room with clippers in one hand and a bottle of red dye in the other.
Now, your work is going very nicely, you’re not about to ruin it when you’re this close to completing it.
“Baby, you’re the one moving me around.” A lazy smile tugs at Seungmin’s lips.
You chuckle softly behind him.
“Only when it’s necessary.” You brush away the fine hair that’s dusting his neck, then you finally set the clippers down and go for the small brush that’s been waiting on the near coffee table - next to the bowl of vibrant red.
“Are you sure this is how you want to spend your birthday?” Seungmin tips his head back just enough to briefly catch your eyes.
At the same moment, you dip the brush inside the thick mixture, the sharp scent spreading in the air around you.
“Yeah, I am,” you respond brightly, no hesitation in your voice. For a moment you pause as you lean close again, your tone dipping softer, but sincere when you say: “I cannot think of a better way to spend my birthday.”
The small curl on your lips remains as you trace an outline of a heart, not too big nor too small to stay unnoticed, tilted slightly on the back of his head.
“I’m having fun too,” Seungmin smiles.
His eyes linger on the tv screen in front of you, but he lost the plot of the movie around fifteen minutes ago. Your warm excitement buzzing around him, your quiet laughs and soft touches as you scatter little bursts of color on his fresh buzz… they’re all more vivid and delightful than anything the screen could possibly offer.

a/n: this is the first time i’ve ever tried writing a fic as i have the ideas but not the skill to execute them well. this is proof-read, however, some things may have been missed so i apologise if there’s any repetition, tense changes or warnings that have been missed.
inspo: i had an original idea for this fic but most of it came together as i wrote and ended up with loose connections to the ‘trend’ that can tabs have meanings based on how they break off and can be given to someone in confession. semi-circle = hug. rainbow = hook up. rainbow with a hole beneath = kiss. it’s not directly mentioned but hinted at.
ᝰ read under the cut - enjoy!
The furniture is pressed towards the centre of the living room. A large, deep blue throw drapes over the TV, which sits on the unit. It extends over the sofa opposite, the armchair to the left and the clothes airer to the right, pulled tight to create the base of the fort. A few small blankets are flung over here and there to stop any light from getting in, the fort lit by only the glow of the TV, and the one singular artificial tea light candle Seungmin insisted would be the ‘perfect decoration’.
Inside, Seungmin’s duvet is spread out over the floor, his pillows and a few sofa cushions dotted around. We sit crossed-legged in the centre of it all, Nintendo Switch controllers in our hands, playing our fourth race of Mario Kart in a row. I am also currently winning my fourth race in a row, which has Seungmin throwing a string of laughable insults at me.
Gunil peeks in at the allocated entrance beside the clothes airer sometime during the second race, asking if we want any snacks, and returns with a couple of cans of Dr Pepper, Pepero, and some Pringles. Then, also asking if we want some extra blankets, as ‘it will be cold sleeping out here’, which we accept appreciatively.
The rest of Seungmin’s bandmates have turned in for the evening already, each of them loving their beds and sleep as much as the next. So when Gunil bids us goodnight and heads off to his room, which he shares with Jungsu, it’s just the two of us. Something I’ve come to love more and more as of late.
Even right now, as he screams at me in frustration for sending a Red Shell back at him, I couldn’t be more content.
As the tournament finishes and I inevitably win, we decide to take a quick break. Cracking open our cans and digging into the snacks Gunil generously brought us. Seungmin animatedly tells me a story about his trip out with Hyeongjun this morning, and I really am trying to listen, but my brain won’t allow space as it focuses on soaking in his appearance across from me.
Red and black plaid pyjama pants and a black graphic hoodie, one I recognise as the one he let me borrow when we last hung out alone on a visit to Han River. His face is bare, and his hair, dyed blonde from Xdinary Heroes’ latest comeback, peeks out from underneath his hood. The TV's glow illuminates his face, highlighting his cheekbones whenever his mouth curves into a smile. His dark eyes appear lighter, crinkling in amusement as he lets out a hearty laugh.
God, I love his laugh.
I lift my can to my lips to conceal a smile, taking a long sip.
I’m not entirely sure when I started to see Seungmin this way. We had met through some mutual friends a few years back, and even the very first time in his presence, I knew I wanted him to be a part of my everyday. I was simply fond of him; It was just the way he was able to make an entire room erupt in laughter, and the way he cared for people - like how he instantly jumped up to get me some tissues when I spilt my drink over myself on that very first day, despite having only shared a handful of words beforehand.
Going forward, there had been countless texts, then calls; More group hangouts and eventually ones on our own. And along the way, things must have been gradually building, leading up to just a few weeks ago, when I realised just how much I missed him. With his band having had the final preparations needed for their album, contact was limited. I found myself eagerly checking every notification, hoping it was him. Desperate to hear his voice and to see his face.
And then one night, after a short FaceTime, I laid back in bed, cheeks hurting from smiling. My chest rising and falling heavily due to the rapid pace of my heart, I realised, without an ounce of room for denial;
I really, really like Oh Seungmin.
His story ends with a reminiscing laugh as he pulls his hoodie over his head, leaving his hair slightly dishevelled and revealing a grey tank top underneath, which rises partially in the process.
I avert my eyes quickly, grabbing a Pepero stick, unable to trust myself not to stare.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, he pulls it back down, “But anyway, what were you up to this morning?”
I take a bite of my snack, humming as I try to remember anything past the sight of his toned stomach.
But then a door creaks open and foot steps thud into the living room as though being dragged sleepily. They pause momentarily as the light switch is flicked on, light creeping under the ‘walls’ of the fort. There are a few seconds of silence before they continue towards us. All of a sudden, the blanket at the entrance is being pulled aside, and the light floods in, revealing Jooyeon crouched with tired eyes, yet a playful grin plastered on his face.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” he taunts in usual fashion.
I can already see where this is going to go- the same way it always does. Seungmin clearly does too, as he shoots me a comedic look with an exaggerated sigh as though to say, ‘here we go again.’
“When did you build this?” he continues, not caring for the exchange; in fact, it only spurs him on.
“When you went to bed,” Seungmin replies, before adding teasingly, “so you couldn’t ruin it.”
Jooyeon lets out an elongated, ‘whattt?’ of defence before mumbling a ‘rude’. Then, he invites himself in, clearly being extra careful as though not to prove Seungmin right. He doesn’t get far though, due to the lack of room, settling on his knees just in front of Seungmin, who leans back to rest on his hands, triceps flexing appealingly in the process.
“It’s quite cosy in here, isn’t it?” he looks around, nodding as though assessing the construction work, “Pretty romantic.”
His light teasing usually doesn’t affect me, and I’d normally counter him with a dig of some sort; But now, I find myself too busy holding back a smirk at each comment that classifies me and Seungmin as anything more than friends.
Instead, Seungmin grabs a pillow from somewhere beside him, chucking it straight at Jooyeon. It hits him right in the head before falling to the floor. I laugh at the excessive offence he feigns on his face, and he shoots me an equally excessive glare. He picks up the pillow himself, raising his hand as though to throw it at me, but pauses as he notices what’s in my hand.
“Is that my Pepero?”
I shrug, obviously unaware, yet still pop the last of it in my mouth. Grabbing the packet off the floor, I show it to him.
He takes in a sharp breath, over the top once again, snatching them from my grasp, “That is my Pepero. I literally just came out to get those.”
“Blame Gunil,” Seungmin responds coolly.
Jooyeon says something about having words with him tomorrow, and that he can buy him another pack.
“Right, I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone since you don’t want me here,” he sighs as though feeling sorry for himself, clutching his Pepero sticks to his chest. But he still doesn’t move, instead lowering a hand to his pocket to pull out his phone, “Wait.”
He raises it, and I raise an eyebrow in turn.
“Smile!”
He doesn’t wait for a reaction, snapping a candid photo of the two of us in the fort. I blink a few times, temporarily blinded from the flash. He sighs whimsically as he zooms to observe his photography.
“How cute,” then, excitedly, “Jiseok is going to love this.”
I snort as Seungmin extends a leg to kick Jooyeon with limited pressure, “Get out, you weirdo.”
“Okay. Okay. Okay.”
Jooyeon shoves his phone in his pocket again and backs out of the fort clumsily with the last of his Pepero sticks, knocking over the can of Pringles on the way. I feel a sense of relief momentarily as he stands, the blanket covering the entrance falling back into place. Until I hear his voice call out again from across the room,
“Don’t kiss in there!”
For fuck’s sake.
A sharp exhale shoots from my nose in embarrassed amusement as I let my head fall, trying to hide the pink blush tinting my cheeks as the thought flashes through my mind.
“We’ll try!”
And now it’s not so funny.
Elbows resting on my knees, I raise my hands to my cheeks that I can feel are now burning hotter than before, hoping that Seungmin can’t see how red my face has become.
Did he seriously just say that?
Jooyeon lets out a boisterous laugh followed by an exaggerated gag at his friend’s witty response, before the door clicks shut on his return to his bedroom.
I lift my head, dropping my hands back into my lap, trying to compose myself so that I don’t look as affected as I feel - but I can’t look him in the eye.
“What the fuck is wrong with him?” I mutter to ease the one-sided tension, with a laugh behind it that’s almost painful as I force it out. My hands reach for the controller on the ground in front of me, and I begin to flick through the character selector aimlessly to occupy my hands.
A quiet chuckle comes in response as Seungmin’s own head drops for a moment, before he leans forward to place the Pringles tube back upright. He then shuffles all the way back until he is resting against the sofa and stretches out his legs in front of him, crossing them at the ankles. The rest of him is out of my peripheral vision, and I’m unable to see his face.
“He’s funny,” the boy breathes airily.
I simply hum in response, attempting to keep my demeanour calm, yet my heart feels as though it’s going to burst through my ribcage at any moment.
We start another tournament. I try to concentrate on keeping my streak - but winning doesn’t feel so important right now. Seungmin’s words spin through my head at a dizzying speed.
We’ll try. We’ll try. We’ll try.
And I start to wonder why he said it. What it meant. How he come out with it so quickly. What he’s thinking right now. Part of me is hopeful. Hopeful that he really is trying not to. Saying it so quickly because it’s been on his mind.
But then what if it meant nothing, and it was just to get a reaction out of Jooyeon? A harmless jab.
Still, despite there being no ill intent, I feel myself growing irritated at the thought. Growing infuriated by him out of nowhere for being so careless. For being blissfully unaware of how I feel, and for how a comment he made without a second thought is eating me alive.
“Shit,” I mutter under my breath as my character is hit by a Blue Shell. Seungmin lets out a provoking ‘Ha Ha’ as his own character speeds past mine, which is spinning out. But I don’t really care. And I don’t shoot back at him with a usual competitive remark. Continuing to play subconsciously as I begin to construct a list of excuses to leave once this game is finished. So I can go home and throw myself onto my bed and cry.
Suddenly, there’s a hand waving in front of my face, and I blink rapidly. The screen in front of me is paused, and Seungmin is saying my name. My head snaps towards him. He has scooted back beside me again, controller discarded on the floor somewhere behind him. His eyebrows are furrowed heavily in genuine concern, and the corners of his lips are slightly downturned. But I try not to look at them as he speaks, his presence almost unbearable all of a sudden.
“You’re not even paying attention. You’re in ninth place. Are you okay?”
The question averts my eyes. I shake my head as I reply with a white lie, “I’m just tired.”
“You always say that,” he drags, and he’s probably rolling his eyes at me.
“No, I really am. I’ll probably just head home.”
I scramble to my knees, putting some distance between us in the process, as I scan the fort for any of my belongings that I might have brought in with me.
“But you’re supposed to be staying over…” Seungmin says in a voice quieter than usual, a hint of disappointment underlying it that makes me feel incredibly guilty. A lump forms in my throat, overwhelmed by all the emotions swirling around my chest. Hating myself for having the audacity to be mad at him when he has absolutely no clue what he’s done. I barely mumble a quick apology as I pick up the only things I can find, my phone and my almost empty can of Dr Pepper, and turn ready to awkwardly clamber out of the fort.
But Seungmin shuffles over, blocking my exit, the look of concern still plastered on his face as he turns his whole body to face me, legs still crossed. His eyes skim over my face as I kneel just in front of him, trying to read my expression, which I pray is stoic in my attempts, as I force myself to look him in the eye.
The silence is painful, and it feels like an hour, though probably only a couple of seconds before he speaks.
“Did I do something wrong?”
Great.
That was the last thing I needed.
My ears grow hot as I shake my head. I hate lying to Seungmin. It’s something I hardly ever have to do - but as I try to protect myself, it comes out in an instant.
“No, of course not.”
But that doesn’t mean he has to believe it.
He sighs my name like a disappointed dad, eyes falling shut as he swallows hard. When he opens them again, they narrow slightly, boring into me.
“What?” My voice heightens defensively.
“Just tell me the truth”
“I am telling you the truth”
“Promise me?”
I hesitate, opening my mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. So I shut it again. Panic settles in.
We never, ever break promises. And I can’t force myself to do that even now. I lower my knelt posture to sit back on my feet as my face darkens in shame. My expression falters, and I drop my gaze to my phone and can, noticing how tight my grip has become, the can crushing ever so slightly.
My lack of response tells him enough.
His voice is barely above a whisper, “What did I do?”
I drop my phone into my lap slowly as I attempt to use both hands to pop out the dent, trying to think of how I could possibly answer that question now. At the very top of my sight I can see him wringing his hands in his own lap nervously before he pleads, “Please look at me.”
A small crack in his voice causes me to immediately freeze, and I lift my head slightly to risk a glance, yet instantly regret it as I notice his eyes are vaguely glassed over. Guilt washes over me again as I realise I’ve upset him, something I’ve never done before. And I can’t find it in me to be angry anymore.
I’m a fucking idiot.
I sigh as I clumsily drag my aching legs from under me with only one hand for support, can still clutched in the other, and phone slipping from my lap to the floor. Mimicking the position of the boy across from me, I allow myself to raise my head fully to look at him. My eyes sting at the sight of Seungmin, who’s now also chewing the inside of his cheek anxiously.
Another painful silence. One that I feel like I have to fill myself this time, yet I struggle to find the right words.
“You really didn’t do anything wrong… It’s just that-” I pause, frowning out of frustration, eyes flickering to the blanket wall behind him, “It’s just me overthinking.”
Something he knows I do a lot, and he usually doesn’t pry, but I can’t blame him this time.
“Overthinking what?” he questions, voice still quiet. Hands still fidgeting, eyes still glassy.
As I imagine myself admitting it out loud, I groan out of embarrassment, my free hand rising to my face, thumb and middle finger pressing to the outer corners of my eyes.
“This is so fucking stupid,” I breathe out, a short, awkward laugh following, lowering my head just enough for my elbow to rest on my knee.
I peek up at Seungmin from behind my hand, just in time to see him relax slightly - shoulders dropping their tension and tilting his head to the side to catch my eyes, now more confused than anything else. He blinks a couple of times as his eyes clear, asking hesitantly, “What is it?”
Inhaling deeply, I remove my hand from my face to sit up straight. Then I down the last of my drink to buy myself more time on how to explain myself. I can feel my hands shaking subtly, conscious of how Seungmin watches my every move. Lowering the can, I fiddle with the tab as I begin to speak.
“So basically- wait, can you not look at me, I’m going to laugh,” I interrupt myself as I notice Seungmin staring at me with such a serious expression as he listens attentively - one I’ve never had directed at myself.
Luckily, he snorts at this with a chorus of muffled apologies as he drops his head into his hands.
What an absolute mess.
After another deep breath, I continue, “You know when Jooyeon came in and said… what he said...”
“What part? He said a lot of things,” Seungmin mumbles, poking fun at Jooyeon’s talkative manner, hands still covering his face. I snigger.
Continuing to dance around the subject, I say, “Just when he left.”
Seungmin nods slowly in an exaggerated manner against his hands so that I can catch it. And I can’t tell entirely due to the dim lights, and with his short hair falling over them, but I can almost swear I see the tips of his ears redden.
“About us kissing?”
I wish I could see his face as he says this, yet I am more grateful that he cannot see mine as hearing “us” and “kissing” come out of his mouth in the same sentence, once again, has my cheeks burning.
“Errrr… yeah,” I reply awkwardly, causing me to scrunch up my face, cringing at the sound of my own voice. I look up so the ‘ceiling’ of the fort, mouthing ‘fuck’. Condemning myself.
“What about it?” Seungmin counters after a moment, and my eyes fall back onto him. A speck of agitation creeping back in at the seemingly nonchalant response.
I hadn’t really thought this far ahead and don’t really know what to say next - a moment or two passes and I notice Seungmin raise his head ever so slightly to peek at me through his fingers, as though to check I haven’t disappeared. I frown at him playfully, and he mutters another apology before dipping his head again.
Sighing, I force myself to pursue, but of course, it comes out as more of a ramble.
“He obviously says stuff like that all the time and… it’s funny, obviously, because it’s Jooyeon. And I know he’s just teasing, of course, but-”
This is followed by a long, filler ‘errrr’ of some sort as I have second thoughts about continuing. But I know I’m going to end up having to say it anyway.
It comes out slow, and more like a question, “It’s just. What… you said… after?”
Seungmin doesn’t say anything at first. I’m not sure if he’s trying to recall the moment or what. But then he lifts his head again, hands slowly dragging down his face, fingertips coming to rest against his jaw. No clear expression yet his face is slightly red; I can’t tell if it’s out of embarrassment or simply from the heat of his palms.
My eyes fall back to my hands as I twist the tab of the can forward and backwards again, finally weakened enough for it to snap off. I fiddle with it between my fingers, self-conscious.
“Why are you so bothered?”
I daren’t look at him and am unsure from the tone of his voice whether the question is lighthearted, and to meet him with a teasing ‘shut up’ - or if he’s expecting a straight, honest answer.
But I can’t give him an honest answer, because I’m scared of how he’ll react. So I settle for a half-truth.
“I don’t know. I just didn’t expect it, that’s all,” I excuse myself, “Caught me off guard a bit, I guess.”
“Did I make you uncomfortable?” His voice is soft.
Anything but.
“No, no, no, no, no,” I quickly reassure, shaking my head, but still not looking up “, Not at all.”
“Then what is it?”
I place the empty can down just in front of me, both hands now on the tab, and my voice is unnaturally quiet as I admit, “I just want to know why you said it.”
The tension in the air becomes palpable. And every moment of quiet that follows only causes it to intensify. I’m unsure of how to read it, his lack of words with endless possibilities of cause. But my heart feels as though it’s climbing up my throat nonetheless, to the point where it’s making me feel sick. And I’d just wish he’d speak - say anything at this point - as the feeling slowly becomes unbearable.
“I didn’t say it to be weird or anything,” Seungmin finally starts. Then, “I was just teasing you.”
I feel myself deflate.
‘I was just teasing you.’
“Okay,” I say simply, nodding slowly. I look up at him for a second to give him a tight smile as though to say, ‘That’s it then. It’s fine. Problem solved.’ But I honestly wish the ground would swallow me up, or the blankets from the fort would fall right now and suffocate me - not just even out of embarrassment, but disappointment.
Everything hurts. Because it didn’t mean anything to him. Whilst the stupid, rash comment meant everything to me. It was never just the thought of him wanting to kiss me, but everything else that could have meant. That he could possibly feel even a fraction of what I feel for him.
I need to get out.
I grab my phone, “I’m still going to go, though, because I-”
“I’m not finished.”
Oh.
Phone back on the floor, I catch the way Seungmin rubs his hands together before wiping his palms on his thighs. His head is down, but I can tell his eyebrows are pinched together tightly.
His hands still, but he won’t look at me. He clears his throat.
“I just wanted to see your reaction,” he continues, “but then you wouldn’t even look at me and I couldn’t tell if I made things awkward between us or-”
My nerves spike again, and I flip the tab between my fingers repeatedly.
He swallows hard, “I don’t know.”
I go to question him, but then he begins to ramble, hands clasped together, gesturing with even point he makes, “but then you wouldn’t even talk to me either, and then you wanted to leave, and I thought I definitely fucked up. But you just said it didn’t make you uncomfortable and were just caught off guard and…”
He keeps going, but I’m barely listening, still stuck on the first part.
I shift my focus to the tab in my hand, as my mind attempts to skip over every possible reason why he’d want to see my reaction - not allowing myself to jump to conclusions. Deciding to let him finish to get a definitive answer, I let my thumb graze over the idents at the base of the tab, a rainbow with a small hole beneath it.
“-but yeah,” he concludes, letting out a shaky breath.
Barely a second passes before I ask, tilting my head at him curiously, “Why did you want to see my reaction?” I pause, narrowing my eyes, before pushing further, “How did you want me to react?”
He looks up at me momentarily through his lashes before letting out a low, awkward laugh. “Umm…” he hums, and his hands begin wringing again. I glance down at the tab before extending it out to him with one hand in an attempt to calm him. He blinks at it a couple of times before taking it appreciatively, instinctively grazing his own thumb against it.
“I think,” he starts, a coy smile audible through his voice “, because I wanted to see if you’d get all shy and flustered.”
His words grow quieter towards the end out of embarrassment - the unusual behaviour incredibly endearing. I chew on my bottom lip to suppress a smile as part of me is pleased at the idea he’d want to have that effect on me, but then again, he could want that effect on anyone.
“Why?” I question shortly, needing confirmation before I can allow the exhilaration to overcome me. He raises his head faintly.
The look he gives me is pointed, yet amusingly so. Eyebrows furrowed in mock annoyance, one slightly raised - but his face is beautifully flushed and the corner of his lip twitches slightly as he tries not to smile. It’s a look that says, ‘What do you think, idiot?’
Oh my god.
I laugh genuinely, first at the face; But then, as the silent confession sinks in, I can’t wipe the grin from my face, nor silence the giddy giggles that bubble up from my chest. Seungmin watches me with bright eyes, chuckling softly at the sight as I fall back against the duvet, hands concealing my face bashfully as I try to compose myself.
“Oi, get up,” Seungmin orders me between his own laughs, tapping on my knees with the palm of his hands. I move my hands from my face so I can lean up on my elbows to look at him. He shifts his stare to the floor immediately, ears red as he drags the tab across the duvet with his fingers.
Feeling smug at the sudden shift in power, my grin grows somewhat cocky. I tease, “I want to hear you say it.”
He lets out a pleading groan, lifting his arms to dig the heels of his palms into his eyes, lightly dragging out a ‘Whyyy?’
“Come on,” I drag back, plainly enjoying the head-to-head, “We’re both adults here.”
He promptly removes his hands to give me another pointed look, this time as though to say, ‘you can’t talk.’ There’s a stare-down for a short time.
He then wordlessly extends the tab out to me, scooting himself forward so I can reach, knees against my own. I lean up and retrieve the item between my fingers, but just before I can drop back again, he grabs my wrist and pulls me back up.
The action catches me by surprise, and I yelp. I’m ready to scold him, but my complaints halt as the boy’s hand slips from my wrist to hold my hand. His thumb brushes over my fingers, and I shiver, the sudden shift in dynamic giving me whiplash. Wordlessly, his free hand raises to cup my chin, thumb on one cheek, fingers on the other, squishing them ever so slightly.
“I like you,” a playful tone, yet the genuine smile that follows, paired with the tender look in his eyes, hold so much meaning, “a lot.”
And it’s like the rest of the world disappears.
My eyes dart around his face, wishing to capture every detail of him in this moment so I can remember it this clearly forever. The warmth in his gaze is familiar, as though I’ve witnessed a thousand times before, but now with his confession, everything seems to make sense. My next words come easily, having been sat on the tip of my tongue, begging to spill.
“I like you too, Seungmin,” my voice comes out in a whisper, as my eyes fall to his mouth, “so much.”
He catches this, the corners of his lips twitching as his hand moves to cup my left cheek. The other loosens from my hand gently as brings it up to the right. Holding my face as though it’s the most precious thing in the world. The volume of his voice drops to match my own,
“Can I kiss you?”
Please.
I nod without hesitation, my hands reaching forward to grasp the hem of his tank top instinctively, anticipation engulfing every inch of my being. And he leans in, eyes fluttering closed as he tilts his face to capture my lips in a singular, delicate kiss.
My fingers curl under the fabric, just enough to feel the bare skin of his waist against my fingertips. Just enough to confirm to myself that he’s really there. That I’m kissing Seungmin. That this is real - It only lasts a few seconds, but I swear I experience true euphoria for the first time in my life.
And when he pulls back, his eyes glisten with a youthful excitement; his smile mischievous as though a child doing something in secret that he knows he shouldn’t. The thrill of not getting caught, and with his partner in crime.
author's note. this is for zanzan @slytherinshua actually <3
genre. fluff, lil angst + comfort, might seem suggestive (i am sososo sorry this man just awekens some kind of beast in me); kindergarden teacher!y/n x firefighter!seungmin <3
extra info. mention of fire n burns ! vcha and nmixx cameo teehee
word count. 2828 (so satisfying lmao)
“so, my beloved lilies, today is a career day! i decided to give you a small surprise and asked someone very brave to come here today. any guesses?” you asked cheerfully, clasping your hands.
one of the small hands sprung up and lily shouted before even you told her to.
“a soldier!”
“wo- ah, no” you laughed nervously. bringing a soldier to meet kindergarteners could be quite… traumatic “but that person saves lives…”
“a doctor?” camila asked shyly.
“a close guess! maybe last hint: that person has to do something with…” you stopped to make some suspense, curiosity twinkling in the kids’ eyes “... fire!”
a gasp could be heard in the small crowd.
“firefighter! firefighter! firefighter!” haewon shot to her feet and started jumping excitedly while you clapped.
“bingo!” you hummed “let me go get him. please be nice and remember, what do we say?”
“hello, nice to meet you!” the choir of children's voices answered confidently and you sent them a thumbs up. then you left the room and saw the firefighter looking at the kids’ drawings with a huge smile. you tiptoed and wrapped your hands around his waist. the man didn’t budge and just put his hand over yours.
“they seem very excited to meet you” you mumbled into his back and peeked to look at the drawings “it’s cute, isn’t it? that’s me and bae, she drew it”
your partner huffed.
“the size of your head is about right” he said and turned around.
“shut up. she just has a huge heart and it shows in her gestures” you scoffed, poking his exposed arm.
“‘shut up’? that’s not a nice word” seungmin teased, causing you to roll your eyes.
“just get your ass in there” you pointed at the door with a dangerous glint. seungmin saluted, following your orders.
“yes, ma’am” he said and went to open the door and hold it for you.
well, apparently the stare worked not only on disobedient kids.
he walked in and the girls giggled. you gave them a wink.
“hello, nice to meet you!” they shouted rhythmically, waving at him.
“hi everyone!” you watched his smile grow ten times bigger. he waved back “and hello ms y/n”
he reached his hand. you scoffed and greeted him. right, the kids didn’t know that was your fiancé. his foxy smile only amused you even more.
“hello, mr seungmin. we are very honored that you agreed to meet with us today and tell us a bit about your profession” you grinned and let go of his hand. “for starters, mr firefighter will share something about himself and then you’ll be able to ask questions”
“it’s my pleasure to be here” he smiled and you noticed the tenderness in the way he looked at the cute, intrigued kids. “i’ve been a firefighter for about four years now but before i volunteered at the local station and went through basic training. it is a quite dangerous job and requires a lot of responsibility but i love it”
you scanned the faces of your group. the twelve girls looked very interested, nodding their heads.
“i even brought some equipment to show you!”
they squealed in excitement and you just sent him a huge smile.
another hour went by in a blink of an eye. the girls could try the helmets, gloves and boots - seungmin even brought small coats. he also went through the usage of a fire extinguisher (even though the instructions were very simplified). after taking pictures of the kids in the firefighter attire, he prepared a quick quiz and then they could ask questions.
kaylee, the youngest, rose her hand shyly.
“did you ever save a cat?” she mumbled, almost incoherent. seungmin broke into a huge smile and nodded.
“i did! it ran away and was too scared to come down. it returned safely to its owner” he answered and you held eye contact with him. kaylee wanted to ask something else - you could tell by the way she fiddled with her fingers and her gaze stuck in her little shoes.
then, she walked up to you and whispered her question. you giggled and nodded.
“what was the cat’s name?” you asked, trying to stop your lips from stretching into a huge smile.
“simba”
you huffed. simba was your cat, that’s how you two met. he saved simba and in return you gave him your number. the rest was history.
“do you, like, have a pole to sling down?! like in 'fireman sam'?!” kyujin asked, too excited to even raise her hand. seungmin laughed and you noticed some of the girls whispering.
“we do, yes. we use it in a case of an emergency. maybe one day, if your lovely teacher agrees, you could come visit us. and slide down”
they all gasped and looked at you with sparkles of hope in their eyes.
“we’ll see” you smiled.
keira rose her small hand politely.
“yes?” seungmin nodded.
“did you ever got in a fire so serious that you had to go into a hospital?” she asked calmly.
your fiancé hummed in thought, tapping his chin.
“no, i don’t think so. i did get burned once but it wasn’t serious. it’s thanks to our suits. and hopefully it’ll stay that way” he answered, quite surprised by such a serious question.
jini, jiwoo and savanna kept whispering loudly but you couldn’t decipher the words.
“any more questions?” you cleared your throat. jini nudged kendall, who was listening to them.
“do you have a girlfriend?” she asked and it caused quite a chaos. all the girls started giggling and laughing.
seungmin exchanged looks with you.
then, he rose his hand.
“i regret to inform you but i’m engaged” he laughed and pointed at his ring. they sighed in disapproval. you could see cogs turning in lexi’s head. she scanned his ring and then yours.
“out teacher is engaged too!” lexi grinned.
“well, that’s true but–” you started, trying to think of a possibly logical answer.
“so what? that’s like… she could be engaged to anyone” sullyoon huffed and lexi crossed her arms.
“hey, that’s out of the topic. does anyone want to ask something else?” you cut them off sternly but not raising your voice. they shook their heads.
“can we draw something for mr seungmin?” savanna asked with a pout.
“of course” you nodded and watched them run to the tables, already squealing and giggling.
he walked up to you, arms crossed.
“how do you manage to do that all day…” he sighed and you just nudged his side.
“i could ask you the same thing. they are like fire in a way, huh?” you chuckled and saw lily eyeing you two “they liked you”
“good. i was nervous” seungmin admitted.
you chatted quietly, waiting for the kindergarteners to finish their art pieces. occasionally, your fiancé would subtly brush his fingers against you with a sneaky smile.
three days passed since the career day and seungmin has been acting a little strange. not weird or suspicious but something definitely shifted in him.
it was the way you treated those kids. you were so gentle and caring, love on your eyes – even though they weren’t yours. his mind couldn’t help but wander… how would you act with his children. he found himself imagining a small family, something that you never really discussed. he knew you loved kids, hence your profession of a kindergarten teacher and studies in pedagogy.
you were snoozing on his bare chest, leg thrown over his. it was a lazy sunday, a rare occurrence of you two having a day off. it was past noon, the warm dinner made you sleepy so you decided to take a nap. seungmin too but he woke up and grabbed his phone, not wanting to wake you up.
his left hand was wrapped around your silhouette, drawing small circles on the skin of your hip that got exposed by your shuffling in your slumber. his other hand scrolled on instagram, reading all of the old reels that his friends sent him.
then he started exploring his for you page and clicked on a vid with a baby. dressed in a fox onesie.
a smile formed on his lips, liking the video. he’d definitely dress up his child in a fox onesie.
you tucked your head under his chin and sighed softly in your sleep. he continued to scroll down, the beyond cute videos of kids taking over his feed.
it clicked suddenly - he was having a baby fever. with a grunt he shook his head. he has to keep his cold and mysterious facade–
“you’re watching baby videos?”
shit.
he sighed and moved his free hand to rest it atop your head, ruffling your hair.
“yes” he answered shortly, swiping down. a reel of a baby trying to say their first words.
he turned off his phone and sighed. you decided to climb on top of him and he saw your grin. even though your features were still sleepy and hair messy, you looked energetic.
“i don’t know, i just… when i saw you with the girls… they were so cute and you treated them so gently” he mumbled shyly. you leaned down and grabbed his chin gently, locking eyes with him. “and i have a baby fever, okay? i just… we’re getting married next year and i know we’re still young but i want to have a baby with you. one day… if you want to, too”
seungmin could swear that the smile that broke on your face was the largest he had ever seen. you nodded and your answer was quite simple: your soft lips landed on his. sweet taste lingered on his tongue as he kissed you back, heart growing in his chest.
soon enough your hands started roaming on his bare chest, toned body warm underneath your fingertips. once out of breath, you pulled away. with blushed cheeks you traced the ink tattooed a little below his ribs, feeling the slow rise and fall of his ribcage.
“maybe i’ll add two dates here in the future” your fiancé reached for your hand and placed a gentle kiss on each of your fingers, not breaking eye contact.
then, out of the blue, he flipped you and had you pinned to the mattress. his necklace was dangling in your face. seungmin leaned in and softly kissed his way down from your nose to your neck.
the chilly breeze in the room could be the reason for the hair standing on his neck but it was probably the way you played with his hair.
“if it’s a boy… hyungjun…” he murmured, pillowy lips tickling your skin. your body shook with laughter, the sound like music for his ears.
“we are not naming our child after your best friend” you kept on giggling, the idea cracking you up “what, so if it’s a girl it’s gonna be jiseokette? jooyeonlia?”
he snorted and looked at your face, a lopsided smile adorning his features.
“you have a point” seungmin smiled and just when he was about to kiss you again, lips quite literally against yours, a ring phone echoed through the room. you knew it was his due to the fact that he had his favorite song set up as the tone.
with a dramatic, guttural groan and a roll of his eyes, he rolled to the side and reached his cellphone.
as he talked, you went to trace his tattoo yet again. your mind kept wandering to the image of your own small family. fingers brushing against the ink and then moving to trace the moles and beauty marks scattered on his honey-colored skin.
suddenly, your fiancé sprung to his feet and ended the call. throwing hurriedly one of his tank tops, he started looking for something.
“what is it?” you asked, concern ringing in your voice.
“a really massive fire in a block of flats. they still haven’t located the source and the cause but apparently it’s a quite old building and there’s a risk of collapse. they haven’t rescued everyone yet. i need to go” he spat out words like a machine gun, collecting his necessary items. then, he walked up to you and placed a quick kiss on your lips “i will be back, love you”
and with that, he hurried out.
you were always nervous when seungmin got calls like that. it is a part of his job but you can't stop the panic from overtaking your thoughts little by little. with a racing heart you made the bed and decided to distract yourself with grading a file full of drawings. you had to do it anyway.
the door opened with a quiet creak, the heavy footsteps waking you up. glancing at the clock you realized its past three am.
“seungmin?” you called, voice sleepy. your arms stretched involuntarily, due to the cramped position you fell asleep in.
“it’s me, baby” he answered and went into the room. the light that you forgot to turn off casting illumination on his face. face full of scratches.
“oh my goodness, what happened?” you asked in a panicked voice, standing up to rush to him.
he shook his head, and then pointed at his bandaged arm.
“got burned. do we have a first aid kit? i rushed out of the hospital before they took care of my handsome face” seungmin asked, voice soft.
“of course we do. wait, the hospital?” you repeated and stood in place, frozen “are you even okay? you should go back!”
“i’m fine, they said. it’s just the burn that needed urgent care. besides, others got more burns” seungmin sighed and sat down at the dinner table, closing his eyes. you gulped, heart racing. he heard you pace around and soon enough you were standing between his legs. he hissed quietly when you did so, your eyes shooting wide.
“i might… have smaller burns. but i’m okay, i promise” your fiancé opened his eyes and sent you a reassuring smile “everyone is alive and that’s what matters, okay?”
“but… the burn…” you bit your lip, concerned. you just took a deep breath and started cleaning the scratch looking wounds on his face.
“i’ll be fine. who’s a firefighter without a burn scar, hm?” he hummed “and those… you won’t believe it”
you just frowned. a groan left his lips when he felt the stinging feeling above his right brow.
“one of your girls lived in that building. lily.” he said quietly and you blinked, halting your movements. tears gathered in your eyes, thinking of all the–
“she’s fine, she’s alive! i should’ve specified that. sorry, darling. she’s okay” seungmin panicked and pulled you onto his lap, clenching his jaw at the faint pain. but he had to comfort you.
“how… how did you know?” you asked, trying to calm down. he needed your help, not tears. but the sole thought of seungmin or lily getting trapped in the dangerous grips of fire…
“someone told me there’s a girl in the apartament. i went it to save her and i recognized lily. she must’ve been listening well to me when i visited your kindergarten, you know? she was doing everything i told the girls in case of a fire emergency. i grabbed her and left but she suddenly started panicking. only when i left and took off my helmet she calmed down… for a moment, at least”
your heart swelled. lily was a bit chaotic at times but also mature for her age.
“i think it was the anxiety. she accidentally scratched me because she started panicking where her parents were. i helped her look for them” he explained and rubbed your arm “they were fine. no one got hurt.”
“except you” you sniffed and pulled away, returning to patch his small wounds.
“it’s a risk i’m ready for” he hummed and watched you. “i’m sorry i scared you like that”
you just shook your head and once the scratch was cleaned, you put the only bandaid you had. one with my little pony characters on it.
“are you sure your burn wound doesn't need any more help? i can drive you to the hospital” you asked, worry pooling in your eyes. seungmin just cupped your cheek, his hand warm and calloused against yours.
“no. although i know what would make me feel better” he smiled softly.
“meds? tea? anything you need, just tell me” you asked but he just pulled you closer and sealed your lips with a passionate kiss. it was a bit rough, in a way that you could feel his plump lips imprinting on yours. but you knew why; he just wanted to make sure you’re here, and he’s here, and you will be together. no fire will be able to burn your intertwined souls.
“i need you, nothing else” he said when he leaned away, wiping a tear that escaped your eye “don’t worry about me”
synopsis: Seungmin takes you out for your first time on the ice.
word count: 239 | pronouns used: none | genre: fluff, established relationship | cws: not proofread, VERY rusty writing!!
Lacing up your skates, you couldn’t ignore how the cold of the ice rink bit at your cheeks.
“Minnie,” you spoke, looking at him as he tied his skates, “I’ve never been ice skating before.”
Seungmin pulled his laces tight and stood up, wobbling a bit as he rose. “That’s okay,” he smiled down at you. “”I’ll be right by your side.”
Nodding, you stand up after him, clutching onto his shoulders to keep you upright. You both share a laugh before Seungmin offers you his hand. “Come on. We can start slow so you don’t fall.”
Seungmin slowly leads you onto the ice, avoiding any other skaters whose skills are far better than yours. As you take your first few steps on the ice, you hold tightly onto Seungmin, trying your hardest not to fall.
“See?” He smiled at you, “You’ve got it.”
Right as the words leave his mouth, you lose your footing, grabbing onto him.
“Min!” You shout as you fumble on the ice. Laughing, he grabs onto your waist, holding you up.
“Okay,” he chuckles. “Maybe you still need some practice.” As he steadies you, he grabs ahold of your hand again. “Just, make sure to hold on to me, okay? Then if you fall, at least I’ll fall with you.”
You laugh now, taking a few more steps further into the rink. “Wow, how kind,” you muse sarcastically.
“Anything for you,” he smiles back.

I need xdh as boyfriends/how they are like as boyfriends!😭🙏🙏
You hit my weak spot with that idea 😭😭😭 spoiler: I wanted them as my boyfriends
Let's go then, I hope you like it!!
➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶
JUNGSU: the type of boyfriend who is clingy and romantic without a doubt, Jungsu would love to bring flowers to his beloved simply because he felt like it, would love to go on walks on free days and take pictures of her to keep in his private album. Jungsu would help with household chores, try to teach some choreographies, and would love cuddling movie sessions 😭😭
GAON: he would be the funny and smart boyfriend, they wouldn't have boring or sad days with him!!! Gaon would definitely do everything to make his partner smile and laugh every day, PC or video game sessions would happen frequently!! And he would be very helpful in helping with university lessons, or fixing things that break in the house
JOOYEON: he would be the kind of childish and whiny boyfriend, he would want to play around and keep asking for affection in the most whiny and cute way, pouting and puppy eyes. But Jooyeon would be a great boyfriend, helpful and fun, he would be there all the time!!
JUNHAN: shy and cute boyfriend!!!!! I can only imagine him being the most adorable boyfriend in the world, the type that turns red with compliments and stolen kisses (but deep down he would love all of this), he would also be very helpful and would help his beloved to cook and clean the house. Junhan would offer to teach her to play the guitar with all care and affection... Definitely the relationship would be true and lasting
O.DE: fitness athlete and very affectionate!!!! In fact, I think he would be quite responsible and a little jealous, Seungmin would be there to do the heavy lifting and take care of his partner. He would help her to exercise and take care of her health, taking her with him to the gym. But he would also be fun and funny, making the person laugh many times a day.
GUNIL: ok, we reached my weak point... In my view he would be the perfect boyfriend!!!! He would be extremely affectionate and loving, asking for and giving kisses, hugs, caresses and everything good!! He would also take his partner to the gym and help her with every exercise. He would love to go on walks, watch romance movies and play board games... In short, he would be the most sincere and passionate person 🤧

𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝐀𝐘𝐒 .ᐟ this is quite literally inspired by my xdh lingerie reaction post if you want to check it out here! you don’t have to read it but i mentioned that the wardrobe is full of shades of purple, so this was a random thought turned into a fic lol. hope you enjoy!
seungmin’s clammy hands gather his belongings from the table as soon as the clock hits three pm. he didn’t want to endure another second of hearing his professor’s painfully bothersome voice piercing his ears, he could literally do anything better for an hour and a half rather than hearing them whine and moan about every single thing. besides, he was looking forward to going to his shared apartment and maybe cuddling up next to his girlfriend who’s most likely out of her classes and watching some television. he’s definitely prepared for what ever story she has bubbling in her throat for him as her fingers run through his hair, his head laying on her chest and his arms around her torso wrapped in a warm embrace.
he’s definitely prepared for what ever story she has bubbling in her throat for him as her fingers run through his hair, his head laying on her chest and his arms around her torso wrapped in a warm embrace. it became a routine at this point, so he wouldn’t be surprised if she was on their couch laying on her back waiting for him. the thought of it etches a smile onto his lips.
“hey seungmin,” seungmins head turns towards the voice next to him, his actions of putting his notebook in his bag halting. the voice belongs to jiseok who’s already all packed up and ready to go, his hand in his pocket and a grin taking over his features. seungmin raises an eyebrow. “wanna get some drinks with me and the guys tonight? it’s been a while since all six of us hung out.”
seungmin rolls his eyes, knowing that jiseok loves to exaggerate. it’s only been four days since he last saw all of his friends.
“i have homework to do,” seungmin glances down at his watch to make his case more believable. “like right now.”
“bullshit.” he snorts. jiseok knew he was going to lie, since that was his excuse almost every single time he just wanted to go home in a rush. jiseok audibly sighs, his fingers pinching his nose bridge and his head shaking from side to side. “your only “homework” is that girlfriend of yours huh?” he makes sure to emphasize the word to at least fill seungmin’s gut with guilt. he’s proven wrong again though, since seungmin stands proud with no shame at all, the sheepish smile on his face full of pride.
“you sound jealous as if you wanna be my girlfriend.” seungmin coos as he finishes placing his things in his bag, slinging it over his shoulder and making his way towards the exit door of the lecture hall. jiseok scoffs and ignores his comment, trailing next to him.
“cmon man. ever since you two got together, it’s been like a rarity to actually see you out.”
“that’s because i have priorities. and my main priority right now is doing my homework.” seungmin emphasizes just like jiseok did earlier, smirking at a disgusted jiseok who jokingly gags.
“ugh enough with the homework thing!” jiseok raises his voice in slight irritation and it only makes seungmin laugh. “you’re so gross dude.”
“i didn’t say which kind of homework i was doing.” seungmin’s purposefully obnoxious laughter dies down, his eyes not missing the scowl sewn onto jiseoks face. “hey, maybe next time dude. pretty sure she misses me more than you guys.” seungmin’s palm lightly pats at jiseoks shoulder, the supposedly reassuring gesture only making jiseok roll his eyes.
“yeah okay. that next time better be a promise.” jiseok finally goes his own way. seungmin shakes his head playfully as he watches the boy walk away, walking to his own car once he’s out of sight.
“it’s not even what he said it’s just the way he said it!” your voice rings through seungmin’s ears like a bell, the pent up frustration that you’ve been holding in all day slowly leaving as you rant to seungmin. he doesn’t mind at all, nodding his head after every sentence you finish.
he sets the blank canvas on his easel, sitting upright in his stool and turning towards you. he can’t even feel bad since you’re sporting an adorable pout on your face. “you weren’t even listening were you?”
he chuckles and shrugs. “i listened enough to know this happened before.”
“and what is that supposed to mean?” you scoff and raise an eyebrow.
“it means that i know you so well. you know like a good boyfriend.”
“yeah yeah whatever..”
seungmin stands up from his seat. “c’mon babe i was just joking.” he wraps his arms around you, kissing your cheek. “you know i’m always on you’re side even if you’re in the wrong.”
you laugh. he was definitely being ridiculous, but it made you feel even more better.
“i guess boyfriend who just knows me so well.”
you hear him quietly snicker through his nose, the air hitting you’re ear.
“how about you go ahead get ready for me, yeah? the sooner we start the sooner we could lie down.”
he lets go of you, nudging his head towards the bathroom down the hall. he watches you prance down the hallway and into your shared bedroom. seungmin follows a few seconds after once you’ve retrieved the bag from your bedroom, getting ready to step into the bathroom to watch you change. he’s seen your body countless times before, yet he always gets giddy just thinking about it as if he’ll see if for the first time again.
but what he doesn’t expect is the wooden door of the bathroom to slam right in front of his face. he stands still, not believing what just happened until he tries again, attempting too turn the knob only for it to not budge.
seungmin leans against the frame of the bathroom door from the outside, his arms crossed.
“and why am i not allowed to see my girlfriend of nearly a thousand years change again?”
“i want it to be a surprise,” seungmin hears from the other side of the door. “if you see me change into it now, it’d ruin the shock factor.”
“i was standing right next to you when i bought it-“
“yeah but you haven’t seen it on me yet, so get lost!”
seungmin rolls his eyes. he obliges your orders, quietly stepping away and returning to his stool. he preps his tools, squeezing paint onto the wooden palette and tying a smock around himself. he hears you open the door not too long after, turning his head to get a glimpse.
he’s once again met with nothing, only being met with your loud voice booming through the hallways.
“close your eyes and i’ll tell you when i’m in there!”
he sighs with the slightest tinge of irritancy, closing his eyes anyways. he hears a little bit of shuffling until he doesn’t, but feeling the presence of something in front of him, his eyes fluttering open once he hears your command.
seungmin feels as if his air is stolen straight from his lungs. the first thing he sees is the lace corset that hugs your torso just right, the decorated lace in the shape of hearts and in his favorite color—purple, the shade of lilac to be exact. his eyes follow the pattern down to the stockings clipped to the lacy stocking clipped to the corset along with some panties, all sharing the same shade of color.
he knows he’s gawking, his jaw growing sore but he can’t even notice as he debates whether or not he should follow up with the activity, instead trying to savor as much of the image in front of him as he can.
his hand unashamedly reaches out to touch, a light slap swatting his hand away.
“maybe afterwards babe.” you giggle, turning around to walk to the middle of the room. seungmin gets a full glimpse of the thin piece of fabric that sits in the slit between your ass. you weren’t wearing panties, you were wearing a full on thong. and it sends seungmin into overdrive.
he nearly chokes on his spit, clearing his throat and pushing up the glasses on the bridge of his nose. he peeks from behind the canvas.
“pose for me, love.”
seungmin watches you hesitate for a moment. it takes you awkwardly shifting–which is nothing but adorable to seungmin–until you’re satisfied enough with your pose. he waits until you’re fully ready, bringing his focus back to the canvas.
he takes his time, setting aside the thoughts of what he’ll repay you with later. for now he’ll just settle for mixing in the paint, not even needing to directly look at you to know, already having studied every single detail you possess. you watch seungmin’s focused face, him flashing a wink everytime you two lock eyes, causing you to smile at his antics.
as more time passes by, paint stains his fingers and smock. as more time passes by, your body starts to grow tired from standing in one position. as more time passes by, the sun starts to set, the rays seeping into opened blinds and hitting your skin just right.
“can you turn around for me? i wanna see more.”
you do an experimental turn, your backside facing seungmin and returning to your original pose, looking over your shoulder. he smiles and claps his hands together. the sunlight hits right at the curve of your shoulder and runs down your arm. you catch him as he’s staring dead on again, before shaking his head and going back to painting.
“are you almost done?” you ask, growing slightly impatient.
you could tell by the way he was looking at you every time he peeked from behind the easel something would follow up after your little session, his eyes wandering either way too low or too high. either way, it didn't bother you at all. your boyfriend’s attention was all you wanted.
he only nods his head silently at the fear of suddenly blurting his thoughts out too loud. seungmin strokes his paintbrush a few more times, setting it down along with his palette.
“i’m finished. c’mere and take a look.” you scurry your way over to him, taking a look at your boyfriends work. he watches your jaw drop, crossing his arms.
“you like it?”
“i love it. it’s stunning.”
he smiles, “you’re stunning.”
“i swear i knew you were going to say that.”
he laughs, pulling you onto his lap and wrapping his arms around your torso, his fingers tracing over the outlines of the decorated corset. you take the time to observe his work closely, noticing how he captured every part that you had considered a flaw, but perfect to him regardless. seungmin pulls you closer, lightly kissing down your neck.
“you smell good y’know.” he breaks the silence, nuzzling his nose into your skin.
you turn your head, giving him an eye roll before placing your lips onto his, his colored fingers cups your cheek. you let him pull you closer to deepen the kiss, your own hand coming up to grip the back of his head and delicately pulling at his hair. it quickly grows heated, seungmin’s tongue welcoming itself into your mouth to which you happily allow him in.
it’s messy and it grows hot. it makes your grip in seungmin’s head tighten, the noise traveling from his mouth to yours.
“wait,” he pulls away, the bottom half of his face already flushed and his lips swollen. “let’s take this to the bedroom.” his lips curl into the smirk that you know all too well. to your surprise, seungmin hooks his arm under your legs and lifts you up, carrying you down the hall and into the bedroom, kicking the door closed.
the abandoned artwork sits at the easel in the middle of your shared living room, just a few inches away from where you were previously standing just a few seconds ago. maybe once you two finish with whatever you’re doing, you’ll retrieve it and add it to your personal collection for only you and seungmin to see and forbidden to anybody else. at the moment though, you two could care less if somebody could walk in and see it.

Gunil:
he’s been rambling about god knows what for at least half an hour
and as much as you enjoy listening to his endless supply of stories, you’re a bit tired today and it’s starting to get too much
not wanting to disappoint him, you wonder if you could come up with an excuse to ask him to stop talking
when no words come to mind, you get a different idea
mid sentence you lean in and place a kiss on his lips
he’s stunned for several moments, not having expected a kiss at all
and while he does seem happy about it, there’s no way he’d let anything keep him from finishing his story cjbxnxnx
“Uhm, babe… I was about to make a point here, so…”
simply keeps talking????
so you do the same again and this time he continues his story as soon as your lips leave his kasjlöfksa
you’re gonna have to give him more than a couple of pecks to shut him up for good
Jungsu:
he’s scolding you for something minor like you forgetting to put your dishes away
and you get that he’d be mad about it if it was something that happened frequently, but this is the first time you forgot about something like that since you have started dating
so you get a feeling he’s not actually as mad at you as he seems, and instead he must be overall stressed
you do try to apologize but he just keeps complaining, his frustration only growing
and so you decide to kiss him in order to make him stop
he’s surprised when you briefly press your lips against his, and when you can see that he’s still upset, you give him another kiss
kissing him properly this time, you can finally feel him relax against you
you can immediately see regret in his eyes as he opens them to look at you
“I’m better now… sorry for taking it out on you. I shouldn’t have done that.”
he apologizes with his head hanging low, unable to even look at you now
however, you simply offer him a hug, telling him that you understand
Gaon:
you’re having kind of a play fight that’s getting way too competitive
at this point you’re not even sure what you’re arguing about anymore, you just know it was something utterly insignificant
getting kind of tired of it now while Jiseok just gets more and more into it, you decide to put an end to it at once
so you lean in and before he can realize what’s happening, your lips are already pressed against his
blinks a few times and looks at you with raised eyebrows after you pull back, trying to understand what just happened
is definitely blushing and stutters on for a while, before he pulls himself together
then you just see him smiling mischievously as he continues talking, and you just know he’s up to something
just when you sigh and want to walk away, he grabs your hand, suddenly seeming sulky
“I thought you’d keep kissing me if I continued rambling!”
you let out a huge sigh at his logic, but can’t help the smile creeping onto your lips because of his innocence
you attempt to argue back, but now it’s you who doesn’t know what to say
so you simply give in and fulfill his wish, because who are you to say no to an invitation for more kisses from your boyfriend?
O.de:
you can see that your boyfriend is bothered about something
you figure it would help him if he talked about it to get it all out, so you keep nagging him about it until finally he sits down with you and explains his problem to you
however, once he starts talking he can’t stop, and you can see the exact moment the conversation isn’t helpful to him anymore
instead, he starts agonizing about it instead
though you try to make him see things from a different perspective, it doesn’t help him much
so you realize you have to do something else if you want to help him
you simply lean in and kiss him softly, trying to convey to him how much you care
he immediately kisses you back, as if he was thankful that you shut him up
after kissing him for a while, he seems to have calmed down a bit and his frown disappears as you pull back
you suggest doing something fun instead, but he’s quick to snake his arms around you, pulling you close
“I think I prefer some more kisses, actually…”
and so you simply smile at him, cupping his face in your hands
and then you kiss him again
Junhan:
is giving you a detailed explanation about something guitar related
you have been curious so you thought you could simply ask your boyfriend about it!
you think the way he’s really getting into it is super adorable, and the happy smile on his face as he talks makes you happy as well
that’s until suddenly, you get an idea
without thinking about the consequences, you lean in, pressing a lingering kiss to his lips mid-sentence
he’s completely stunned when you pull back, taking some time to recollect himself before complaining
“I was talking!! You didn’t have to-” - his voice goes higher and higher until eventually words fail him and his ears are beet red
whines at you now as he can’t handle the embarrassment - and he’s also a tiny bit frustrated that you interrupted him
so you take his silence as an opportunity to simply kiss him again
and he does kiss you back, but once you give him an opening he will just whine again
in the end he makes you assure him that you were just messing with him and didn’t get bored of his explanations
you give him a few more kisses as an apology
Jooyeon:
it started as a normal conversation that somehow took a detour in his head
and now you have no idea what he’s talking about anymore
you just know he’s excited and trying his best to get his point across
and somehow that’s just very endearing to you
not to say you’re getting a little carried away by his smile and childlike excitement reflecting in his eyes
but you are getting carried away by exactly that jdhdndn
and before you know it, you find yourself leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips, shutting him up in the process
he blinks at you once, and then twice, gaping because he did not see that coming and you have successfully interrupted his train of thought
has no idea what he was talking about anymore and then suddenly gets very quiet
“Sorry, I got a little too carried away there…”
awkwardly scratches the back of his head as you assure him that you don’t mind, he was just too cute and you couldn’t help yourself
he absolutely lights up at you calling him cute and then demands more kisses while pouting
