i want a bi or omni (preferably omni) pride flag for my room SO BAD but my parents are already biphobic and "don't believe" in nonbinary people and "new genders/sexualities" (the ones they don't know about) so it would NOT land well with them

(i'm omni but i came out to them as bi and they accept me and will let me date any gender but they're always saying the most biphobic shit to my face)

In honour of pride month I am going over all of my flags!

Omniromantic

- Meaning: One’s romantic attraction is to all genders, but with varying degrees of severity and preference, finally something about me that isn’t fluid

Flag colours: Light pink, pink, black/indigo, dark blue, blue, with lighter versions of each colour outside the central heart shape

- Light pink for gender spectrum

- Pink for femininity/finspec

- Black/indigo for genders outside the male-female spectrum

- Blue for masculinity/minspec

- Light blue for gender spectrum

- Heart for romantic attraction specifically

Again, this ^^ is what Google says, I disagree. And we all know I am the all powerful decider of everything (/j).

So personally I again see pink as similar gender attraction, blue as different gender attraction, black/indigo as multiple genders/lack of gender/non binary genders (it’s doing a lot of heavy lifting), and the lighter shades as the varying degrees of attraction.

Aa commonly used phrase on le internet a few years ago to define omni was “pan with a preference” which, while being useful as a simple way to explain to newcomers, this falls into holes when explaining the difference between it and bisexuality.

Some see omnisexuality as like bisexuality, however my view of the two is that bisexuality has a distinction between similar gender attraction and different gender attraction, whilst omnisexuality has a distinction between all genders.

The best way that I can explain pansexuality vs omnisexuality is that pan people’s checklist of attraction doesn’t even have gender as a category whilst omni people’s does, but all genders are accepted

Romantic attraction differs from sexual attraction in a way you can probably figure out, and whilst I am abrosexual, I am also omniromantic
