Please, why are children a sensitive topic for Moran Lavellan?

Okay, are you prepared to have your heart hurt??

When Moran was in her mid-20s, she fell in love with a hunter in her clan. They were crazy about eachother, got married.

They tried for a baby for a long time, and just as they were about to give up Moran realized she was super late for her period.

Husband got excited, went off in the woods in a hurry (alone) to find a special ~*~rare~*~ herb that's good for babies.

I haven't thought about this part too hard because ouch, but he runs into a bear or some darkspawn and is sadly killed (but kudos to me for killing of a dude to further lady character development yeah)

She finds out (or someone finds his corpse in the woods) and is very sad "but at least I have the baby"

Moran can't have children, she's sterile

But she still wears her promise ring, to remember him.

this is my favorite line in draft 1 which probably means it's going to have to die:
