In some other universe, we’ve escaped all this noise and ended up with a tiny café tucked somewhere in the hills of Himachal. Nothing fancy, just wooden tables, the smell of fresh chai, and time moving slower than it should.

There’s a sleepy dog curled up near our feet like he belongs to us more than we belong to him. And outside, the sky is wide and careless.

We’re sitting there, doing nothing important, arguing over a drifting cloud, you insisting it’s a map to somewhere we haven’t been yet, me saying it’s just a cloud with no intention at all.

And somehow, in that pointless argument, in that quiet, unremarkable moment, life finally feels like it’s exactly where it should be.

The whole crew, Shoko, Utahime, Suguru, Satoru, Nanami, and you were sitting in Shoko and Utahime's dorm, planning your summer holiday trip

"Maybe beach?" Said Suguru scrolling through a blog about 10 best places to visit during summer.

"Nahh, we already went there last year. Maybe.. Maybe something like.. Mountains, hill stations?" Suggested Shoko, taking a puff of her cig.

"Shookoo! Stop smoking for God's sake!" Utahime took the cig, and smashed the burning end on the ash tray. "Anyways, sounds good but where? "

"Somewhere quiet and peaceful but lively.. " Nanami said, who was lounging on the lower bunk bed.

"What about you Satoru, and you YN? y'all agree? " Geto asked, keeping his phone away, looking expectantly at you two.

"Yeah man, I agree.. As long as she does.. " Satoru looked at you when you said that, smirking as he saw you blush

"Oh um- yeah! Totally!" You changed the topic quickly " I was thinking if we could go to Manali. It's near my hometown, maybe we can even meet my family! It's quiet, beautiful and perfect!"

"Girl- we totally should! Yeah utahime? " Shoko was suddenly excited, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she nudged Utahime. She was definitely planning something.

"Totally.. " Utahime smirked. And the other men (except toru) understood..

.

"Here we areeee!!! " Shoko and Utahime were bouncing with excitement as they stepped out of the airport. The crisp mountain air refreshing everyone from the weariness of travel.

"Damn girl, it's beautiful!" Shoko said to you, while the others were busy admiring the beautiful landscape of Manali with awe.

"So who is going to drive to that cabin?" "Nanami should.. " Geto and utahime looked at nanami, who had already facepalmed himself and let out a long sigh.

As you all sat in the car, they made sure to put you and Satoru side by side.

"So, um, tell me more about your hometown" Satoru asked you to break the silence

"Oh I'd be glad~!" The whole ride, he listened, actually listened to you explain the pahadi culture, foods, languages, your childhood in the mountains, and him doing that gave you butterflies. Because he listened like he wanted to know and learn genuinely, not just to pass the time.

At last you reached your cabin, which was in a beautiful setting amidts the mountains, which even gave a beautiful glimpse of the Bhrigu lake.

Shoko and Utahime shared a room, Nanami and Geto the other. And you and Satoru were supposed to share one room, and one bed.

After dinner, you both were awkwardly standing in the room, debating over who will take the bed and who will sleep on the floor.

"Hey, look, I respect women a lot and there's no way I'm letting you sleep on the floor." Satoru crossed his arms standing in that sassy posture (like the bbgurl he is)

"Toru, I really appreciate that but I don't want you to sleep down there. Hilly areas are already cold and your back will hurt. Maybe we should share the bed. You on that edge and I'll be on this edge. We can even put pillows in between" You suggested, hoping he doesn't take the meaning weirdly

"U-uh.. O-okay.. Sounds good.. " He was blushing furiously, and slipped under covers, backfacing you. You both slept on the edges, pillows stacked between you. But the night was cold and blankets weren't enough, so, you both, half asleep kicked the pillows, he pulled you closer, you buried your face in his chest, arms wrapped around each other and he tucked your face under his chin. That was finally warm and cozy. So much that you both fell asleep in a deep slumber and the next morning, Shoko and Geto even took your cute pics before you woke up

"Oh it's gonna be fun when we show it to them! " Shoko and Geto had that evil smirk while showing it to nanami and utahime.

Meanwhile, you woke up and found yourself unable to move. And suddenly you became acutely aware of two strong arms wrapped protectively around you, and that sweet scent only one person had, because he ate too many sweets. And oh boy, you were so flustered that you accidentally pushed Satoru away but he fell down.

"*groan* what's going on?" He sat up on the floor, looked up at you, who was nervously picking at a loose thread of her hoodie, and immediately realized what you both did that night. His nervously looked away, mentally scolding himself. "G-good morning.. "

"Y-yeah m-morning. I-i- I'll go take a bath.. " You bolted towards the washroom while he sat on the floor

"Goddamn Y/N, what are you doing to me..? "

That day, the plan was city exploration on bikes. So y'all rented bikes for that. Again, your matchmaker friends made you and Satoru share a bike.

"Ready? " He looked at you with that boyish smile that gave you butterflies

"Mhm, ready~" You smiled and wrapped your arms around him from behind, pressing yourself intimately against him.

The air whipped past you two as he revved the bike and was fast with driving. Hearing your melodic carefree laughter did things to him. You all went to visit lakes, temples, shops, eating traditional food, and so much. All the while, he could only look at how beautiful you looked. Yeah, the nature was breathtaking, but his eyes only focus on you as you were plucking wildflowers in front of a tea shop.

"These are so beautiful! I'd choose wildflowers always over rose bouquets" You were so carefree and excited.. It just slipped naturally from his mouth

"My wildflower"

"Huh? You said something? " You looked up at him, giving him a flower

"O-oh nope nothing! " He nervously changed the topic, handing you your tea cup

"My wildflower huh?" Geto teased him while the others were smirking, and you were oblivious, asking shoko and utahime about what happened and they kept giggling.

"Shut up Suguru"

"Aww someone's shyy~" Shoko joined in

"Satoru, just admit it, you're head over heels for her" Nanami took a sip of his tea

"Yeah c'mon we both know you two are in love" Utahime said throwing shoko's cig packet.

"Ugh, fine. I am. But I'll confess to her before the trip ends, just.. Not today."

"Fine, but you better do it before the trip ends" Nanami said before starting his bike, signaling it was time to call it a day.

After dinner, you and satoru were laying on the bed talking, when he suddenly said

"You looked like a lion who just woke up because the wind messed up your hair. "

"What!? You jerk! " You threw a pillow at him and he dodged it, standing up, he threw another pillow at you. And you tried to tackle him down, but you both were giggling so much that instead of you doing that, he fell on top of you on the bed, and your lips almost brushed against each other's.

That was so awkward that without saying a single word, he quietly got up and went to his side of the bed and you went to yours. Both pretending to sleep, but in reality, your hearts were beating wildly against your chest.

The next and 3rd day of your trip, you all decided to dedicate the entire day for shopping.

Currently you all are in a bangle shop, you were admiring a set of red bangles with intricate design in white

"They're sooo pretty~" You said, you really wanted to buy them, but others were leaving the shop, so you left too.

After that, you shoko and utahime went to a cozy shop selling traditional clothes. They were planning to just try them because they weren't used to wearing desi clothes. Meanwhile you were going to buy a dress for yourself.

Ultimately you ended up choosing a skirt, a kurti and a pattu shawl similar to the bangles. A yellow kurti, white skirt, and a white shawl with red design. You admired yourself for a good 5 minutes in the changing room because the outfit matched perfectly with your single braid hairstyle and oxidized jewelry.

As you stepped out, everyone was complimenting you. But Satoru, he looked at you as if you were a goddess... Then, he slowly stepped near, and handed you the bangles you were admiring..

"Saw you looking at these in that store,thought you'd like it if I gifted them to you.. " He ran a hand through his hair, looking away, avoiding your gaze because he was shy.

"That's... So thoughtful. You.. You heard me say that? That I loved these?" You were smiling shyly, while again utahime was taking candid shots while nanami was pretending he wasn't interested. Shoko and Geto were shamelessly giggling.

"Y-yeah.. By the way, you look.. Beautiful" He said that and walked away so rigidly. He got too flustered..

You decided to wear the dress the whole day, and in the flower shop, he gently put a jasmin gajra (floral hair string) in your braid, whispering against the shell of your ear

"You look extra beautiful with this.." His hands gently squeezed your hips before he stepped back.

And you were left as an adorable blushing mess, because everytime you caught a whiff of the sweet scent of jasmine, you remembered him.

Since your hometown was just 2 hours away from Manali, you asked your friends if they wanted to come. And of course they said yes because they knew this was the perfect opportunity to tease you and Satoru in front of your family. So y'all packed up, left the cabin, and took the first bus of the day.

During the bus ride, you fell asleep on his shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around you, pulling you snugly against his side.

And just as you reached, your mom and your two siblings (younger than you) immediately started to ask you about Satoru.

You mom was ecstatic, thinking you finally got a boyfriend while your dad was smiling, happy for you. And your siblings were asking the others if you and Satoru were dating. That's when Shoko and Geto showed them the photos they took, and because of that you were teased mercilessly the whole day. Meanwhile Satoru tried to show he was annoyed, but he was enjoying every second of it.

That night, you were sitting in the courtyard, stargazing, when he sat beside you.

"Beautiful right..?" He said, looking at you

"Yeah, the stars are so pretty. " You said with a dazed smile

"I wasn't talking about the stars.. " Satoru said softly while cupping your cheeks..

"T-toru.. " You whispered his name like a prayer, and that was it

He pulled you in a kiss. Soft, gentle, and slowly getting passionate that made your lips feel tingly, your brain go fuzzy, until only his taste lingered.

"Fuck- I love you y/n" His blue eyes, usually cocky grin, had completely shifted to something softer and deeper.. "I waited the whole trip, but not anymore. I'm fucking in love with you. Every moment during this trip was a torture, because I wanted to whisk you away and kiss you senseless. My beautiful wildflower, so untamed yet so shy. All mine. And I'm all yours.."

His words, spoken with such devotion made your knees go weak "toru, I love you too.. We will come here again, just us.. And then you can kiss me senseless whenever you want to"

"Oh I plan to~" And there it was, that stupid smirk. Not teasing, but definitely full of intent.

With that, he quietly carried you to your bedroom, careful not to wake anyone up. And well, you know what happened~

Finally it was time to go. That day, you both announced your relationship. You family was so happy, and your friends teased you a lot the whole way back home. After a bittersweet goodbye to your family, you all left for the airport, for your flight back to Tokyo.

10 years later, you're both 28. Life wasn't easy, but you had each other. Got married, and were in Manali again, just like you both had promised each other

"Remember when you said you wanted to kiss me senseless that day? " You teased Satoru, who was hugging you from behind, standing in the balcony enjoying the cool breeze

"I remember, my darling wife~ and that's exactly what I'm going to do now"

With that, he pulled you in a deep kiss, and in that moment you both knew that those summer holidays gave you both your forever..
