I just... I want our kid to know that I'm not my dad. I just want him to know that I was a good dad who gave him a real home. Our home.

Still thinking about Bones and like
So in the earlier seasons Brennan straight up is like, I don't want kids. And then of course the reveal we get of Booth and Brennan officially getting into a relationship is because she's pregnant and I just....
I'm not saying I don't like that they have Christine and Hank, but I am saying that I think there was a lot of potential for Booth and Brennan getting into a relationship in a different way firstly [though I do understand that the point is they kinda dance around each other, will they, won't they type situation that needed a big push to get official]
and more importantly if they had chosen to do something like a custody change or killing off Hannah [maybe even through something related to Booths line of work? 👀]
It could've opened the door to exploring Brennan and like, step-motherhood/being a semi maternal figure without necessarily being forced into full blown motherhood, as well as explore the fact that you can not want children directly but still care and love for one/them as well as make exceptions in circumstances of those you love [as in, maybe she doesn't want kids, but she loves Booth, and Booth has a kid, it's a package deal that you have to learn compromise on]
Also would've been interesting to continue focusing on how she's almost mother-like to her interns later and such, plus having Angela be a mom without Brennan being a mom could've had very fun aunt dynamic while again going back to my earlier point of maybe you don't want kids but that doesn't mean you can't care and love one, such as a nephew?
Do you guys get what I'm saying? Again, don't dislike how the show played out but it feels a little weird to me that, in my personal opinion, throughout the show Brennan changes more for Booth than it feels Booth changes for her (NOT SAYING HE DOESN'T COMPROMISE AND CHANGE, but it feels like it does fall more on her which feels... Meh)
[Also yes I'm well aware it's cuz Emily Deschanel got pregnant irl and props to them for not doing the "literally just always have something hiding the belly" trick, I can appreciate it and still dislike how the plot had to be written, especially cuz my last paragraph isn't even in relation to the pregnancy]
BONES - 1.09, 'The Man in the Fallout Shelter'
Teenage Parker: Uncle Zack, I need dating advice, how did you ask Uncle Sweets out?
Zack: I didn't, he helped prove my innocence and got me out of the loney bin. Later he came to the Jeffersonian and kissed me after I got my job back.
Parker: Wha-
Sweets *sipping tea*: It’s true, his autistic behaviour captivated me.
Parker: Yeah, I'm not going to say I committed murder, you weirdos.

I wrote a cross over fandom fic. I wrote a 9-1-1 meets Bones fic. Christopher Diaz is frustrated that his dad can’t see he’s in love with his work partner. So he reaches out to Parker Booth. I’m bad at summarizing but it’s cute and fun and has a lot of details mentioned from the show
