It's interesting, the things you can learn from reading something as innocuous as IMDb. The cast of Lego Ninjago is a cast of actors I often forget about, because I feel like the actors up here in Canada never get the representation of actors in the US. Who knows of our actors? Who knows Paul Soles? You should! He was Spider-Man in the 60s cartoon and Hermey the Elf for the Rudolph Rankin-Bass special. But because he wasn't american and he wasn't a big name, he wasn't on any of your radars! And that's the problem. Canada like any country that isn't the US or (occasionally) the UK seems to be incredibly neglected.
I'm getting off topic, so let's focus back in. I've been really bored lately, so I was looking at the IMDb pages for some of the cast of Lego Ninjago. I think some of the things I've learned about their careers have been pretty interesting, so I feel like marathon sharing some fun facts here. I'll try to cover as many of the actors as I can, but I'm focusing on the ones who I know the least about/who I find the most interesting stuff on. But I'll say the actor and then their character in brackets next to them.
Kirby Morrow (Cole): He played Jesus in a weird animated religious movie. He was in one episode of Supernatural, Arrow and Flash. Yeah, he was in the Arrowverse twice doing different minor characters each time. He was also in a few Hallmark movies. Oh, and 8 episodes of Stargate Atlantis.
Brent Miller (Zane): He was involved in casting for Dragontales, IMDb says. I don't know if I've seen that show, but it does seem interesting that he has work in the production sector if things.
Paul Dobson (Sensei Wu): He's played Doctor Doom, Juggernaut, Beta Ray Bill and Hogun for Marvel shows. He did 2 different CSI video games. He apparently even did ADR for Arthur Christmas, which is something that feels really interesting to me. I don't know why, but that one kind of surprised me.
Kelly Metzger (Nya): Lots of Christmas credentials. She was in Noelle, Jingle all the way 2 with Larry the Cable Guy and a Hallmark movie or two. She was also in one episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. And she seems to play minor parts in a lot of tv shows.
Jillian Michaels (Lloyd for seasons 1 to 7): Besides Lloyd for Ninjago, apparently she's done Pochaccho for some English Sanrio dubs. And yeah, I still find it kind of interesting how she shares a name with an old US reality tv star.
Mark Oliver (Lord Garmadon): His page on IMDb says he wrote an episode of a ww2 documentary. He also appeared in an episode of Smallville as "Limo Passenger," which is kind of interesting. He's done a lot of smaller video game work, and he's been in the TV show Cloak and Dagger as a newscaster. So he's been in DC shoes and Marvel shows. Also, I think he edits his own IMDb page. Some of the pronouns under one of the videos uses personal pronouns like I, so there's a good chance he edits his own IMDb page.
