Now that the final chapter is out, I’d like to Officially Release The Glass Gemstone again. (This time with a searchable link! Much less of a hassle.)

This fanfiction was inspired by some AU angst fanart of Change Your Mind by @minimuii back in January where Steven... doesn’t make it back together, and all Connie can say is, “Come back.”

Since adding that link will ruin the searchableness of this post, I’ll add it in a followup reblog, and I hope anyone who reblogs this will go grab that version first. (I’ll also include another bit of angst art by Muii, because that got referenced in one chapter, and it Hurts So Good.)

And because I’m Just That Extra, I wrote a song for the final chapter! I wouldn’t recommend listening until you get to the end, but here it is:

Is Bismuth a Giant Pebble?

is it just me who noticed the similarities between the Pebbles and Bismuth? If the Pebbles were made from Pink Diamond's tears then did Rose experiment with bringing larger beings to life like lion before creating one giant, advanced Pebble out of Earth's elements???

Chapter 7 of The Glass Gemstone, posted in convenient searchable link format, a fic inspired by art from the skillzed @minimuii, is out! A little early! I was,,, very relieved by the reception of the last couple chapters? There were a few directions this story could have taken, and this one felt the most... important, even if it’s not as much in sync with the tone of the original art. I hope it wasn’t disappointing. (Garnet’s future visions were actually other endings I had considered. I even considered writing them out, but I’m not sure. Maybe someone else can if they want.)
