Vedic Astrology on Spiritual & Religious paths:
I’ve observed that Spiritual people have Ketu, Saturn and Mars stronger than Jupiter, Sun and Rahu in their charts.
Similarly, Religious people have Jupiter, Sun and Rahu stronger than Ketu, Saturn and Mars in their charts.
For a spiritual path, you mainly need:
— Detachment from pleasures of the world. Choosing the lone confusing path of finding oneself and the ultimate truth (Ketu)
— Willingness to rebel against the system you were born into/forced into. Willingness to be alone, to be hurt in the process of healing. Understanding of karma in everything. (Saturn)
— The willpower to change your old patterns! To meditate, seek god within oneself. Tapas/Yogic practices require rigorous strength of mind and consistency (Mars)
For a religious path, you mainly need:
An influence/mentor who pushes you towards God. A family, a culture, a society that inspires you to follow a form of god. The gift/ability to recite mantras and prayers (Jupiter)
A set of rules and restrictions. A guide/code to live by. Lore. History. Mythology. Epics. Mantras. Shastras. Bible. Quran. Old texts. A cult. A place to perform prayers (Sun)
Obsession. Enough obsession to defend and wage war for your religion and only yours. The rigorous discipline to live by the books, to follow everything without questioning right or wrong, inability to see people of other religions as equals—to be trapped in that loop of maya (Rahu)
Now, not every spiritual person is completely against religion. Not every religious person is completely disrespectful towards other religions! What I explained above was the extremity of both.
Lets say a spiritual person has Sun in good dignity although not stronger than Ketu, Saturn or Mars, they’ll be fascinated about religions still. ✨
Maybe a religious person is interested in exploring other religions, because their Rahu isn’t that karmic enough to keep them in the oblivious loop of maya.
Let’s also consider Moon. Moon is a luminary and it’s what connects our mind with the divine. Let’s say moon is connected with the spiritual set of planets, you’ll be more inclined towards that path. Moon is like a chameleon, it goes with whoever is influencing it. Moon with the religious set of planets, the other way around.
Venus gives bhakti, devotion and unconditional love to whatever it influences. May it be religious planets or spiritual planets.
Mercury influence makes you do things for FUN. For the thrill of it. To see if it’s working. Like a curious child reaching towards flame. In fact, the stronger the mercury the more you’re not interested in religion or spirituality. Mercury is that kid who mocks what it cannot comprehend. That scientist who laughs at gods and myths. Mercury needs proof. This is why a debilitated Mercury searches for the meaning of god and universe restlessly, whereas the exalted Mercury is content with science and what exists before the eyes WITH SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE.
