The wind whispered through the trees as you walked along the dirt path leading back to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. The sky was a soft lavender hue, the first stars beginning to twinkle above. It had been a long mission, but at least it had ended in victory.
You barely made it past the first torii gate when you heard it—a rustling, then hurried footsteps.
“Y/n-sensei!”
Three voices, in unison, calling out to you.
You didn’t even have time to turn before a weight slammed into your side. Tanjiro, ever so gentle despite his strength, buried his face in your shoulder. His breath hitched, relief clear in the way his hands clutched your haori.
“You’re back,” he murmured. “We were so worried.”
A second body crashed into your other side, significantly less gentle.
“Where the hell were you?! We’ve been starving without you!” Inosuke’s voice was loud, muffled only slightly by the way his forehead was pressed into your shoulder. “These idiots didn’t let me run into the mountains to find you!”
And then, Zenitsu. Clinging to your arm like a desperate child, his wails loud enough to alert the entire estate.
“Y-Y/n-sensei! You can’t just go off on dangerous missions without us! What if something happened to you?! Who would cook for us?! Who would make sure Inosuke doesn’t punch a Hashira in the face?! Who would protect us?!”
You sighed, though your lips curled into a fond smile. These three were more than just your students. Somewhere along the line, they had become your ducklings, following you around wherever you went, seeking your approval, your presence.
With a chuckle, you ruffled their hair one by one.
“I missed you too,” you admitted. “And I’m fine. You know I’m a Hashira, right? It’ll take more than a few demons to take me down.”
“B-But still!” Zenitsu sniffled.
“Enough whining,” Inosuke grumbled, though he was still very much glued to your side. “She’s back, and now she can feed us!”
Tanjiro laughed softly, finally pulling back, though his hands still clutched your sleeve. “Are you hungry too, Y/n-sensei? You must be exhausted.”
You hummed, pretending to consider it. “I could use a meal. How about we all eat together? My treat.”
Zenitsu gasped, tears sparkling in his eyes. “I knew it! You do love us! You do care!”
Inosuke pumped a fist into the air. “FOOOOD! Finally!”
Tanjiro’s smile was radiant, his exhaustion melting into quiet happiness. “Let’s go. I’ll help cook.”
And just like that, the three of them trailed behind you, sticking close like ducklings to their mother.
You couldn’t help but feel warm at the sight.
Yes, they were warriors.
Yes, they were strong.
But at the end of the day, they were still just kids.
And you would protect them, feed them, and care for them as long as they needed you to.
The kitchen at headquarters was already warm when you arrived, and despite their exhaustion, all three boys eagerly helped prepare the meal.
Tanjiro, ever reliable, was already washing rice and cutting vegetables. Zenitsu grumbled about being forced to help, but his hands moved skillfully as he worked on seasoning the fish. Inosuke, surprisingly, listened to directions—for the most part. He still insisted on “hunting” ingredients, which really just meant charging into the pantry and coming back with an entire bag of flour like it was a prized kill.
“Y/n-sensei! Look! I got this myself! Now make something good with it!”
You pinched the bridge of your nose. “Inosuke, put that back. We don’t need flour for-”
“Don’t waste my bounty!”
Zenitsu groaned. “You absolute barbarian! You can’t just bring random things and expect them to work in the meal!”
“Yes, I can! And Y/n-sensei is the best! She can cook anything!”
You sighed but patted Inosuke’s head, making him freeze in place before puffing up proudly. “I appreciate the enthusiasm. How about next time we bake something?”
The wild boar boy nodded sagely. “Hmph. Fine. But only because you said so.”
Dinner was simple. grilled fish, miso soup, fresh rice, and vegetables. Nothing fancy, but by the way the three of them practically inhaled their portions, you would have thought it was a feast.
Zenitsu let out a dramatic sigh, clutching his stomach. “I could cry. This is the best meal I’ve had in forever.”
Tanjiro, cheeks slightly puffed with rice, nodded in agreement. “It’s really good, Y/n-sensei. Thank you.”
Inosuke, on his third serving, was too busy stuffing his face to respond verbally. Instead, he let out a pleased grunt.
You shook your head fondly. “Honestly, what would you three do without me?”
Hey can u do a little story about muichiro reacting to reader being stronger than gyomei and beat sanemi in a spar battle I love u forever if u do😘😘😘😘
Warning. i suck ass at trying to describe fight scenes!
Also fun fact! I've never read the manga, or watched the anime. So everything I do, and know, is basically off fanfiction, edits, and random tiktoks that pop up on my feed.
Lack of pronouns so you can be whatever you wanna be. This is Platonic (Sorry if you wanted different.)
Also having an old friend gush about the series, spoiling everything, kinda helps???

Muichiro was looking at the clouds when he heard loud grunting and shouts. Which wasn't unusual given how everyone was training harder than ever to prepare for the final battle.
And usually he would ignore the noises and continue to look at the clouds. However a certain shout from the Wind pillar forced his interest yet again, and he stood up and followed the noises.
"YOU BITCH! I WANT A REMATCH!" He heard Sanemi yell, next hearing a familar voice chiding the other. "Tsk, Tsk. That was the 4th time in a row! Besides, you strictly ordered me to not hold back on you!"
Turning around the corner he saw you, the [whatever ] pillar, the newest one, taunting the raging wind pillar. He watched as a grin curled upon your lips as you continued to talk to the other.
His mind wandered off now thinking about you. Despite your [Skinny/thicc/average] build, you were freakishly strong. Stronger than the beloved Stone pillar even. Which took everybody by surprise once hearing such a claim.
Of course, they wanted to test your words. So when it ended with you straddling the Stone Pillar, with you [Weapon of choice] Right next to the equally as battered as yourself's neck...well you can imagine the responses.
(When that happened you got a gentle head pat and soft praises from Gyomei.)
Oyakata welcomed you with open arms, even before the duel. And you got the first hand reprimanded of the insect hashira. He remembered you being confident yet not cocky about your skills. He remembered your kind smile you sent him.
Sadly at the time he didn't remember his past so he forgot you soon after, but that never stopped you from trying to befriend him. He ignored you though, usually and that was that.
However now was different. Any day, Muzan could attack. He has the majority of his memories back. And before it was over, he wanted to apologize, and maybe squeeze in some bonding.
-Meanwhile-
A loud thump surrounded throughout the training grounds. "Good job! You lasted longer than last time!" You praised Sanemi, who only scoffed and begrudgingly took your offered hand and stood back up. "Fucking hell, woman/man/asshole. You could have held back a tiny bit when fucking body slamming me to the ground." He hissed.
You simply laughed it off with a grin. "Again you told me not to. Besides, can't really improve your strategies if I don't give it my all." He rolls his pale almost black eyes at you and flips you the finger. "Whatever."
You chuckle again before looking past him and noticing a dazed looking Muichiro standing next to a tree. "Hey! Mui! Whatcha doing there?" You called out to the young one, ignoring Sanemi's hiss. (You were right by his ear when you yelled)
Any doubts about approaching you died, haven seen you beat the shit out of Sanemi's pride in the spar. It still amazed him just how strong you were, it was even a little scary. But he came here for a reason, dammit!
He kept silent as he approached you two. "..." "....?"
You two just stared at each other
One confused and the other contemplating.
At this point Sanemi left you two idiots alone.
"Muichiro?" Your voiced called out to him. He mentally sighs before speaking up. "Do you want to cloud watch with me?" Blunt, as always.
He watched as your paused, and your eyes gleam in approval. "Of course! But why the sudden change of mind?"
Silence.
"You're strong. You didn't give up on approaching me, which was stupid of you." he starts off. "You remind me of my brother. "
Your heart swelled, ahh too cute. You smile at him and take his hand. "Sure. Lets go watch clouds then." He turned away to hide the small smile he had. "okay."

Hope you like it! I ended up skipping the fight scenes entirely. Sorry, for that. Never wrote for him before. Apologies for any and all OOC-ness.
Probably isn't exactly what you wanted, but I tried my best.
Swap races au.Santana is one of the scientists who were observing the experiment with the pillar man they had found.
(Gender neutral reader.)
The team had been doing some interaction experiments with the Pillar creature, it had been hours since they woke up from their slumber. Santana, one of the scientists carefully watched every action the being took and jotted down on his clipboard, he was eager to learn more about that creature and would record every detail of that experiment. After a while he noticed that the creature simply ignored every new thing they put in for them to interact with. The red-haired man saw on the monitor that the creature was looking at his teammates, or rather, at him.
"...r... red hair..." Said the creature from the pillar, their tone sounded curious and was complemented by their admiring gaze.
Santana was a very different human from the ones Y/N had seen in thousands of years. Santana felt a chill down her spine when she saw the creature he believed to be primitive speaking his language, referring directly to him. He decided to go downstairs to where there was an observatory where he could see the creature up close.
When he got downstairs he noticed that the pillar man was still looking at him. Slowly the creature approaches still with a curious look towards Santana, he sees that they were looking at the badge on his coat then he approached the glass so that the being had a better view.
"...S-Santana...?" Santana slightly smiled when she saw that the creature could also read.
"This is my name."
"I-i see, why am I here?"
"We're doing tests to see your level of intellect, and apparently we're getting good results." Y/N looks around and observes that place where it was, already having an idea of what those scientists intended.
"...you...you don't have the slightest intention of freeing me, do you?"
Santana swallows the dry, and is silent for a few seconds which only confirms the pillar creature's thoughts.
"Heh...I knew it, but that's ok, I hate having to take people's lives, I'll cooperate with you, if you promise me you'll set me free, otherwise I'll have to find my way to escape.
"If you help us, I promise you that you'll have a chance to prove yourself rational, which might help you get out of here."
"...Deal."
The red haired man nods, and the Pillar copies his action, that was somewhat adorable, but he knew it was a mistake to underestimate that creature. Santana's teammates call him again and Y/N understands the human had things to do.
"A-apparently you are a very busy human." their tone seemed kind of upset with the red haired human gone, Y/N wanted to get a little more of their attention.
"I have to go but I'll be back, I still want to know more about you." Y/N is impressed with what the human said, they had never seen someone curious enough to want to question them.
"Same thing…after all it's not like I'm going anywhere." Santana says goodbye to Y/N and as he climbs the stairs he hears them calling for him again.
"Santana..."
"Hm?"
"T-tell the other humans that i think the name they gave me stupid."
Santana was not a man to laugh easily but the way Y/N claimed that the name they were given was stupid made Santana find the situation funny. He realizes he should have asked the Pillar man's real name in order to register them.
"What is your name?"
"Y/N, my name is Y/N."
"Y/N isn't it? I won't forget."
"Then see you later Santana."
"See you later Y/N."
The man returns to his work, keeping in mind every second he spent talking to the creature. Y/N was certainly someone interesting and who deserved a chance to be studied more closely, he would definitely see Pillar man more often but who knows what would prepare him for a future encounter?
Hello 💗 i want to request headcanons for sanemi with a pillar s/o who is stoic and rarely shows emotions but behind closed doors she’s easily flustered and is a sweetheart. thank you so much!
Sanemi is the kind of guy that requires someone to prove their worth first before earning his respect. This is certainly no easy feat either, and just because someone was a pillar, it didn’t mean jack to him unless they had something to show for it.
Sheer strength alone isn’t what’s important to him–someone has to have a quick mind and a sincere heart to truly gain his trust, but if they do it will be a bond that can’t be broken by space or even time itself.
Sanemi is deeply loyal, and will fiercely protect the ones he cares for to his very last breath, even if it means turning his back and leaving them behind for the sake of keeping them safe.
When it comes to feelings, he’s absolutely terrible at social delicacy, and will outright say what’s on his mind if he’s got something to say. This bluntness however is outmatched by one other thing, and that is his sheer confusion on how to convey affection.
His mind practically breaks down at the sight of someone being affectionate towards him, and more often than not causes him to resort to violent outbursts in order to hide his embarrassment. It isn’t until he actually finds himself liking someone back that he actively tries to make his feelings properly known.
With a partner that is so oppositely gentle and sweet, he’ll have an even harder time struggling to get the words out in a way he feels they deserve to hear them. If they’re so kind to someone as brash and mean as him, he’s definitely going to want to try to open up his soft side to them–if only to express how grateful he really is to have them by his side.
Past the initial hurdles of showing his love for them, once he learns of how easily flustered they are, he’s not going to let it go. Teasing his poor companion for the sheer amusement of seeing their face light up never fails to bring a smile to his face, and he thoroughly enjoys getting to do so every chance he gets (behind closed doors of course, because no one gets to see his lover like this except him and only him).
Around the other pillars he is basically the same as always, if not slightly less foul-tempered thanks to his companion’s presence near him. Blatant pda is not his style as he only wants his eyes on you, and to also maintain his normal ‘nobody screw with me’ image, so only the most fleeting of temple kisses before seeing them off are to be naturally expected. If anyone is an idiot enough to try stepping too close to his turf though, he’s not afraid to threaten them with a clear message to back off of what’s his to protect, no matter how able his partner may be to handle things on their own.
