now that we know riordan is using some heroes of olympus knowledge to add things to the pjo show, thalia is going to be CRASHING OUT when annabeth gets kidnapped in s3 even WORSE than she did in the book. this is the SECOND baby sibling that she’s lost to the gods’ bullshit!!

the writers are fully aware of this fact (which riordan was not when he originally wrote ttc) so i expect them to use their knowledge to make the whole fandom cry

This is just my opinion, BOTL is the biggest turning point of romantic tension between them. Only Annabeth is aware of it, and her attitude in the whole book is so valid because she’s giving out all the signals and Percy is like “man, what’s up with her?”.

BOTL is heavy with Annabeth’s obvious feelings (through her jealousy and sass and the kiss) and everyone else is pointing it out clear as day to Percy. HE STILL is NOT putting it together.

Even HE says he feels hurt when she’s not around and gets embarrassed when she holds his hand, AND gets butterflies when they touch.

My headcanon is that he thinks Annabeth is too cool to want to be with someone like him. As readers, we think he’s cool, but he’s also an insecure teenage boy!

This is why Walker is so perfect for this role, he was just as oblivious as Percy. Leah is perfect for Annabeth because recognizes and understands Annabeth’s feelings.
