Heatwave/Blades/Boulder/Chase Headcanons

• None of them actually remember when they became official. Let's be honest, they'd likely been dating since Academy, but only labeled it after they were on Earth for a while (when they started understanding what a relationship actually was).

• Heatwave actually really enjoys cuddles, but he acts like he doesn't. He acts like this imposing figure but he prefers to be on the bottom of the sleep pile so he can feel the weight of his partners on top of him.

• Blades and Boulder plan the date nights! Boulder's idea of a romantic date is a nature walk! He'll take the other three on a walk into the woods of Griffin Rock, point out the animals, and explain what he knows. The other three ask questions, nuzzle into him, and definitely sit out under the stars with him. Blades will select a movie, or have them scrapbook with him. Heatwave grumbles but puts in the most effort he can, Chase asks a lot of questions, but eventually participates... Even if his page ends up being two or three.

• Chase, while not being the most physically affectionate, becomes the clingiest when he's with his partners. He hugs and kisses them regularly, and will even let his engine idle in a purr so they can hear how much he loves them.

• Somehow, the Burns didn't know they were dating for ages. Of course, their giant alien robot companions showed friendship in an interesting way, but they didn't really apply any human-like romantic interactions with them. They thought it was normal behavior for them, but... They eventually figured it out. On complete accident.

• Blades and Chase pile on top of the Heatwave and Boulder. They don't sleep any other way, just on top of their larger partners.

* Additionally, Blades struggles to sleep without the other three, which is why missions where he's separated from them longer than a night he becomes more anxious and sleep deprived.

• Heatwave accidentally outed their relationship in front of Kade once. Kade did not understand what he was talking about and stared at him stupidly. Never brought it up after. Heatwave was both relieved and annoyed because Kade is stupid (/lh).

• Boulder paints his partners! They are his muse and he loves them so much. Of course, where they're not landscapes, he keeps these paintings to himself and shows them to his beloved partners. Blades always fawns, Chase smiles and compliments his work (with as much enthusiasm as he can express), and Heatwave gets all flustered and tries to hide his face behind a large servo.

• Heatwave's love language is touch. He loves being close to his partners, holding their servos, having his face buried in the crooks of their necks. Or bullying. He also loves picking on them playfully, especially because they know he's joking.

• Blades calls his other partners gay if he sees them kissing. In turn, they call him gay because he's on the relationship, too. Cue dramatic gasp and pearl clutching.

* Blades had to explain to them what gay meant the first time he said it. Chase looked it up in the dictionary and pointed out it had two meanings. "1. A person interested in the same-sex. 2. Formerly meant happy." He then claimed to be both. Heatwave and Boulder laughed until they cried.

• Boulder makes sure all his partners have eaten and are well-fueled, because they often get caught up in what they're doing and forget.

•PDA is common with them all. They are clingy, and no one can really deny it.

I love them so much, and this is only a few of my headcanons for them <3

it’s about time i post my polybots sparkling on here, my bad for taking this long to getting around to it LOL

this is dispatch (nicknamed pebble by their parents)! like it says on their ref, they’re an ambulance and were created by doc greene! using all four of her sires cna, she was made in a test tube. this was preferable to one of the bots carrying given how dangerous and stressful their line of work is. they also happen to be cody’s partner in the field! which they also happen to be named after him in a way, given that cody’s job is the dispatcher. their parents and all of the burnses adore them and i hope you guys do too!
