TIME SHENANIGANS in QL shows: a (non)comprehensive list

i've been meaning to make this list for personal reference for quite some time, but i thought that maybe someone else could find it useful too, so im sharing it just in case!!!!!

but before we get into the list....what exactly are “time shenanigans”? as established with the help of a lovely anon, time shenanigans refer to any time-related element that changes an already determined future or alters a pre-existing timeline, causing certain events to be rewritten. this includes things like time travel, time loops, and precognition. however, the changes brought about by these elements must be one of the main driving forces of the story

because of this, not all instances of time travel qualify as time shenanigans. for example, shows in which the main character travels hundreds of years into the past often don’t focus on how their presence alters the original timeline, so they aren’t included here

with that said, here’s a list of all the QL shows i’ve watched that include what i’d call time shenanigans, divided into completely objective and totally unbiased categories:

Have you ever seen Affair the series/have any interest in it? Just a curious viewer of your blog as i generally adore your thoughts and takes on characters and their motivations/feelings and they’re my personal favorite GL couple. If not then no need to answer this! Instead i’ll just ask what are you favorite gl/lesbian couples and why? (Besides sammon ofc!)

I have not seen nor heard of it, but I'll check it out! It'll have to wait until Payback is done. Despite being poly in my personal life, I weirdly find it difficult to focus on more than one ship at a time. I get hyperfixated.

I haven't actually seen many GLs. I really should seek them out more, given the fact that I find women more appealing than men in most ways. But I don't seek out BL often these days either. I'll check with @heretherebedork and @absolutebl if I'm feeling a craving, but they don't tend to watch GL often, and usually what I'm looking for is D/s and ideally S&M, which I just haven't found in any GL shows yet. It would require a lot of research, because rarely do mdl synopses state if there's a D/s vibes in shows.

So I guess this is a request to my followers and anyone else who sees this! Are there any GL shows out there with a D/s vibe? Feel free to comment or send an anon if you feel self conscious.

It is Thanksgiving here today and I just want to express my thankfulness for the QL community here on tumblr for being part of my life for the past four years (MADNESS) and for all the shows we've shared and opinion we've clashed on and the many, many characters we've loved and hated and been disappointed in together. Love y'all. Never a dull moment and so many shows airing right now, everything is wonderful even when it's not.

as someone who was watching BL from the time that you had to rewatch addicted and the two available history series 5 times as you prayed for months for something, anything new and maybe if you were lucky there wouldn’t be casual, narratively unaddressed sexual assault in it and maybe you’d see a woman in it who wasn’t just someone’s mother or a vapid love rival- demand more from your queer shows! demand the portrayal of authentic queer communities and the rejection of heteronormativity. this is business this is capitalism be obnoxious about the things you want!!! We deserve sweet stories, sexy ones, vapid ones, messy ones, deep ones!!!! If you fall anywhere within the queer umbrella anything YOU want from a queer show is a valid desire - be pushy about it!!!! I’ve lived on scraps fam and guess what!!! We’re no longer on scraps no more scarcity mindset and being grateful for what we get!!!

Hey QL fandom! A YouTube channel I'm very fond of, specialized in making QL content, it's having its own awards voting event!

The name of the channel it's HiBL! and they have made a lot of interviews with BL actors, even First and Kathoung twice

I like them a lot, since they tend to do light, fun, and actually informative segments with the actors, truly a great channel!
