Because I have to spell it out for people re: Agnid: Emma Myers's comments (+ More Shortform Adolescent Development Talk & Queer Dynamics ↔️ All Three):
This is the whole comment Alien Banana and all the rest of the people tryna dissuade people from shipping Agnid is referencing:
Emma says that Agnes is a baby because of course, to a 23-year-old actress, a 13-year-old is a baby. But to Enid, who is 16 or 17 and developmentally a late bloomer who lived with an early bloomer like Wednesday for a semester already, she would understand how Agnes is their equal.
We've already covered this here, but to reiterate: They are in the same legal age group; if they weren't, there wouldn't be any R&J "close in age exceptions" for 13yos capable of consenting to someone under 19 years old. Theoretically by VT law, a 13yo can date an 18yo and více versa with no legal issue (not that I would automatically support that big of a gap in our world; humans are extremely individual/variable and in general, the 13 to 14yos walking around aren't anywhere near as prepared as someone like Agnes to date that much older).
But okay, let's set aside the law and talk about their biological, cognitive, and socio-emotional development (all 3):
(I'd also like to interrupt the AI here to make mention that our only canon idea as to Agnes's age is Wednesday derisively mocking/dismissing her. If Agnes is a freshman at Nevermore, then she's 14.)
Now let's drop them into the framework of 🏳️🌈queerness/lesbian🏳️🌈 coming-of-age relationships:
Obscured text: "drawing it out of her is younger"
Obscured text: "a different way of surviving"
Takeaway: SHIP THEM, YOU IDIOTS. SHIP. THEM. HARDER.
