I'd just think it be real neat if Jonathan, Nancy, Steve and Robin had been childhood best friends like the core four.

The OG Fruity Four are so different outwardly but yet so similar at their core and in their loneliness. I just want the found family vibes sooner is that too much to ask.

Them in another universe finding eachother sooner, and choosing to love eachother. Them having a bond that's foremost love and not trauma. Them not feeling so unmoored when the upside down comes knocking at the door. Them having people who let's them be silly and vulnerable.

now i don't ship stonathan but technically steve, jon, robin and nancy have all met each other so they are the og fruity four. so i feel there needs to be a push against st'ddie/ronance fruity four and a more of a push for stonathan/ronance fruity four

so for stonathan/ronance we should call them the queer quartet to differentiate them from the st'ddie/ronance fruity for

This may be a controversial opinion, but one of the things that I think the fruity four lacks that stonathan+ronance has is the legitimate double platonic besties energy. Let me explain, fruity four fans try to make Eddie and Nancy best friends, occasionally, but they simply aren't. You know who would be, in the case of ronance and stonathan? Jonathan and Nancy. They already are best friends. I think if they had a mutual and good breakup, then they'd be able to stay best friends easily.

A bonus aspect is the fact that everyone is canonically alive for ronance+stonathan.

Possibly unpopular opinion: Nancy Wheeler is a lesbian and Steve Harrington is gay, and they both have just been operating under the social pressure and assumption that they must be straight.

Nancy's comphet will be defeated one day, because there was undertones to her relationship with Barb I swear to god, and as soon as men start getting a bit too serious with her she understandably nopes out and gets spooked. Her behaviour to Robin and her apparent unawareness that she was coming off hostile and then afterwards warms up to Robin, it all just rings my former comphet bell...

Steve will eventually stop and realise he talks about the idea of dating girls and the image of a future that he's "supposed" to make more than actually wanting to date any of them, and sounds like he's just experiencing regular friendship when he thinks it's romantic feelings for Nancy and then Robin. (I did used to be team bi Steve all the way, but the way he acts and talks about it all, it feels just too much like social conditioning than actually liking women; he doesn't seem like he likes them, he just thinks he should.)

Also Jonathan Byers is absolutely bisexual, I said so. Him and Argyle? Okay.

so i have a funny realization

between these two groups

these two idiotic and stupid groups whom my friend and i love very much

let me list down some familiar things and details though:

one girl has a girl best friend who dies

one guy is a former "bully" who stopped and just wanted to not be like that anymore

one guy is pinning over his childhood friend but is keeping the fact that he likes her to himself

one girl is a quiet person who is misinterpreted to be cold and just "focused" on academics

the two guys have chemistry and banter with each other and have actual scenes that may be taken in a very gay way

same with the two girls, except it started with a rivalry sort of sense

one of the girls is "different" for one reason or another but one guy and the other girl never gives up on her

after that one girl's best friend dies, the other girl slowly became her girl best friend in the process of the show

there's a weird love triangle-square thing going on

one of the main human antagonists is an absolute ass, has a mullet, and has the rivalry (aka the want to kill and almost does kill) towards one of the guys

one girl and one guy have never properly "interacted and got close to one another", at least hopefully not yet

forced together by outside life threatening forces

now, here's the real question

am i talking about the main four of st or the main four of aouad?
