Since OL isekai and Showtime Shio are in the same universe, I kinda wonder if Meihui's original universe is the same as the universe of Night Flowers? (tho Meihui and LJH are most likely not in the same sect even if it's a shared universe, since the vibes of the two sects seem Very Different)
yeah why not. night flowers cinematic universe. it’s happening in a different part of the country on the other side of a mountain ridge or whatever

Sokrates and Civet are the only two Candidates to be named after carnivorous animals. While there is no way it was intentional, I like to think it reflects the fact that they both gave up even more of their agency than is standard for Candidates in the desperate hopes of saving a doomed people, and it’s both ironic and honorific at the same time
Superhero fandom of your choice: “I’ve got you.”
Miles jammed on his web shooter. Whether he was out or it was just jammed he couldn’t tell. It was hard to tell much of anything when you were falling down from the top of the GW bridge.
He looked down at the approaching water below. From this height it might as well be cement. He was gonna splat like a real spider. Ugh, and in the Hudson. Gross.
He felt something attach to his back leg, and his descent started to slow, gently. Just as he stopped, he was able to bounce back up, just a little, aimlessly swinging there.
He looked up, a difficult feat when you were hanging upside down. But he recognized the voice at least. “I got you!” His dad called down to him. “Just hang tight, I got you.”
As he started being pulled up, he was able to get a better picture. His dad stood at the side of the bridge, heedless of the traffic passing him. Mrs. Parker (Right, May, she insisted on being called May) beside him, holding his replacement web shooter, that was currently keeping him from falling any further.
His dad pulled on the web like a rope, reeling him in. As he reached the top, he saw from behind, Dr. Octopus approaching, her arm reaching out to push his Dad off too. “DAD! LOOK OUT!” Miles said without looking.
Miles swung on the web, using it as leverage to jump in the way of the extended arm, intercepting it and holding it back. “I got you!” Miles said, holding her back, “Run!”
May grabbed his Dad’s hand and took for cover, letting Miles fight his own battles.
-----
“Did you call me Dad back there?”
“Uh....” Miles said, swallowing and assuming his Low Voice, “No, no, I said...Bad. Because the arms were coming for you. And it was. Bad.”
He frowned, clearly not believing him, but left it.
randomidiocyncrazies replied to your post: “Hey Millie, do you wanna meet Clem’s mom?” oh....
Oh big same! Art has the best character concepts imo…. (grand mag, fave problematic fave)
I feel like Austin and Art share a braincell at all times and its called “how can we make this kind of goofy character concept turn into a knife to stab people in the heart with”
and i respect that
[flips hair] heh. you Will get miserable office women quitting their jobs.
well, other than the base concept of man in the chair and the characters themselves… basically everything?? lol??? I’m wondering if this is close to what they did for bob martin’s wedding, considering just how different it is. I didn’t get super far in but all the songs so far are different, janet is a drag role, and there are a lot of jokes that got adjusted (“an aviatrix, what we now call a feminist” instead of “an aviatrix, what we now call a lesbian”). it’s got the basic skeleton of the final show but it’s very different
oh and 12, 30 and 35? (sorry it. slipped my mind the first time...)
my friend. my buddy. my pal. you could drop a cinderblock on my head and I’d forgive you with open arms.
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
Hm… I think I used to be pretty lukewarm on drunkfic but now I think the potential for honesty and Vibes™️ can be fun. it’s interesting to get characters out-of-character but in an in-character way.
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?
not to be crude but every time I end up writing characters with h•rny thoughts or actions about other characters I have to be like. ok. how do I make this convincing enough. how do I reverse engineer what people who experience this go though for at least a smooth and unobtrusive reading experience. and folks might be wondering ‘why go through all the trouble?’ and all I can say to that is. it has to be in-character. anyway I guess the way it affected my approach is that if I read a well-written fic with h•rny content I make a note of what might be useful reference for emotional highlights and character observations.
35. What aspects of your writing are completely unlike your real life?
so much of my writing is romance lol. other than that… intensity of relationship in general, I suppose? I do absolutely love convoluted mutual one sided relationships, which are hopefully situations not relevant to me
