fire emblem really gave us “childhood friends separated by guilt, one of them thinks he’s unforgivable, the other just wants him back in his life” and then had ignatz randomly marry raphael’s sister who we've never seen before in the epilogue slide instead. be serious.

ignatz has been avoiding raphael because he feels like his family is responsible for the accident that killed raphael’s parents. raphael keeps trying to talk to him, keeps noticing he’s running away, and when he finally hears the whole guilt spiral, his answer is basically “that has nothing to do with us. please just be my friend again.” like??? that’s so gentle it makes me ill.

and then the a support gets even better because raphael connects ignatz’s art back to maya, remembers their childhood, and tells him he should follow his dream. “i’m gonna support you with whatever dream you got” is PEAK boyfriend material. no notes.

also the visual of huge sunshine jock raphael being painted by tiny nervous artist ignatz while he insists the muscles have to be included is already romcom content. let them be boyfriends. let maya be their number one supporter. everyone wins.
