I thought as I set the flowers I got for Angel on the table beside their hospital bed. "Hey Angel...I love you..and yeah I say that a lot because I come visit you a lot..heh"
"I'm sorry I couldn't visit you yesterday.. It was so busy myand so stressful..you would have made it better if you were there..never thought I'd admit that.." I chuckled at that a little.
I smiled at that a little. Something that they might have done. I grabbed their hand and gave it a gentle kiss something they love..
"Today wasn't as stressful. Christian was still a pain in the ass like normal.. Asher isn't acting like himself and actually started to take pack meetings more serious and he stopped doodling during them..a lot of things changed when you got into that accident.. Sam and Marie offered to help and heal you as much as they could but I didn't want them using their powers up to the point were their exhausted.... you gave me so many heart attacks you little snot.." I smiled a little.
They would have been laughing their ass off knowing I admitted something like that..
"I love you Angel..and I want you to know that...even if you could or can't hear me.." I said putting their hand against my forehead. I tried not to cry but it was hard. Seeing them lay here in this hospital bed being in a coma. Not being able to hear their voice..or that beautiful laugh that they have.
"I have to go Angel..but I'll come by tomorrow...I promise.." at that I kissed their forehead and stood up and walked out.

I laid against the wall staring at the pictures that hung on the wall. The picture we took together when we first bought the house, the picture that Ash took of Angel shoving cake into my face on my birthday, the picture of Angel playing with the pups in the pack, the picture that Milo took of Angel shoving me into the pool while Marie and Tank laughed in the background, or Angel and me being pied in the face by Ash and Milo while the whole pack where laughing in the background...
I felt tears running down my face. Why. Why did the universe want them to suffer...why didn't the universe choose me...?! Why not me...!
*knock* *knock*
I looked towards the door. It looked like there was multiple people outside."
David! It's me! Ash and the rest of the pack!" I heard Asher scream just enough so I could hear it through the door. But what were they doing here? They didn't send a message or anything? "
Ash?" I said. I opened the door and Asher fell in the house dropping everything he had in his hands. "Ow" he said as he got up picking up the thing that he dropped. "What are you guys doing here?" I said giving the pack a confused look. "Well we didn't want you to be alone on a Friday! So we all brought somethings that we cooked!!" Ash said that same smile that he would always have as a kid and now.
"You? You cooked something?" I said as I raised a brow. "Well....no..I...didn't cook anything..buttttt my mate and I brought some snacks and drinks?" He said as he lifted the same bags he dropped a second ago.
"I'm not surprised" I said as I moved to the side motioning for all of them to come in. Ash was going to take the fist step in but the pups all ran in at the same time making Ash fall again.
"God damn it" Asher said getting up and running after the pups.

After everything was settled and all the dishes that everyone cooked were warm we started to pull out tables to the back yard so everyone could sit it was dark out but the lights that Angel and I put up where lighting the whole backyard so it looked nice.
I came out with a stack of plates and Marie came out with the stack of cups and Sam came with the utensils.
"thanks for helping" I said to both of them as we got everything set up so we could all start eating. "Of course David. Your goin' through a hard time right now you need all the support you can get." Marie said patting my back. "Yeah this is the least we could do to help and my offer still stands 'bout helping your mate David" Sam said with a comforting smile. "Thank you." I said giving him a smile of my own.
"your parents would be so proud of you" Marie said as she set the last cup down. "Thanks Marie.." I said. She shot me a small smile and then called out to everyone that the food would come out in a little so everyone could get ready so all the people in the pool could get dry or something.

When everyone was settled with food on their plate I looked over to my right side with Ash seated right next to me and right next to him is his mate. I looked to my left and an empty seat where my Angel usually sits.
"I want to thank all of you for coming...even thought I didn't expect this" I said. "I want to thank all of you for being there for my mate and I and giving me all your support...I really appreciate it.." I said with a small smile.
"To David's mate!" Asher said as he raised his glass. "To David's mate!" The whole pack said as they all raised there glasses. "Now eat before the food gets cold" I said as I sat down.

"You guys could stay if you'd like. I could bring out blankets and pillows." I said to my pack members and some of them agreed and the rest went home after I thanked them for coming.
After I said good night to the people that wanted to stay I went up to Angels and mine shared bedroom to change and go to sleep but before I could get my cloths out to change my phone started to ring in my pocket.
"Hello?"
"Hi is this David Shaw?"
"Who's asking"
"This is Dahlia's local hospital I'm Ally and a patient here has that name on their emergency contact list if anything happens to them we call the first person on their list of emergency numbers and the named David Shaw was the first one so are you or are you not David Shaw."
"yes, my name is David Shaw. May I ask what the patients name is?"
"their name is *Angels name and last name 0v0* and we would like to see you as soon as possible Mr. Shaw"
"Alright..Thank you I'll be there soon.."
As I hung up the phone I ran downstairs waking everyone that were sleeping. "David what's wrong?" Asher said getting up from the spot he was laying down on with his mate.
"something's wrong with my mate and I need to go to the hospital as soon as possible!" I said as I got my key's and opened the front door. "I'll be right back Bebe!" I heard Asher say before I heard him grabbing his keys.
As soon as I opened my car door I see Asher sprint down the block to his car.

As I arrived at the hospital and parked my car I started to run to the hospital.
'Why the hell did you decide to park far away from the hospital you dumbass!'
I thought as I got closer to the hospital. As I reached the hospital I ran up to the desk lady that was there. "excuse me I'm here to see *Angels name and last name :>*" I said a little out of breath.
"Ah yes Mr. Shaw. Let me get a doctor and they'll lead you to your...?"
"Partner!..Their my partner.."
"ah yes, let me just get the doctor." They said as they called a doctor.
"David! I'm coming with ya buddy" I heard Asher say as he gave me a comforting smile.As the doctor led us to us to the room it looked different.

"How do you know they recovered?" I said cutting the doctor off not letting him finish. "Like I was saying they recovered and they are now..., Well I'll just show you..." he said making a sharp turn to the right and a couple seconds later stopping in front of a door.
"ready?" Ash said giving me a comforting smile. "Yeah...kinda.." I said.
As the doctor opened the door I could see that the room looked...different...A lot different.
"They look the same to me so I don't know what you mean they recovered?!" I said to the doctor. "Mr. Shaw. Please. Your in a hospital so please don't yell."
"David..?...Ash...?"
Ash and I both looked at the bed and there they were.. Awake...After months and almost a year..they were there..awake.. Infront of my damn eyes.. "Angel!" I yelled running to them holding myself back to not jump on them. "Angel..!" I said hot tears running down my face.
"Davey please don't cry..." My mate said cupping my cheeks. I put my hand over theirs and closed my eyes knowing they were safe. They were alive..That's the only thing that matters to me. "w-what happened?" My mate said looking away from me to the doctor. "I'll let the department catch you up about everything that happened." The doctor said walking out of the room.
Angel started to look around the room like it was their first day on earth. "You okay?" Asher said putting his hand on their shoulder with a worried look on his face. "Yeah...I-Im just thinking.." they said. "About..?" I asked gently not wanting my voice to sound pressuring.
"About...you know..what did I do to make someone hurt me...?" My mate said a tear rolling down their face. "Angel..no.. you didn't do anything..all you've done is be kind and help people.." I said hugging them.
Asher walked out so my mate and I could have a moment.
A couple of minutes after someone from the department came in and Asher following the looking shocked so I guess they might have told him first. "Hello. My name is Oliver. I'm from the department." Oliver said looking through some papers that he had in a folder. "We have been investing on who did this and why they did this. We've talked to people that were there when the accident happened and lucky enough someone actually got the license plate number and that made it easier to figured out who it was."
"well? Who did it?!" I asked impatiently. Dying to know who did this to my mate. My Angel who's done nothing but be nice to the whole damn world.
"Um. Do you know someone named.."
"Um.."
"Michael...?"
My heart dropped. "Michael what?!" I said raising my voice. I could not believe what Oliver just said. Was it their ex?! Or a different psycho.
"Michael -----"

I looked at Angel and they were just as shocked as me.
"why would he do this.." I heard them say under their breath.
"we charged him with a hit and run"
"and attempted murder"

"Angel calm down" I said to my mate as their breath got faster and faster. "Angel calm down please" I said with one hand cupping their cheek and my other hand on their hand.
They start to calm down a little bit getting their breath under control. "Why..?! Why would he do that?!" They asked looking up at Oliver.
" He said that he still loved you. That he couldn't get over you so he thought the only way he could get rid of you..was by... killing you... The only reason he tried to visit you was because he wanted to look like he had nothing to do with it. He wanted to seem like a friend was visiting a friend in the hospital so he would get his name cleared. But that didn't work" Oliver said.
Angel started to cry. Oliver and his partner walked out of the room to give us some space. It was a lot to take in knowing someone wanted to kill my mate..To take them away from me..
I hugged them not wanting to let them go..Ash came over to us and hugged them too. I could hear him cry along with my mate. I mean I don't blame him. Over these past few years when me and Angel were dating Ash and my mate grew closer. They have the same sense of humor and have a lot of thing in common and they grew a great friendship...and know learning that your friend was in a life threatening accident knowing that they might have died..that's a lot to take in...
"I'ma..I'ma go back to your house David if you want I could tell the pack that stayed there..?" Ash said "You guys had a party..?! And without me..?! How dare you" Angel said acting like they were offended witch got a small laugh out of Ash and me.
"Alright I'ma go. I also think there's some snacks left over like chips-" Asher said before I cut him off "witch your not having Angel" they looked at me with the face they would do when I told them no when they wanted to get roman at the grocery store.
"You can have chips when you get better mini boss" Ash said waving a goodbye and walking out.

"Ash what happened?!" My mate told me as I walked into David's and his mates house.
"I can't tell you right now bebe. Maybe David could tell you later cuz it's kinda of a Alpha and beta thing right now..you know??" I said. I didn't want the to know David's mate woke up. I mean yeah the deserve to know but I want David to tell the pack or surprise the pack that their mate woke up.
"let's just go to sleep yeah?" I said yawning. It was pretty late at night and I was pretty tied.
"okay but where's David? Shouldn't he be with you?" My mate asked. "He stayed behind! He said he'll be here in the morning or something!" I said.
I picked my mate up and set the down where we are going to sleep. "Good night bebe. I love you!" I said cuddling them like I always did every night. "Love you too" they said before drifting off to sleep.

"come on Davey I could walk perfectly fine without you being behind me making sure I don't fall" They said as they keep walking looking over their shoulder to me.
"well if you weren't stumbling every few seconds I wouldn't be behind you now would I?" I say opening the passenger side door for them.

It was 6 in the morning by the time we got home and Angel was dead asleep by then.
I got out of the car and carried them all the way to the door. I knocked on the door. I didn't want to take my keys out because that would wake them up and they needed all the rest they could get. I mean they just got out of the hospital.
Liam opened the door and looked shocked he was one of the teenagers of the pack and one of the night owls so I wasn't surprised to see him at the door. "Oh..My..God.." he said and his shoulders dropped. He hugged my mate and I as gentle as he could. "Could you get my keys from my car Liam?" I said. I was really tied and I just wanted to lay my mate down and go to sleep. "Yeah of course!" He said moving a side so I could walk in and after he walked to my car and got my keys and locked the car. "Thank you" I said walking up stairs.
Everyone was sleeping but Liam. He was playing call of duty on his phone but I could see that he logged out and was at the main area.
I set my mate down on the bed and turned on the ac. It was hot and I didn't want the waking up all sticky and sweaty.
I walked back downstairs and saw Liam sitting on the couch and continuing his game.
"why don't you go to sleep Liam?" I said pulling out a water bottle from the fridge. "I don't know..I'm just not that sleepy you know.." he said shrugging his shoulder.
"You need your sleep Liam...I could see your eye bags from a mile away." I said sitting on the floor beside him giving him a water as well.
"I couldn't sleep you know..I mean you and Asher ran out of the house and that kept me up..you know.. what would you do if your Alpha and Beta ran out without a single word..and then you Beta coming back without your Alpha and...never mind.." he said shaking his head and grabbing the water bottle.
"No, say it. I want to know." I said. "It's just that..what if something happened..you know with the whole Quinn thing..I thought something happened but when I saw you and your mate I felt a relief..like something was pressing down on my chest and then when I saw you guys that just..went away..you get me..?" He said looking at me. "Yeah..I mean this one time my dad ran out with no explanation and I felt just like you Liam. Until he came back with a damn cat in his hands and we ended up giving that cat to Milo and that's how Milo got Aggro." I said smiling at the memory. I still can't get that moment out of my head. How Milo jumped up when he found out he got to keep a cat.
"Thanks David.."he said getting off from the couch and crouching down to give me a hug. "No problem kid.." I said hugging him back. "You know..your a good Alpha right" he said pulling back. "Thank you." I said getting up and walking up to Angel's and mine room.

Angel
I walked downstairs and Milo and his mate ran to me and hugged me like if I was lost for years. "I think you should let 'em go if you want them to breathe" I heard Marie say. At that Milo and his mate let go. "Sorry" Milo said backing up.
"that's okay" I said with a small smile. "David's cookin breakfast so we should all start to get ready" Marie said.

After that we all hung out for a couple more hours and then went to bed.
"I love you David" I said with a smile laying next to him. "I love you too Angel.." he said kissing my forehead.

I woke up and got up from Angels and mines bed and went to use the bathroom. Once I got out I could see that Angel was still in bed. By now they would have been awake and getting ready for the day.
"Angel get up" I said in a soft voice. I said it again but this time I stepped closer and said it again..and again..
I stepped closer up to the point where I was hovering over them.
I sat on the bed and put my hand on their cheek
They were pale.....
And cold....
And my Angel was gone....
