What's the funny story you have ?

ok so i dated this guy in high school. let's call him E. it was my first relationship. this was back when i was convinced i was an allosexual cis girl still, but he was already out as ace and trans.

we broke up for a multitude of reasons, the main of which was he's arospec and possibly gay and just Did Not like me that way. it was a mess we were both suicidally depressed teens witn no support networks and i had completely untreated bpd. in many ways i hate the person i was when we were together. but we're cool now.

he had this friend, S., also ace, trans, and arospec. they actually met before me and E. did. it's nothing short of a miracle we found each other in my medium sized russian town where talking abt being queer at all is not safe.

anyway despite them knowing each other for a long time, i never met S. not once. he lived not far but i haven't so much as seen a picture of him or a social media account he uses.

then they both went off to moscow to university at roughly the same time, which they have now just finished.

they also started dating at some point there.

me and E. kept talking over discord, we stayed friends, not super close but consistent. but i haven't seen him irl in years. i really miss him tbh. i also have lamented not being able to meet his bf.

anyway he texts me today and says the following:

"hey S. is back in *home town* for the next week. you wanna meet him?"

so uhhhh i'm meeting him on tuesday. and i am completely freaking out about it.

part of me thinks i'll meet him and it'll just be E. with a sock puppet doing some fight club type shit. cause i am still not convinced this guy exists. but ig we'll see!

Here the branches of the deciduous shrub Berberis 'Georgei' (barberry) form an arch over the path. This sterile hybrid produces an abundance of yellow flowers in the late spring that are followed by these red berries which made a great show, even on a grey day in the rain.
