This fandom surprises me. Giving Snape’s role to Regulus and saying he would’ve done it better is completely stupid. Regulus has no connection or reason to protect Harry like Snape does. Let’s be honest — if Regulus had survived, he wouldn’t have become a Potions professor. He was a rich kid; he’d be like Lucius with his family fortune. The only thing we really know about him is that he played Quidditch

Guys, come on, if Regulus had survived, he would have remained a blood purity elitist. He never actually stopped being one, he just got pissed off when Voldemort started giving him orders he didn’t like, and that was that. There was no change in ideology, no shift in worldview, nothing of the sort.

Let’s not forget that the Blacks (aside from him and Bellatrix) shared those ideals of blood purity but they just weren’t Death Eaters. You can be a supremacist without being a terrorist supremacist.
