My Dragon Age PCs are such mess like hi these are my Inquisitors, Kas Surana and Rem Brosca, and this is my Hawke, Rose Amell.

Also Corinne is a Hawke but is actually dithering about whether she wants her surname is Amell or Vael or Montilyet.

Mihren’s surname is Ghilain. Not surana.

Elora doesn’t actually use the surname Aeducan anymore and refuses to answer to it. I just have to call her that so that she has one, and so she doesn’t get confused with her alternative Time Lord self, Elora of the House of Whiteriver who refuses to answer to the surname Whiteriver.

Meanwhile Mahariel won’t ever use his first name, L. Hawke will fight you if you call her Lucy instead of Hawke but needs to be differentiated from other Hawkes somehow, and A. Hawke’s first name has become a deadname and now just has to have A. as a weird first name, which just makes things more confusing for Amber Hawke and Amity Hawke.

The games have given Rynessa the surnames Andras and Lavellan but neither of these are her actual clan, and she doesn’t actually use a surname.

I hate them all.

Is ridiculously overpowered

Actual best mage in Thedas and makes everyone else look bad by comparison

Has to give an incredibly long speech to Noodle before killing him in the final DA2 battle so that Hawke actually gets to fight Meredith and Isaline can’t single handedly save the day

Starts blizzards and then laughs about it

Therlia Surana

Has a ridiculously fancy and impractical aesthetic even though she’s on the run from like six organisations at any one time

Is on the run from like six organisations at any one time

Said she wasn’t going to be in love with Anders but then was accidentally in love with Anders

Keeps adopting stray children by mistake

Rem Brosca

Ignores her responsibilities as Queen of Orzammar to have an adventure with the Inquisition

Wouldn’t actually be here if she hadn’t wanted a break and is quite grateful to Corypheus

Gets drunk and talks about how she wishes she could kill dragons all the time

Isn’t telling Noodlehair he’s fired, just that he should really resign from the Inquisition immediately because no one actually wants to kill him, but, well

*pats you* I am sorry about the terrible non roleplay quest it is the Worst.

I am finally playing Inquisition with an Inquisitor who is neurotypical (I think) and knows how to people and actually would know how and be willing to do well in WEWH it’s going to be such a relief. Even if I spend the entire quest complaining about how it sucks anyway.

Oh man, absolutely. Like especially right now, I am trying to work out how Dwarven society’s doing in the worldstate with my new dwarf children because this is the one where my Aeducan fucked up everything. She basically manipulated a load of people during A Paragon of Her Kind and ended up allying with the carta to drag as many dwarves (mostly nobles, definitely including Bhelen and Harrowmont) as possible to the Surface and oops, looks like you’re all casteless now. Well then why don’t we give up castes completely and I’ll head an expedition into the Deep Roads to find Paragon Branka and anyone who wants to rule Orzammar can come with me and we’ll ask her who she thinks should do it. 

So, Brosca ends up becoming Queen of Orzammar and starts trying to fix Orzammar with her Inner Circle of my seven new dwarf OCs, all from different backgrounds and castes, her wonderful sister Rica, and Denek Helmi, who she has a political marriage with because a lot of dwarves are more willing to accept a casteless on the throne if she has a noble there with her. Of course, castes don’t technically exist any longer, but that’s not stopping the majority of people acting like they do, so the Orzammar Inner Circle has a lot of work to do.

(And then Queen Rem pays a diplomatic visit to the Conclave, ends up the only person to leave alive, and with A Magic on her hand, and spends the whole of the prologue asking the people trying to imprison her what kind of diplomatic incident they’re looking to start. Then a small army of dwarves shows up, demanding these humans leave her alone Immediately, and look I’m really loving this Inquisition playthough.)

I HATE BHELEN HS

Bhelen is awful and my Aeducan Warden loved and trusted him soooo that was fun.

But then she came back to Orzammar and started manipulating everyone in the city, before getting the Carta, who she’d allied with, to drag every noble they could find up to the Surface. “Oh, looks like you’re all technically casteless and now none of you can be ruler! Well, since I just wrecked your whole society, is anyone of any caste brave enough to come with me into the Deep Roads to find Branka and maybe see who your Paragon thinks deserves to be ruler, because your caste system is bullshit? Oh and thank you Bhelen, I’m far happier as a Warden than I ever was as a noble. And you’re to thank for all of this honestly, because a year ago I would have absolutely supported you over Trian, because I never wanted to be queen.”

And anyway eventually Caridin tells her to give the crown he made to whoever she wants and she crowns the sensible and fair minded lifelong casteless she brought with her and that is how Brosca becomes Queen of Orzammar. And then Bhelen is killed because fuck Bhelen and Rica moves into the royal palace with her little sister and dates someone who actually deserves her and is happy forever and no one misses Bhelen because he fucking sucks.
