You’d been so excited when you’d been asked. Nobody ever asked you out, and maybe that should’ve made you more cautious. The guy who’d asked you wasn’t known to be gay around school, but you supposed that was his right, he also wasn’t really known to be cruel. So, you’d agreed with a grin and set a place and time. He’d asked you on Tuesday, and you’d set the date for Friday after classes finished. All week, you’d been excited, talking to your friends about what to wear, how you thought it’d go, and the guy was attractive so you did do just a little bit of gushing too. Nobody said much of anything about it, though Kira was excited with you and did help you plan an outfit. Theo was the only person to offer anything that wasn’t positive, having said that if you needed anything or needed to leave, that you could give him a call. You didn’t think it would, but you appreciated the offer if nothing else.
You were a senior, and this was your first real date. That was definitely the reason for at least half of your excitement - you’d lagged behind your peers because you were unpopular and gay, and quite open about it. One boy had propositioned you, but you’d turned him down just because he wasn’t willing to be open about dating. You weren’t prepared to live a lie. Once you got out of your last class, you slipped into the bathroom and into a stall to change into your date outfit. Kira, who had been waiting outside, approved the outfit and gave you a quick hug before sending you on your way.
You didn’t drive, mostly because your parents couldn’t afford to buy you a car, so you were stuck riding your regular pedal bike to the diner. It wasn’t exactly a fancy place for a first date, but you didn’t need it to be. The company was what mattered above all else, and you thought the company today wouldn’t be half bad. So, you found a table after chaining up your bike, and you waited. Then you ordered yourself a milkshake and waited some more. The waitress came by and offered to refill your milkshake for free, while you waited a little more. It was half an hour after arriving that you called Theo, and told him you were pretty sure you’d been stood up.
Theo was there five minutes later.
You climbed into his truck with a sigh, and neither of you spoke for a while, you just rode around in his truck feeling a little sorry for yourself, listening to the music on the radio. You’d taken the other half of your second milkshake to go, and it sat slowly melting in the cupholder between you, the warm California sun beat down through the windshield, but was slowly beginning to set.
“He’s an asshole.” Theo finally said as he pulled over, not anywhere in particular, just done with sitting in silence.
“Yeah, I realised that when the waitress gave me a free drink.” You replied, managing to make it sound like a sigh.
“Come on.” He said, opening his door and getting out of the truck. You didn’t know where exactly you were being told to go, but you opened your door and followed him, milkshake in hand. You weren’t going to waste a free drink, after all. It didn’t really matter where he was taking you, Theo was one of your friends and so if he said to follow then you would, because tonight couldn’t really get worse and so just hanging out with Theo wherever you were headed was just fine by you.
He led you down an alley between some houses and you stumbled over a piece of trash into a small park with a set of swings and a climbing frame, hidden away between rows of houses. The grass was well kept, with an area left long for the bees, and the playground area looked clean. It was clear the locals that used the area took care of it. Theo held his hand out with a smirk and you took it. Why not? He led you over to the playground, then let go of you so he could climb his way up the rounded metal climbing frame, taking a seat at the top. After a moment, determining your route, you followed after him and the two of you sat shoulder to shoulder, just enjoying nature and the setting sun.
“Do you want me to beat his ass?” Theo asked after a minute and you laughed, leaning your head on his shoulder.
“Nah, he’s not worth it.” You replied.
“You’re too good looking for him anyway, the two of you would never have worked.” Theo offered, and the tone of the moment shifted. Suddenly, whatever your next words were felt much more important, like they risked destroying whatever the path forward between you could be.
“Oh yeah?” You simply asked, allowing Theo to just continue himself.
“Yeah. He’d have felt insecure cause you’re out of his league, and people who do that end up cheating or leaving.” He offered sagely, like he’d seen it happen before. Maybe he had.
“Well, good thing he saved me the trouble then. Otherwise, you’d definitely have to beat his ass and as hot as you’d look covered in blood, we can’t really risk you getting expelled.” You replied after a moment, determinedly not booking at Theo, instead looking straight out at the line of trees.
Theo was bisexual, you knew that. He’d had a little bit of a crush on Liam for a while, but that fizzled out and died when Liam got back together with Hayden for the third time. It was less that he was disappointed about not getting a chance and more that he got the ick over how dumb he was when it came to her. You’d laughed when he’d told you over smoothies, and told him there’d be other guys. Looking back, that felt a whole lot like a date.
“Oh you asshole.” You said, sitting up just so you could shove Theo, careful not to shove him hard enough that he’d fall. Theo didn’t respond, he just laughed, throwing his head back freely. He didn’t laugh all that often, but you loved the sound, the way he looked as his face and eyes lit up, and the fact that he was comfortable doing it in front of you.
“You worked it out then?”
“You really moved your crush from one stupid guy to another.” You said with a sigh, but it was fond, and your hand was on his thigh, just resting there.
“I don’t know, I wouldn’t call you stupid. Just.. oblivious.” Theo said, smirking. You shook your head and leaned in to kiss his cheek, then began your descent back to the ground. Theo was stuck for a moment, eyes wide and unable to move.
“Come on, you’ve got the keys!” You called out from a distance away, and Theo scrambled to join you. Once you were side by side again, he took your hand and you laced your fingers together.

Reader is part of the Thunderbolts. It's readers birthday and everyone forgot except Bob. He has a present for reader, something that she ones mentioned that she likes. When Bob noticed that the others forgot, he feels bad and wants to make readers birthday special.

Yes we love Bob reynolds and I like the prompt but instead of them forgetting I may just have then be away on a mission and unable to celebrate or maybe they just don’t know it’s her birthday because idk found family (but if you don’t like that idea because it is your request after all I can keep it the same no issues :] )

Celebrating 1200 followers is a big thing for me. I started sharing my stories on Tumblr 8 years ago, and I’ve never thought that I would reach this many people. It may seem like a small amount of followers to some big blogs, but to me, it means the world that so many of you are interested in my blog and my stories.
As a token of appreciation, I would like to repay you for your love and support in the form of a request event. Since I usually don’t take requests, this is an excellent opportunity for you to do so!

I’ll close the requests after receiving 10 requests or by 28th February - whichever comes first
I plan on writing stories less than 5k for this event, but I might exceed it at times if inspiration hits unexpectedly (for my last request event, I said the same and wrote a story with almost 20k words… oops)
I plan on posting these stories by 31st August at the latest because I have a full-time job and I might not have a lot of time to write at times, but if for any reason, I can’t fulfill this, I will let you know. Also, I usually indicate in my pinned post which story I’m working on, so you can also check that for updates or simply shoot me a message.
I will combine all the requests into a masterlist as soon as they start coming in, so you know that I’ve received your message.
