So, that time of the year is upon us. Everyone seems to be coming down with something. Whether that be a cold, the flu, or just a nasty virus, it can really harsh our mellow. So, today, I woke up feeling like I got hit by a bus. I called off work and went to the doctor like a good kid, and guess what she told me?? "You have a really rough virus and it's going to get worse before it gets better. So, you need fluids and lots of rest. Oh, also., you can't workout for at least a week." YOU CAN'T WORKOUT FOR A WEEK!?!?!?!? **What????? But I love working out! What if I get fat? I'll lose all my muscle! How will I stay fit? I won't be able to run at the same speed! ** Those were all thoughts that went through my head. Then I thought for a minute... What if your body is telling you that it's overworked and under-appreciated? What if your body is telling you that you need rest and it's okay to give yourself some rest? So, I just wanted to remind you all, the same way that I had to remind myself.. It is OKAY, and even necessary at times, to rest. This is especially true when you are sick. Please respect your bodies and realize they're doing the best that they can. A little R&R may be just what they need. Have a great Monday and a great week! And don't get sick like me. But if you do, get some rest!
