This is for @capesch-arts ! Who drew my Prince in Yellow comic for me, and I couldn't resist drawing their character Joy with my gal XD

The idea that Joy somehow never knew The King had a kid was way too funny to pass up. Meanwhile, Nyxophoros is a little shit who will and does find this incredibly amusing.

So 2 things happened, first, I have been endeared to @capesch-arts Malevolent oc, Richard Joy. Second, I was in a mood to play with Reave and then a fight scene sprang into my head. Reave isn't Malevolent specific, but they are a creature I have fun putting in random scenarios. Direct skin contact is usually a death sentence, buuuuut since Joy's patron has a death/decay aspect, I figured that would probably give him an immunity. Which would 100% make Reave forget whatever it was that initially set them off. Aaaaanyway, I had fun :>

This one was beamed onto my brain so vividly that I couldn't deny it the chance to be realized!

For putting 8 characters (two of which I've never even drawn before) on one page, two-three days isn't too bad!

Now you may think to yourself: "some of those people don't look like yours" and you'd be correct! Everyone on the right side of this page belongs to the wondrous @capesch-arts ! Their characters are super cool (hence why I drew them)!

Scrapped ideas + how the characters might interact below here, this is me letting my imagination run a little bit wild!

Character interactions!

Ae'my (it's so unbelievably funny to call them Amy) doesn't have much reason to fight with Hastur, but Amy's musical language accidentally translated into something incredibly offensive in Carcosan. I'd bet that Hastur even thought "man that inflection was weird" but was too pissed off to think about it further. Shenanigans ensue.

Ronan and Richard aren't so dissimilar. They're both trans men (t4t Hostility), they're both in cults and they're both insanely loyal to their respective Gods. They're also both freaks with their respective Gods. The difference is that Ronan is a Ragebaiter about the fact that he married his God, and has a half Eldritch child (see: Thelma) with them. And he also lives in Amy's domain. And he can do magic. And he's INSUFFERABLE about it. I imagine Richard is seconds away from losing his shit at all times when they're in the same room for too long.

Pia and Oliver both like their music as singers! Of course, Pia doesn't serve the King and she doesn't take too well to assassins attempts. Outside of a fight, I think they'd get along well enough! She doesn't tend towards violence, given that she usually stays in the Waylay.

Thelma and Vivienne are mostly fighting because everyone else is. I'm not under the impression they'd get along since Thelma's like, 17-18 and Vivienne is an entire adult. They wouldn't have much to talk about.

Scrapped ideas!

I originally considered putting in Avera against Richard like I did in Artfight, but I realized I could have way more fun if Ronan were there instead, and it would also just make more sense.

When I decided that Ronan was going to be an absolutely smug bastard, I was half tempted to give Richard a gun to make it as clear as possible that he was pissed, but I think his mask helps with that and I wanted to keep it sort of serious??

I know Ronan has a lot of scrapped ideas, that's because he seeks to make me suffer! He was originally wearing this great big skirt, but it didn't fit him. The guy loves occult and all the drama. It just wasn't working. He's supposed to be biting his lip, I don't think that came across properly oops

Ronan's open hand was supposed to have like magic flames around it, but I forgot to color that in and therefore it Didn't make the final cut. If I remember, I might fix that later.

Pia and Oliver honestly didn't have much to change. While I thought about giving Oliver his Flail to counter an incoming dagger, I wanted to keep the positions relatively simple. Putting 8 people on one page and making them overlap was tricky as is! Adding in the movement would've been insanely complex, so I just let him catch a dagger!

I played around with the idea of drawing Thelma with her viola since that's her primary instrument, but the angle made that impossible and I'm not confident in my ability to draw instruments.

Originally, I wanted to make Vivienne lean over with a leg in the air since she's the Dancer and all, but by the time I drew her, she was upright and her leg being up when the position would require her to be bent would've looked janky.

I wasn't sure what to do with Richard's hand at first. I knew I wanted it up and that was the extent of the planning.

I thought about extending Amy's form more since they're literally a God and I did the same thing for the King, but Amy's one of the two who didn't previously have a reference. I'm sure I'll come up with something eventually! I also considered adding the King's tentacles, but due to the black in his followers uniforms, I fear that it would've hidden some details or made some things unclear, such as Vivienne's hand. I do feel as though I could've made the King's robe longer, but I also think that his yellow doesn't stand out nearly as much.

This isn't a scrapped idea, but I made sure to use acrylic markers on the Gods, and mostly alcohol markers on everyone else (but as you can see; most of the right column people have acrylic marker coloring. Mostly for the grey and black.)

Fun fact: Ronan's crop top was a last minute detail. I thought it would be more fun if he had a shirt on, except the shirt covers nothing!

I think that's everything! I might've missed details because it is Very early and I'm not really proofreading. I hope enjoyed!! It was very fun to draw!!!!
