morning post woohooooo

i don’t usually share my rough character concepts, mostly because i prefer to keep my rough ideas to myself, but i liked this concept enough to share it!

i’ve been reworking an old oc, ripjaw. as of right now her lore isn’t too concrete, but as far as settings go she’s a weredinosaur that’s part of a swordpunk-apocalypse world in the midst of a zombie outbreak. she’s a former field medic that witnessed the collapse of the world and is very hellbent on keeping a close eye on her clan. she appears intimidating but is actually quite anxious… and overthinks. a lot.

but yeah, that’s all i got for my old girl, ripjaw! for now…

Headcanons and things about Ripjaw’s subspecies

They grow to the size of their container, so being ocean-native Seadwellers they can quickly become leviathan sized and keep growing. (this means Ripjaw is comparatively a baby, and if he continues to stay in the lake he won’t be as large as his family).

Their bite force can allow them to cut through steel.

They have terrible eyesight so they mostly rely on vibrations to hunt.

They carry their eggs and hatched grubs in their mouth for transport and protection.

The older they get the more bio-luminescent they are.

They have specialized lungs and gills that allow them to breathe air and filter both salt and fresh water.

They are considered the ancestral “missing link” between land and deep seadwellers.

Their horns are used for fighting, along with their claws and teeth.

The subspecies is endangered and have been dying out slowly for a long time.
