I guess posts have been made about where you can find references on Sindarin, Quenya, Nandorin, Old Elvish, and Noldorin among others on Tumblr but I wanted to make my own list (so I can come back to it when I need it). If you know a website you'd like me to consider for my list, please just mention it to me.
Ambar Eldaron – Sindarin and Quenya dictionaries and courses
Ardalambion – Website about the sounds of Tolkien's languages and their grammar
Automatic Quenya translator – English to Quenya and back
Eldamo – A lexicon of Tolkien's invented languages including fonts
Glæmscrafu – This website explores the sounds of Tolkien's invented languages and includes several texts and poems
Gwaith-i-Phethdain, The Fellowship of the Word-Smiths – Very detailed page by Ryszard Derdzinski. Many poems and calligraphies. Particularly noteworthy are the translations of the Elvish texts and songs from the film trilogy.
Hiswelokë's Sindarin Dictionary – A Sindarin and Noldorin dictionary that was started in 1999 and then went on hiatus in 2008
I Lam Arth – Aaron Shaw's site with a series of in-depth articles on Sindarin
Lalaith's Middle Earth Science Pages – Website about Middle-earth's people, languages of the humans, and other things. This also includes Rohirric if you're into learning that.
Mellonath Daeron – Some useful Elvish phrases
Parf Edhellen – A Sindarin, Quenya, Primitive Elvish, and Noldorin dictionary. It's my favourite website because it also compares old and new translations.
Parma Tyelpelassiva – Texts, songs, poems and grammar for Sindarin, Quenya, Andûnaic, Noldorin, etc.
Quenya pronunciation guide
RealElvish – Phrasebooks on Sindarin, Quenya, Andûnaic, etc. including naming traditions and lists for Elves, Rohirrim, Hobbits, Dwarves (if you need it for a fanfiction)
Sindarin.de – The first Sindarin website I frequented and where I learnt all the grammar. It's in German.
Sindarin phrasebook by slarmstrong – There are 3 parts of this phrasebook
Sindanórie – Site by Roman Rausch with articles on Telerin and word overlaps between the Elvish and real languages, poems, sound files, etc.
Tecendil – If you want to see what your name or others look like in Elvish script
The Dwarrow Scholar – Anything Khuzdul
Tyalie Tyelellieva – Website by Lisa Star but since geocities was taken down, it only exists in an archived form. It was last updated in 2004 but it also has a Khuzdul or Dwarvish Wordlist.
DAY FIVE: Relationships
Aspec people can have many different kinds of relationships, including romantic and sexual ones— but some kinds of relationships are more unique and common to the aspec communities, such as queerplatonic ones. Today is a day for exploring all these different kinds of relationships!
There are several relationships in Tolkien’s works that could easily be read as queerplatonic, including Frodo + Sam, and Legolas + Gimli.
Alternative prompt: Many of the terms for aspec identity come from root words of Latin, can you postulate translations for aspec terminology in any of Tolkien’s languages?
These prompts are optional, and we are open to any aspec content whether or not you stick to our suggestions!

I’m not sure what kind of treats I have to offer. I’m no artist, and I’m not slick enough to turn a fic around in short order. So here’s a Rohirric word I made for fun instead!
Stiþbroc (or stithbroc if we’re using modern English letters): Literally, it means “firm ass” and the women of the Mark use it to refer to the guys who have the best butts.
Théodred finds it slightly mortifying to hear himself called a stiþbroc. Éomer pretends that he does, too, but secretly he loves it. Elfhelm — who in his 60s is still doing quite well for himself, he hasn’t been in a saddle for half a century not to have a great ass — absolutely LIVES for it and will give a little shimmy or bend over unnecessarily just to give the ladies a show whenever he hears it.
Hope you enjoyed! It’s always a pleasure, and I hope you have a great holiday!!! ♥️
(Because I've seen too many posts about how Boromir doesn't speak Sindarin)
Which members of the Fellowship (+ assorted other LotR characters) speak which languages:
(canon, interpolation and headcanon mingled, so beware)
Boromir: Westron, Gondorian Sindarin (many Gondorians and certainly members of the nobility are billingual), probably at least a little Rohirric given how much he seems to like the Rohirrim and vice versa, any random Quenya words Denethor hammered into him before he decided military training was more important that he hasn't managed to forget yet (few)
Aragorn: Billingual in Westron and Sindarin since very early childhood, Quenya, Rohirric, definitely several tongues spoken in Harad and Rhûn
Gandalf: Westron, Quenya, Sindarin, Rohirric, wouldn't be too surprised if Khûzdul + an immense number of other languages - more rather than less
Faramir: Westron, Sindarin, Quenya, some Adunaic* (dead language), if he doesn't know Rohirric yet, he will learn it from Éowyn
Elrond: Sindarin (likely his mother tongue), Quenya (with Feanorian accent?), Adunaic* (dead language he learned before it was dead), Taliska* (even dead-er language, same), Westron, countless more
Theoden: Rohirric, Westron, Gondorian Sindarin (everyone is sleeping on the fact that he spent his childhood in Gondor because his father did not get along with his grandfather at all, enough to move to another country)
Éowyn: Rohirric, Westron, if she knows any Sindarin at all, it would be a few random words, but she will learn upon moving to Gondor
---
(* If anyone wants to know, Adunaic is the predecessor of Westron and Taliska is the predecessor of Adunaic)
They all speak Rohirric but they mix it with Orcish and no one understands them or their accents
The older they are the more Rohirric inspiration there is for their names
A few can ride horses extremely well
The oldest of them would be around thirty during the War of the Ring
Lurtz is actually short for Stêorlêas which is a name from a random translation website that is supposed to mean ‘wild’.
There are female Uruk-hai they just are hard to distinguish
The oldest of a group is the leader
Lurtz is actually Saruman’s first successful Uruk and he’s…not quite perfect because of this
The movies? Never heard of them so he’s actually more tall and lean than huge but he’s tall and lean in the extremely intimidating way a lot of Orcs from Gundabad are/some of the Rohirrim are
None of the regular Orcs can understand a word these idiots say their accents are that thick
They also tend towards lower voices so it’s very rare to find people who are tenors/sopranos we only have alto/baritone/bass here thanks
In their collective opinion, Saruman can die in the Void but he doesn’t know they think that because he’s too narcissistic
Sauron very nearly had Saruman killed when he found out about how the Uruk-hai (MOST OF WHOM ARE UNDER THE AGE OF SIXTEEN which is the age of majority in Mordor) were treated. In his way of thinking Saruman was sending people who were underage to war and child soldiers are just Not A Thing in Mordor because there are plenty of able-bodied adults who take up the job.
Most Uruk-hai form extremely tight-knit packs and rarely know who their parents are but they will know who their siblings/half-siblings are if they have any
A few have kids! That they have to hide, because Saruman can and will steal babies to be speed-grown into soldiers
It is unfortunately common for very young Uruks to die or have kids because biologically they’re adults and are meant to be violent.
A couple speak some kind of Elvish but only the older ones and this is because a ruckus of Balrogs (yes that is indeed what they are called I’ve decided) came through once
Overall they tend to be pretty pack-oriented to the point of getting violent if they are separated from those they consider family
More than one person has died trying to break up a pack
They are incredibly sarcastic and nihilistic as a whole because of their awful situation
Someone *cough* Lurtz *cough* once got close to killing Saruman but never did because of They Will Kill My Little Sister reasons
I LOVE THEM THEY NEED TO HAVE MORE WRITTEN ABOUT THEM
“Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?”
“Asexual” and “aromantic” are umbrella terms encapsulating a wide spectrum of identities. From grayromantic to demisexual, and aroace to lithromantic — there are many other labels on the a-spectrum. This is a day for exploring those identities and the characters you associate them with.
