Dark Ace did it. When the Storm Hawks and the rest of Atmos attacked. They managed to push them back and defeat them. And when the dreaded Storm Hawks attacked. He finally managed to do a one up over Aerrow finally.
Piper being too weak to sustain him, and Cyclonis's power giving him the edge he needed to finally deal a killing boy to the annoying teen.
But now its over. The others had been captured and Cyclonia is now considered the rulers of the whole Atmos.
Dark Ace won. So how does he feel now?

After the initial burst of satisfaction, and the last dregs of adrenaline that every battle gave him had faded out, Dark Ace felt relief for the briefest of moments. For a moment, he let himself think that the war was won, that it was all over, and he could finally rest.
As he watched the screaming, crying young mage be dragged away from Aerrow's body, and her friends hauled off in chains though, all he had to do was look at Cyclonis's face to know that the fighting was far from over. There would always be new horizons to conquer, rebellions to put down, and orders to carry out. It was his duty as Champion, and he was bound by whatever honour he had left to fulfil it.
Sometimes, he visited the prison that lay in the bowels of Cyclonia's floating citadel. It was where they kept the defeated Sky Knights that had chosen surrender over death, and what remained of the Storm Hawks. Cyclonis wanted them close enough that she could gloat whenever she pleased, and while Dark Ace was leery of keeping dangerous foes with so little to lose at the drifting heart of the Empire, he would admit that he liked to see how far they'd fallen as well. Especially on sleepless nights when he questioned if he really should still be going along with Cyclonis's desires to conquer every last corner of Atmos, including the Far Side which she was starting to fully set her sights upon. He questioned, and somewhat feared, the risks that it posed on his people.
