So let's talk about a little something called #rangeofmotion. It's absolutely MANDATORY as a lifter to use it fully. Easier said than done though! Because if you're a lanky lifter like myself proper, textbook form on moves like the #overheadpress can mean TOO MUCH #rom, meaning your arms will get tired quicker than you'd want, meaning you're less likely to accomplish what you should be able otherwise. If I'm pressing, I no longer stop the bar at my chest because once I do that my triceps are no longer engaged. So I tweaked my lift by stopping the bar at the middle of my face instead of my chest and my elbows stay up, meaning the triceps are still engaged. This is an example of how to make range of motion work for YOU. Hmmm. You know what? This might've JUST been a #deload day (final one of the cycle, by the way), but I'm truly convinced that regardless of what week I'm in, #legday training while using the #boringbutbig template truly is no joke. It was relatively light weights yet I feel like I did 20 rep squats with my bodyweight. Hours have passed since I got home and I'm STILL exhausted! I did #squat sets of 110, 140, and 170 for 5, followed by #dropsets of 95x5x10, followed by #legcurls with 30x5x10. I had no time to film today's #shoulderday so here's the run down. Day 1 of Week 3 of my first #boringbutbig cycle(5/3/1). #overheadpress for 10 sets, working up to 95x2, followed by and including 4 #dropsets of 55x4x10. Three sets of #chinups after that for 4x3,4,3,2. Last week's shoulder workout was definitely better, but my stomach was pretty off today, not sure why but either way I still got it done.
